Chapter 424 - 424 200 Will Eventually Return
424: Chapter 200: Will Eventually Return 424: Chapter 200: Will Eventually Return The Griffin spread its wings and flew over the two men’s heads.
Canis gazed into the distance at the werewolf creatures charging forward like cavalry.
Compared to the last time’s metallic giant, this enemy looked sinister and disgusting but didn’t make him feel as helpless as before.
Marveling at how that guy always attracted strange things he’d never seen before in his life, Canis took a heavy step with his steel foot and leaped ahead from Kovis’s side.
Seeing the Soul Knight summoned by his lord charge forward, the youth gripped his long sword with his right hand, controlled the flying sword with his left, and followed closely with dual swords.
Leon, in midair, leaned down and guided the Death Claw to skim low over the heads of the suture monsters, clearing a bloody path for the two behind him.
Carrying the gale, the Griffin lowered its massive claws like a hunt, sweeping up several werewolf creatures from the ground.
The quick-reacting half-human demons swung their swords, but before they could leave a scratch on the Griffin’s arm armor, they exploded into a mist of blood, torn into pieces by the beast’s hydraulic press-like claws.
A thunderous eagle’s cry erupted from the Griffin’s mouth.
It completely ignored what was underneath, keeping its eyes fixed on the ever-expanding pale humanoid.
Seeing the humanoid suddenly sprout fleshy wings and leap from the ground, the Griffin immediately raised its eagle head, tilted its massive wings, and faced the foe with its hefty chest armor as both front claws lunged at the opponent.
The Desire Demon flapped its wings, and an ominous purple magic light sprinkled like dust from the fleshy wings, whipping up a sinister wind as the demon’s body suddenly accelerated, soaring high to evade the Griffin’s fierce claw strikes and pecking attacks.
The mighty demon’s tail lashed at the Griffin’s front, leaving a shocking scratch on the war beast’s steel armor with an ear-piercing screeching sound.
The Desire Demon climbed higher into the sky, its wicked laughter fixed on the knight atop the Griffin; extending its sharp-clawed right hand with a slight shake, without any incantation, a double-forked magic fire snake coiled around its arm and whipped fiercely toward the opponent.
Behind the faceplate, Leon’s eyes stayed fixed on the familiar attack magic.
Hearing the crackling whip explode, Leon did not meet the flying fire snake with his staff head-on; instead, he raised his magic gun and released the Wind Hammer again.
The atmospheric impact, powerful enough to shatter a mortal, repelled both the fire whip and the demon’s body.
In the whistling wind, the large and small figures in midair passed by each other in the blink of an eye.
Fiercely pulling the reins, he commanded the Griffin to fly sideways.
Leon looked up, his gaze locked onto the demon that climbed higher again after being repelled by the wind.
“….You….
have seen her~….
You know where she is~…
I have seen it….”
Hearing the whispers sounding in his ears, Leon remained indifferent.
“…
I have seen your desires, mortal…
why not embrace me, fulfill your wishes, everything you see can become reality…”
The other party suddenly switched from using Lorelette Language to Felu Language.
Are they afraid I don’t understand foreign languages?
Though suspicious, Leon still commanded the Griffin to fly horizontally, watching the Desire Demon fly higher and not responding.
The memories of countless films and games from his previous life told him that when dealing with such things, there was no need to engage no matter what they said—to simply crush them was the only wise response.
Leon called upon the Death Claw to flap its wings and charge rapidly toward the demon.
“…Alright…..~…..Consuming your blood and flesh can also reveal her current whereabouts…”
The Desire Demon chuckled, using the young Mage’s soul to manifest, not particularly craving another mortal vessel.
The demon’s wings on its back halted briefly; without chanting or a Dharma Seal, ornate demon runes instantly spread across the fleshy wings.
With thoughts shaping the magic technique, they were drawn like butterfly patterns, and flares appeared, sizzling as they blasted out, spiraling towards the Griffin swiftly.
Watching the incoming magic entity, Leon dared not be complacent and commanded the Death Claw to evade.
The giant beast’s climbing posture rapidly rolled like a drum, easily dodging the direct shot of the magic arrow.
——Boom!
The passing magic light crashed amidst the forest, causing an explosion akin to artillery, uprooting broken tree branches and smeared dust.
Having missed one strike, the Desire Demon didn’t have time to launch a second; it emitted a sharp shriek, dove with wings flared, and lashed its whip downward.
Facing the wind gushing into the faceplate, Leon did not dare to blink, steadily raising the molten-flaming magic gun in front of him as a guard.
The two winged giants swiftly converged and crossed paths.
The nimble demon executed the same trick, toppling over to evade the Griffin’s fierce claws and large beak, directly lashing its flame whip from its back.
However, this time, before the fire snake in its hand could hit the rider on the Griffin’s back, the demon suddenly felt a tug on its tail, with its body being abruptly dragged backward.
Leon wielded the magic gun, the searing molten flame blade deflecting the Desire Demon’s flame whip that nearly brushed past the Griffin’s nape, while the Death Claw clamped down on the demon’s long tail, lifting its massive eagle beak, powerfully throwing the demon’s body downward.
The Griffin’s wings pressed down with the wind, slowing its ascent, with the enormous beast’s claw capturing the demon’s body.
The talons embedded themselves, and the Skystream overlord wouldn’t tolerate this enemy’s repeated provocations, taking a sharp bite toward the demon’s horned head.
The Desire Demon swung its head to the side, letting the giant beast bite its left shoulder instead.
“Humph-humph, hehe~!” The hurt Desire Demon instead chuckled mockingly, with its long tail sneaking past the Griffin’s forelimbs like a snake, poised to stab into the giant beast’s avian eye.
Only this fierce war beast was the greatest threat, and once it lost its ability to fly, he could slowly torment the overconfident knight to death.
Yet the Death Claw was not fighting alone; the ever-vigilant Leon sensed the demon’s perilous counterattack.
Leaning swiftly from the high saddle, he invertedly held the magic gun and stabbed it precisely.
The searing molten flame blade severed the demon’s tail whip that attempted a sneak attack.
With this, a section of the thick demon’s tail was chopped off, and the Griffin’s giant beak clamped down on the demon’s shoulder, viciously tearing its left arm off alive.
The Desire Demon’s face showed an angry hue; it opened its mouth and suddenly emitted piercing explosions, sounding like terrifying sound waves twisting into the brain, leaving the Griffin and Leon’s minds momentarily blank.
Utilizing this fleeting moment, the demon monstrously dragged its wound, breaking free from the Death Claw’s restraint.
The weight on its claw lightened, and the Griffin fluttered its wings, shaking its head to clear its senses.
Feeling outraged, it roared furiously, giving chase once more to the low-flying demon.
Leon on the high saddle recovered from dizziness with a soothing cool sensation.
“…Quick, chase it down, don’t let it distance itself to escape, for if a cunning Desire Demon intends to hide, solving this area could likely become very challenging,” Lola warned.
Leon, who had regained clarity, responded in his heart, hurriedly lifting his faceplate to widen his view, searching for the figure of the Desire Demon below.
Seeing the demon with severed tail and arm flying lower and lower into the woodland under the Griffin’s pursuit, Leon frowned.
Once it distanced itself, it wouldn’t be like luring a brainless Angry Demon out from chaotic time and space—it would be challenging to tease out a brainy Desire Demon.
