Chapter 703: Chapter 328 Prince

The speed of Athias’s warship was not slow, and within a few days of sailing, they arrived at the coast of the Northern Kingdom.

Though they encountered suspicious ships trailing them along the way, the Athias spellcasters accompanying them merely cast a spell to stir up waves on the sea, and the towering water explosion scared off the suspected North People’s pirate ship.

Upon reaching the Northern Sea, Leon followed the suggestion of the well-informed Ines, and had Kovis direct the black-sailed warship to dock at Fjord Port, where the three counties of Weststral, Rune, and Levia intersect.

Kovis personally led a team ashore, knowing that he had no interest in the treasure, merely wanting to help him complete the journey as quickly as possible. With the help of these Athias Army soldiers, it indeed saved Leon and Ines the trouble of recruiting additional hands to assist in the transport.

After finding a local guide in the port to inquire about the general location of the treasure site in the mountain suburbs, Leon couldn’t help but feel fortunate for the knight order system he had established, which required a mission log and report after each action. Otherwise, it would have been like looking for a needle in a haystack to find the treasure based on the past journey of Uncle Bryan.

Following the description of the landmarks, they passed through several villages and towns, taking two days to reach the rugged deep mountain wilderness.

Entering the forest, Leon looked at Kovis who was accompanying him: “…I need to trouble you once more.”

There was no choice since the detection magic he knew was all about sensing moving objects.

And he had not had the chance to learn the spell to detect stationary substances in the past year, as he always had Acro by his side in the original space-time to fill this gap in his “spell pool.”

Nodding slightly, Kovis didn’t mind helping out with this small task. He asked his apprentice to bring out the casting materials, placing them at the corresponding position. After completing the preparations, he tapped the Falcon Magic Wand and released the demon rune.

Magic power drove the surrounding elemental energy to outline the magic technique for searching for specific material reactions, and Kovis chanted the spell to activate the magic.

As the magic light flowed, the light lines on the ground seemed to come alive, winding around Kovis’s magic robe. The invisible magic pulses vibrated from those magic strings.

With a clear range and characteristics to search for targets in the shallow underground, it was not difficult for an official position mage.

Moreover, how to excavate underground objects was a compulsory course for every Athias mage, essentially the founding principle of the Mage Empire.

Maintaining the spell in this way, Kovis held the magic wand and led the group around for a while. Soon, he sensed the artificially buried, regularly shaped groups of rectangles several meters below the ground.

Switching pulse frequencies to penetrate the chests, he felt the feedback of various messages of precious metals from inside. Kovis put away the spell and tapped his boot on the ground:

“This is it, there are quite a few inside.”

Confirming that the treasure of this world hadn’t been taken by the Golden Lion Queen, Leon sighed in relief. With this money, he could do many things.

The golden light in Kovis’s eyes gradually faded. He turned his head slightly, puzzled, and asked, “Why did you bury so much treasure deep in the mountains in another world?”

The accompanying Ines also looked at Leon curiously. As far as she knew, his territory was just in development, and it didn’t seem necessary to specifically bury a large fortune in the West territory away from the south.

Leon’s face stiffened slightly, and he awkwardly averted his eyes, trying to change the subject: “It’s… discovered on a mysterious treasure map, not something I buried myself.”

He really couldn’t bring himself to admit that he was digging up his wife’s dowry, especially since, in this world, Olivia wasn’t even his wife yet.

Secretly vowing to return it to her in this world once the crisis was over, Leon squatted down, using his fingers to draw Dharma seals and runes into the magic technique, pressing them into the ground to channel magic power.

Several demon runes spread out on the ground like vines, and the solidified elemental light patterns pierced into the ground like tendrils. The surrounding soil and rocks immediately began to shake, sand and stones seeming to be squeezed out by the earth, and the soil gradually became soft.

It wasn’t a complex spell, just one of the basic skills in the agricultural and construction spell applications, also a precursor technique for creating various swamp terrains.

After softening the soil, Leon extinguished the rune, rolled up his sleeves, and picked up the tool.

The accompanying soldiers, under Kovis’s order, also began to grab tools and help with the excavation.

The loosened soil was very easy to dig, and with so many people, the efficiency was quite high. In only a dozen minutes, they had unearthed the treasure chests buried deep within.

Without opening them to verify, Leon and the others transported the heavy treasure-filled chests out of the forest and loaded them onto wagons.

Covering the treasure chests with cloth, without delay, the heavily laden convoy immediately set off on the road back to Fjord Port.

In the middle of the convoy, Ines tapped the cloth-covered chests with her fingers and looked at Leon with amusement: “There’s this much? It must be worth over ten thousand gold crowns. It’s astonishing that such a vast unclaimed fortune is hidden in the wilderness of Weststral. If the Trand Family learns what they missed on their own territory, they’d probably be furious as they still haven’t repaid the loan they took from me in the past~”

Leon shrugged, just about to reply when suddenly a sharp whistle drew his attention.

Turning with Ines to look, they saw the Athias rider scouting ahead, galloping back to the front of the convoy, urgently reporting something to Kovis in Rodoc language.
