Despite the veracity, upon hearing the familiar town name, the villagers hesitated and momentarily lowered their bows.

After all, that majestic and towering warhorse, as well as the gorgeous sword hanging at the waist of the armored person on horseback, were in themselves a kind of relatively speaking identity proof.

The bow-wielding villager quickly bowed his head, “Sorry to offend you, my lord, there have been some horrifying things appearing in the forest recently; we couldn’t help but take extra precautions.”

Are the Undead already wandering out of the forest?

Anxious, Leon hastily asked, “Where is this?

Do you know how to get to Selva, Platon, Longka Village, or Farolis City from here?

Is it far?”

“This is Baron Gunnar’s territory, my lord, Farolis is to the east, you haven’t strayed too far,” the villager on the wooden tower pointed in the direction and answered.

“Longka Village is also very close; just go around that mountain forest and follow the path, you should arrive before dark.”

With the direction clarified, Leon immediately turned his horse around.

However, before leaving, after a thought, he still took the opportunity to caution the villager atop the wooden tower, “When I got lost, I indeed noticed more and more .

.

.

uh .

.

.

‘monsters’ appearing around the forest.

You’d better notify your lord as soon as possible and have knights lead troops to clear them out.”

Leaving behind a warning, Leon, with Kovis, continued on their way.

Going around the woodland, it wasn’t long before the horse ran, and just as the sky was turning a bit dim, he saw Longka Village nestled beside a forest stream.

Finally back on familiar territory, Leon couldn’t help but excitedly spur his horse forward.

Although he had only been to this territory a few times and wasn’t very familiar with it, the strange scent wafting from the tanners’ courtyard homes remained vivid in Leon’s memory.

However, before he even entered the village, he saw two young men carrying hunting bows and short swords running up and blocking the way.

As the newly appointed Knight Lord of the nearby area, Leon’s face had not yet been memorized by these villagers, as he usually stayed in Selva and had only roamed the territory of Lokhak a few times.

But he noticed that the previous small village’s caution was not an exception.

Obviously, human settlements near the Cursed Land had already had villagers witness traces of Living Corpses.

Fortunately, it seemed that, for now, the two villages so close to the Nightmare Forest only had ordinary villagers patrolling and had not alarmed the lord’s army, implying that there wasn’t yet too much danger from the Undead attacking the villages.

They were just in time.

Leon felt relieved; he still had time to think of a way to prevent the potential threat from the Living Corpses.

After clearly explaining his identity to the hunters, Leon unexpectedly learned that Lokhak was currently in the territory.

It seemed Miss Lola was indeed right; he and Kovis had entered the Spirit-like Field, and though it felt like less than a day had passed, unbeknownst to them, much time had elapsed, and others had already safely returned to the Orland Kingdom ahead of them.

Dismounting, Leon entered Longka Village and went to the communal house where the villager said the Lord Lokhak was temporarily residing.

As soon as he entered the courtyard, he saw the familiar tall young man swinging a heavy halberd at a target wrapped in rotten leather.

The heavily nicked wooden post was chopped up beyond recognition, appearing to merely be an outlet for his simple venting of worries and frustrations.

“Lokhak, I’m back!”

“!”

Hearing the almost illusory familiar voice beside him, Lokhak steadied the long halberd in his hand and turned around.

His naive face suddenly lit up with joy.

“Leon!——!!”

He threw down the halberd and ran up, laughing loudly and hugging his long-separated friend tightly, “Haha!

I knew you’d be alright!”

“Hey, of course, you’ve seen how much luck I have; what could go wrong with just a little crisis?” Leon boasted, vigorously patting his good friend’s back.

Lokhak, holding back his excitement and joy, released his friend and then noticed the blond young man behind him.

Seeing that this friend who helped his sister get out of trouble was also safe and sound, he couldn’t help but beam with joy, “You too, brother!

It’s good all are safe and sound!”

Kovis shrugged his shoulders, quietly smiling, “Thanks for your concern.”

“You both must be tired?

Come inside and rest, I’ll have someone bring some food and drink in a while.”

Lokhak tightly clasped Leon’s shoulder, leading the dusty duo back to the large house where he was staying.

Leon inquired about the others, “Are Azeryan and your sister doing okay?

Did you encounter any dangers on the road back?”

“They’re in great shape!

But they’re in Selva; I only came over to Longka yesterday…

Actually, you might have truly drawn away the pursuers.

Although we took a long route east then north, we didn’t encounter any dangers.

Azeryan had our path through Kantadar practically in awe, all the way until entering Mamor County, which was still at war, before encountering a bit of trouble…” Lokhak detailed the journey they had taken.

Turns out, their route back to the North was still through Mamor County where the three originally began their escape.

Only this time, they didn’t stumble into the Cursed Land again; instead, they took a backroad into the western part of Mamor County, already occupied by the Orland people.

Azeryan first made contact alone with the army of the Northern Kingdom and, after proving his identity, even met Baron Eriv, who was still in the frontline camp, and managed to escort Elena out of Kantadar safely.

“Did the two of you loop around from the west through Bunelrots County on your return?” Lokhak pulled chairs out for his friends and asked curiously as they sat down.

Only then did Leon remember that in the initial urgency, he had not even had the chance to explain the escape route on his end to his friends.
