Knights and Magic Wand
Chapter 157 - 157 93 Take Care of Your Body_3

157: Chapter 93: Take Care of Your Body_3 157: Chapter 93: Take Care of Your Body_3 Shin Armor wrapped around the steel boots pressed firmly onto the struggling Living Corpse beneath, as Leon held his sharp spear in reverse grip and thrust it through the howling wolf’s head.

With a swishing sound as he pulled the spearhead out, he wiped the dried brains and fragmented flesh that had adhered to the blade on the ground.

After cleaning the spear tip, Leon looked up and surveyed the wolf corpses that littered the forest floor.

The resilience of these Undead was indeed much weaker than in the Spirit-like Field, not like in the Cursed Land, where they could still move even after being decapitated.

But this scale, although not harmful to them, a group of knights clad in armor, if by chance they moved beyond the forest into the village, the small community would likely suffer a calamity.

They did indeed perform a good deed in advance for the village outside the forest.

Leon thought this and couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, only hoping that groups of Undead on this scale were a rare phenomenon.

Regardless of whatever grudge existed between his Sealing Lord and Baron Gunnar from the outside territories, those villagers living honestly on this land were certainly innocent.

Olivia flicked her right hand lightly to shake off the residue from her sword blade, sheathed her sword, and then hurried to Leon’s side, asking with concern, “You’re not hurt, are you, Leon?”

“You talk as if to mock me, don’t forget that Kovis and I also fought our way out of this forest,” Leon joked with the girl.

While bantering with the girl, Leon saw Knight Balfe approaching them, carrying a Battle Axe.

The Scar-faced Knight couldn’t help but ask Olivia, “Child, who taught you this swordsmanship at such a young age?”

“I…”

The girl had yet to respond when Leon interjected.

“Lord Balfe, Olivia is my friend.

Don’t tell me you’re tempted to poach her because of her skill,” Leon teased.

“Do not misunderstand, Lord Leon, I was merely curious about your little maiden.

With her astounding Martial Arts, she could directly join the battlefield and perhaps even fight her way to a knighthood title.

You are indeed fortunate to have such a capable…

uh, friend,” Knight Balfe stammered with his scarred old face, not wanting the golden boy in front of the Sealing Lord to misunderstand him, he suppressed his curiosity and did not pursue how the girl had acquired such remarkable skills.

Olivia, standing aside, felt somewhat peculiar in her heart.

This knight, what did he say…

What does “your little maiden” mean?

It sounded strange.

However, it seemed Leon had heard something interesting from Balfe.

After the group reorganized and continued to explore the forest, Leon approached the Scar-faced Knight and asked softly, “My lord, in Orland, can women also be knighted?”

Knight Balfe looked over, puzzled by the question, “As long as they don’t dabble in spells as Magicians, women can certainly become knights through their combat merits.

Why?

Don’t tell me it’s not like that in Seryan?”

Leon was momentarily at a loss.

As a commoner, the original host had no knowledge of the rules and traditions of Seryan nobility, but it seemed from this conversation that the Seryan Kingdom’s situation was likely similar.

It was unexpected that on the Western Continent, which was everywhere feudal, there was still no discrimination against gender when it came to avenues of ascending ranks.

Indeed, as long as one had the strength to match or even surpass others in force and loyalty, capable of fighting and slaying enemies for their lord, these lords wouldn’t care whether their knights were male or female.

Along the way, they encountered several more attacks by undead beasts, but aside from slowing their pace, these creatures were unable to inflict any harm on them.

The search for the road could not be hastened, and it wasn’t until dusk that Leon led the group to the old forest road that was both level and wide.

By now, Balfe and his Baron’s Guards had largely let down their guard, basically believing the fact that the Nightmare Forest’s curse had dissipated.

After all, aside from the mystery posed by the Living Corpses, and the quiet that was a bit too quiet, there was no difference from the outside world; they didn’t lose their way, there were no terrifying sights, and they didn’t encounter any of the strange demons from the stories.

Stepping onto the road, everyone mounted their warhorses to continue on.

Considering the encroachment of night and the desire to avoid entanglement with the undead, and taking into account the proximity of the deserted city Leon had mentioned, they decided not to camp but to travel along the ancient road throughout the night.

Into the night, under the starry sky, the group carried torches over the mountain passes and finally caught sight of the silent river valley bathed in moonlight.

Having already seen the fortress town clearly, Leon and Kovis naturally did not react much.

But the closer the others got to the smooth walls of the city, reflected by the faint moonlight, the more they felt surges of astonishment and excitement.

Olivia was merely amazed by the mysterious and novel scenery before her eyes.

Yet before even entering, Knight Balfe and his Guards Cavalry already understood the immense value of this fortress.

It wasn’t just a simple wooden wall settlement.

To create a fortress town from scratch, complete with a full wall defense system, would cost enough to deplete the coffers of a wealthy noble family over several generations.

The time consumed by such an endeavor was even more staggering; twenty to thirty years would be considered supernaturally fast, and it might take from grandfather to grandson to complete.

And as Balfe and the others carried torches through the Village and into the town, they were even more amazed by the orderly streets and facilities within the mysterious city.

Compared to this, the Thorns Flower family’s Farolis City seemed nothing more than a poor and dirty rural shelter.

Quickly discarding the disrespectful thoughts he had of the Sealing Lord’s city, the Scar-faced Knight grimaced and looked toward the youth beside him.

Merely on account of this city he presented, Balfe could not imagine what reward Lord Eriv ought to give the boy, to match the contribution he had made to the Thorns Flower family.

There were no traces of Wandering Souls in the city, so the group casually found a civilian building resembling a home to rest in for the night.

Since Leon still planned on making a secretive visit to the Mage Tower to see Miss Lola that night, not wanting to expose his movements, he decided against staying with Balfe and the others.

Therefore, he and his two companions pried open the door of another house next door.

He told Kovis and Olivia to go inside first to find rooms, while Leon sought out Balfe to inform him that they would be resting separately from the group.

Little did he know, upon hearing this, the Scar-faced Knight stroked his beard, his old face revealing a meaningful smile.

Balfe thought of the golden-haired girl’s beautiful face…

and even the handsome young Attendant.

It seemed Lord Leon had quite the fascination for golden beauties.

The old knight could understand, but still patted Leon on the shoulder, giving a heartfelt admonition.

“…

Lord Leon, you’re still young.

Having achieved this, there will be no end to good days ahead, but remember that the body is a Knight’s capital.

Mind your restraint…”

“???”
