Knights and Magic Wand
Chapter 425 - 425 200 Will Eventually Return_2

425: Chapter 200: Will Eventually Return_2 425: Chapter 200: Will Eventually Return_2 In a rush, a sudden stroke of inspiration flashed through his mind.

With the opportunity fleeting, Leon immediately conveyed the command to Death Claw.

Rather than waste time diving to chase the increasingly swift Desire Demon, he continued to fly parallel above it.

Leon quickly switched Garner to his right hand, holding it in reverse, raised the gun blade, twisted his waist on the Griffin’s back, and aimed ahead of the enemy’s flight path.

With a loud roar, the boiling knight’s power hurled the heavy magic gun unstoppably.

——Bang!

The Silver Magic Wand streaked through the air like a meteor, slicing through the sky like an air-to-ground missile, hurtling toward the Demon’s front.

But the Desire Demon merely glanced sideways and vibrated its wings, elegantly dodging the speeding spear.

The Demon slowed down its pace, as if mocking, turned in another direction, thinking it was laughable that he could hit it at that speed.

Time seemed to slow down under intense focus, and Leon watched Garner fall uselessly, yet he did not show dejection.

The Griffin’s rotating body switched to a side flight, and at the moment the position aligned with the Desire Demon and the falling magic gun, he immediately drew the Pseudo-Thorny Sword, pushed forcefully from the loosened reins on the Griffin’s back, and leapt high into the air.

“——Foul creature, you shall not escape!!”

With an angry roar to soothe the shock of free fall, he activated the Flying Thunder God Technique.

Sparking with lightning, Leon loudly drew the Demon’s attention.

The Molten Flame Technique transformed the blade in his hand into flames, and the knight accelerated by the Traction Technique descended with a fearless momentum.

The Desire Demon was initially startled, but glanced back, almost laughing at the suicidal leap chop he made mid-air after deliberately leaving the high saddle of the Griffin.

The Demon turned its wings, its nimble spinning body, as its right arm whipped out the Fire Snake Flame Whip fiercely, aiming to slash the sliding knight in two mid-air.

——Got it!

Leon’s gaze tightened, sword in one hand, his right hand stretching out, reversing the magic wand’s Traction Technique in an instant, causing the surrounding arcs of electricity to vanish, and his falling speed to slow.

The Garner that hadn’t landed exploded with azure lightning in mid-air, the spear halting abruptly, reversing like a bolt of lightning toward the back of the Desire Demon.

What!?

Feeling the whoosh from behind, the Desire Demon’s expression changed, only managing to twist its body to avoid vital spots, dodging to one side.

——Pfft!

Demon blood splattered.

Though Garner missed the Demon’s heart, it still pierced through the Desire Demon’s abdomen.

As Leon fell, he swung the Molten Flame Sword to parry the misaligned Flame Whip, and at the instant Garner pierced the Demon, he canceled the traction, deciding to leave the magic wand on the Demon’s wound to deepen the damage.

Seeing the treetops below getting closer and hearing the wind from his partner’s wings behind him, Leon immediately adjusted his posture.

As the Griffin flew past below, he reached out and grabbed the handlebar, swinging himself back onto Death Claw’s back in one swift motion.

Settling in, Leon extinguished the ostentatious flames on his sword, skillfully reversing the grip on the hilt, calling out in his heart.

“Lola.”

Too urgent to sheathe the sword, he clenched the hilt tightly in his left hand, for once forming a bow with his index and pinky fingers outstretched, right hand pinched together, aimed at the tumbling Desire Demon struggling to pull out the magic gun amidst bursts of electric shock.

The familiar sensation of boiling blood surged to his fingertips in response to the call.

But this time, the magically abundant Leon distinctly sensed the process of the Light Arrow condensing, as if his remaining magic element was suddenly drained by Lola.

The Light Arrow, blossoming into form between his hands, created the illusion of a stringless longbow appearing in his grasp.

Before Leon could marvel at the difference of this Isa’s Arrow, the Light Arrow whipped up winds to pierce the void.

The air exploded with concussive force, the magical arrow trailing a dazzling tail light, rocketing out from where it was aimed at his fingertips.

The not-too-distant Desire Demon was penetrated through the skull by Isa’s Arrow, its body plummeting down like a fallen wild goose.

Lowering the bow stance, Leon tugged the reins, prompting Death Claw into a dive.

The sound of two thuds landing in the woods echoed one after another, the Griffin thundering to a halt in front of the headless corpse pierced by the magic gun, claws gripping tightly, crouching low in vigilance.

Leon vaulted off the Griffin’s back saddle, raising a hand to summon.

Garner crackled with electric light, whizzing back into its master’s hand with a snap.

Adjusting the gun blade to full readiness, firing up the Molten Flame Blade, he stepped to the demon’s mangled corpse.

The head was blasted, the left arm torn away, and a large hole pierced in its belly by the magic gun.

But he knew this accursed thing wasn’t dead yet, if such a concept even applied.

At least the quasi-spiritual field hadn’t dissipated, indicating the Demon still maintained Emmon’s spirit…

Raising the Flame Blade, ready to fully incinerate the shell.

Suddenly, the corpse’s headless chest split open, revealing a mouth full of sharp teeth.

(Lorelette Language)

“….Ah~…..you’re right here~…Ha….how pitiful….”

A bizarrely accented mocking laugh began.

“~…..Have you been abandoned?…What are you struggling for?….It’s meaningless to stall…”

Leon paused slightly, unsurprised by the Demon’s indifference to failure, for according to the magic guidebook, these wretched things wouldn’t truly die, losing a vessel merely meant banishment back to the Spirit Realm.

Yet he was somewhat puzzled, what was this Demon babbling about?

What did it mean, right here?

“…I shall return eventually….We remain the rulers of this world….”

With a soft chuckle in the Demon’s voice, the remnants on the ground suddenly exploded forth.

The Desire Demon’s sole remaining right arm extended like a snake, its palm opening into another large mouth aiming to bite Leon’s face—

Garner’s Flame Blade slashed across.

Slicing through the laughing arm, Leon reversed his grip on the gun, plunging the Molten Flame Blade into the Demon’s torso.

——Boom!

The explosive inferno immediately engulfed the pale Demon Body.

Leon quietly watched the magical flames consume Emmon’s body possessed by the Desire Demon.

Listening as the still cheerful Demon’s voice gradually faded away, he finally looked up.

The chaotic darkness of the sky slowly peeled away, revealing the real horizon.

“….Aren’t you going to ask?”

“If you don’t want to say, then I won’t ask.” Leon replied.

Extinguishing the Flame Blade, he quickly mounted Death Claw’s back, urging the Griffin skyward.

Leon felt a premonition in his heart, yet preferred to trust Lola’s words more than those of the Demon.

In his consciousness, he sensed Canis’s state was fine nearby.

Without the quasi-spiritual field, as expected, the monster conjured by the Demon there shouldn’t maintain its existence either.

“I’ll tell you, later on.” Lola softly promised.
