Chapter 444 - 444 207 Destroy the Soul Bell_2
444: Chapter 207 Destroy the Soul Bell_2 444: Chapter 207 Destroy the Soul Bell_2 The skeletal fingers gripped the eye socket of the skull atop the bone staff, and his leaky jaw chanted hoarsely.
With a swift pull, he extracted a mass of souls from the magic wand and cast it into the corpse cart, reactivating the bell sound.
The resounding toll of the bell erupted in sonic waves, and the shrill eagle’s screech immediately echoed in the ear of the Corpse Witch.
The wizard’s decaying face displayed a sinister look that perhaps indicated satisfaction…
….It was very close now.
Upon hearing Death Claw emit a more agonizing scream, Leon had to tighten his grip on the reins, guilt-ridden as he furrowed his brows.
He couldn’t let his important companion endure further harm.
Faced with powerful Spirit Summoning Magic, he had Lola’s protection, Olivia was immune, but Death Claw could no longer hold on.
However…
Looking at the advancing army formation in the distance, Leon assessed that there were at least thousands of undead warriors in heavy armor stronger than living corpses.
Without the impact of the giant beast, he and Olivia could not break through such a formidable army.
Was there no other way…
at this range, could Isa’s Arrow hit them?
His magic power at the moment would only allow for one attempt, and if it failed, he could only retreat with Olivia.
Before considering giving up, Leon glanced at the magic wand in his hand, and an idea suddenly came to him.
He ordered Griffin to assist Olivia in retreating shortly, unfastened the straps and jumped off the saddle, calling for the girl’s cooperation.
“Olivia, throw me with all your might onto those undead!”
The knight girl understood the proposal instantly with a wink; their usual play and training were now the most effective breakthrough method at hand.
Sticking her long sword into the ground, she firmly grabbed Leon’s arm, spun around with herself as the axis, and shouted fiercely from beneath her helmet.
With a bang, Leon was hurled into mid-air like a discus by the girl—
Soaring high, holding the Magic Gun upside down, he experienced sudden weightlessness, leaping over the heads of the rows of heavily armored undead, with his gaze sweeping over the Corpse Ghost Army.
Even with Olivia’s superhuman strength, she couldn’t throw him over this army formation; if he landed within it, he would undoubtedly be crushed into mush by countless blades and axes.
But with the mid-flight distance and height, using the Flying Thunder God could get him across!
His gaze locked onto the conspicuous large cart and horseback figure in the distance, and before reaching the highest point, Leon forcefully hurled Garner.
The boiling knightly power drove the Magic Gun, igniting like a meteor over the undead’s heads, plunging deep into the target’s hill.
Arcs of electricity erupted over Leon’s body instantly, transforming him into a flash of lightning.
Witnessing the clattering landing of the spear not far away, the Corpse Ghost Wizard reacted a beat too late, hurriedly raising the bone staff to respond to the sudden change.
Spurring his horse to retreat, he quickly cast a spell to summon a ghost fire skeleton, fiercely tossing it at the knight enveloped in arcing electricity.
Seeing the Corpse Ghost Wizard hurl a dangerous spell, Leon quickly twisted the magic wand to alter his fall trajectory with agile Cat Spinning body techniques.
Just barely dodging the attack, he caught the Magic Gun that flew back into his hand.
Unable to buffer all of the fall’s momentum, he had to tumble upon landing, scraping up mud all over.
Before he could rise from the dizziness of the crash, he heard hooves galloping, prompting Leon to toss a card with his left hand from the ground.
Throwing Canis’s Black Card ahead, he summoned an emergency “meat shield” without hesitation.
“What, another dark place?” the Wolf Family Young Master exclaimed in within the flash.
——Clang!
The particles of magical light had not yet dissipated as Canis swiftly raised his shield to block the incoming gust of wind.
The Corpse Witch’s bone staff slammed heavily against the Kite Shield; the ghostly scythe at the end, seemingly passing through without obstruction, faltered when it contacted the wolf-embossed armor, shattering into mist with a clatter.
The nightmare-like corpse horse thundered past, sending Canis flying back from the impact with the warhorse, crashing heavily onto Leon.
The Corpse Witch pulled the reins to turn his mount, sensing that the shaping death scythe on the wand failed.
In anger, with his remnant consciousness, he raised the bone staff, mustered the dispatched corpse ghost guards to turn back at once, instantly returning to guard the Soul Bell.
Hearing the screams issuing from the dead creature’s head, Leon vehemently pushed Canis off of him and stood up.
Sweeping his gaze over the Corpse Witch on the skeletal warhorse and the enormous clock-pulled corpse cart, he identified the primary target.
“Canis, hold off that Undead Wizard for me.”
“Damn it, you should figure out a way to give me a heads up before the fight next time!”
The Wolf Family Young Master dissipated the Card Spirit in his hand, drew his long sword, and charged at the Undead Wizard riding the corpse horse.
Meanwhile, Leon seized the Magic Gun and dashed towards the nauseating ghostly corpse cart.
By just himself and Canis, they couldn’t kill this wizard before the undead guards returned, but with Death Claw and Olivia, they could still fight, as they had to destroy the huge bell preventing Griffin’s approach.
The Corpse Witch, unable to spare attention for the attacking Canis, panicked upon seeing the ritual altar bestowed by its master endangered, urgently ordering the skeletal draught beasts pulling the cart to flee, while casting a spell to release the wraiths from the large cart in a bid to delay their approach.
However, disregarding a Knight of Valor was evidently unwise, as Canis severed the skeletal horse’s foreleg with just one swing.
Similarly an undead, the Wolf Family Young Master leaned aside, raised his sword, and in one fluid motion, raised the blade against the fallen wizard, effortlessly beheading the corpse ghost akin to a dead person.
Seeing the headless corpse tumble to the ground, Canis’s heart lightened slightly; both publicly and privately, slaying a wizard brought him immense satisfaction.
Yet before he could indulge in smugness for a few seconds, he found the headless wizard rising again, propped on the bone staff.
Seeing this undead was tougher than the forest’s living corpses, Canis cursed, gripping his long sword anew, continuing to slash with renewed disbelief…
On the increasingly fast corpse cart, sinister green light emanated from the face of the desecrated life bell, and the freed wrathful souls surged towards the closest living breath.
Leon swung the magic wand, sprinted after the cart, Molten Flame Blade cleaving through one ghostly obstacle after another, reversed the gunblade to chop through the spikes piercing the corpses, leapt to grip the edge, and climbed the axle to ascend the corpse-laden bed.
The mangled Corpse Ghost within the cart grabbed Leon, futilely trying to bite at the Knight Armor with its wide mouth.
Enduring the overwhelming stench of blood and rot, Leon wrenched himself free from the clutches of the Corpse Ghost.
“The center pedestal beneath the pendulum, destroy it, then jump off the cart.”
Guided by Lola, Leon ignored the tug of the wandering souls, enduring the piercing screams of ghosts as he quickly climbed beneath the bell, drove Garner into the rune-inscribed magic technique core.
Crack—
Seeing the blinding green light spreading along the cracks, Leon recalled the explosive power from Emmon’s magic wand misfire, urgently retrieving the gunblade to hasten his escape.
Treading unevenly across the mountain of corpses on the cart, he leapt off the frame.
The next moment, the surging explosion wave hurled his body through the air, the ghostly glow of the bell spread wide in response.
The runaway Spirit Summoning Magic, like a punctured sack, released a countless, dense horde of Wandering Souls from the corpse cart that soared into the sky.
