Chapter 991: Chapter 978: If you can group fight, why go for a one-on-one duel? “You’re seeking death!” The man, with half his face smeared red by the blood trickling from his forehead, twisted his face in anger, the scarlet in his eyes becoming increasingly distinct. Behind him, his clothing scarcely concealed a swelling bulge as though something was about to burst through.
Bang!
Still gripping his hair, Muria showed no mercy as he smashed the man’s head against the wall again with slightly increased force, causing half of the man’s head to become embedded in it.
A small dent formed in the solid wall, and the man’s skull began to warp and twist, one of his eyes appearing almost ready to pop out. With such a heavy blow to the head, the man was now dazed, and the bulging in his clothing ceased.
Witnessing this scene, Muria glanced around before dragging the man into a more concealed, dim corner. Moments later, the immaculate Muria emerged, continuing to search for his next target.
As Muria kept clearing out the Ghouls hidden within this bar, the Different Species running it finally became alert to the anomaly. They quickly identified Muria, who was wreaking havoc in the bar, through surveillance.
“Manager, someone is hunting our Fellow People in our venue!” The Different Species quickly reported the situation; then they promptly informed the boss behind the scenes.
“Oh? How many of them? And how many of our Fellow People have we lost?” The silver-haired middle-aged man glanced at the men and women of varying demeanor opposite him and asked nonchalantly.
“Only one person. Up to now, five of our Fellow People have failed to respond, and three bodies have been discovered, confirmed dead.”
“It seems we have a tough one. Begin evacuating the guests. I’ll take care of him when I return!”
After issuing his orders to his subordinates, the manager looked up at the other few “Humans” at the banquet, his face displaying a lightly apologetic smile:
“I’m sorry, but there’s a bit of trouble at my place that I need to resolve. Please excuse me for now. We can meet another time.”
The men and women at the banquet, of distinct demeanors, watched the white-haired manager take his leave, exchanging glances before revealing subtle smiles,
“Hehe, he personally has to go handle it, and he calls it a ‘little trouble.'”
“I have a feeling the manager will need our help. Alone, he will die,” an old man with eyes covered in black cloth spoke up.
“Are you sure?” The others, upon hearing the old man with an almost imperceptible presence speak, turned their gazes to him, showing solemn expressions.
“Do I have any reason to deceive you?” the old man retorted.
“Then it seems we need to follow and take a look. There are only a few mid-ranking Ghouls in this city. We’ve already lost one recently. If we lose more, life for our Fellow People in this city will become even tougher.”
“But if it’s the government making a move, there’s no point in us going. We’d just be marching to our deaths alongside the manager!”
“I’ve said it before; he’s too ostentatious. So many Different Species gathered in one place for a long time—the government will never tolerate such a group to exist.”
“Let’s follow and see what’s going on, anyway. It might not be the government. We can intervene as necessary!”
…
By now, Muria was no longer committing assassinations haphazardly. Instead, he chose an unoccupied booth and sat there quietly drinking plain water, for there was no need to kill anymore—he had successfully captured the attention of the Different Species in the bar.
Recently, the once boisterous bar had started to quiet down, as humans there seeking fun were being ushered out in groups.
“Clearing out, huh? That works for me.” Sitting in the booth and sensing over a dozen gazes from around, Muria’s expression remained unchanged.
Before long, surrounded by a dozen men and women, a tall and burly white-haired middle-aged man took a seat opposite Muria.
“I just received a message from my subordinates that someone is causing trouble on my turf. I had many scenarios in mind, but I never expected the troublemaker to be a young man like you. What’s your name?”
Seeing the middle-aged man who brought an unspoken pressure, Muria’s brow raised slightly as he announced his name, “Jelos Douglas!”
“A member of the Four Great Families of the Federation, huh? No wonder you’ve got the guts to kill my people on my turf!” Hearing Muria’s name, the silver-haired middle-aged man was slightly taken aback, then spoke slowly, his face unconsciously showing a hint of gravity.
The deterrent power of the federal top Great family was enough to counteract the contempt that people unconsciously felt when they saw Muria’s youthful face.
“May I ask, why have you come here to kill?”
“Just a clan assessment task!” Muria replied casually, but his tone revealed an anger and an unmistakable fear on the faces of the Ghouls that had slowly surrounded him.
“Could you elaborate?”
“Eliminate all Different Species hidden in this bar.” Muria stated his mission, then glanced at the Ghouls who had encircled him and smiled, “Everyone should be gathered now, right? Then let’s begin! I need to go back to sleep after I’m done here.”
“Is there no room for compromise?” The silver-haired middle-aged bar manager slowly stood up, truly not wanting to provoke a top family of the federation.
“Why ask when you already know?” As Muria stood up, a faint white Flames surged around him, a mild oppressive force emanated from his body.
“Even if you are a mere kid who hasn’t grown his hair out and a member of a Great family, so what?” A charming man immediately released his own Kakugan Tails, wrapped them around his arms, and charged towards Muria with eyes full of resentment.
Boom!
Muria remained unfazed as the low-tier Ghoul charged at him with great momentum. He extended a finger and lightly tapped forward, a solid stream of Qi burst from his fingertip. Blood splattered, a clear through-and-through hole appeared right in the center of the Ghoul’s forehead.
The creature’s vital organs were destroyed, and the life force of the Ghoul, which had yet to evolve, dimmed instantly. The light in its eyes faded rapidly, and it finally staggered and fell to the ground, becoming a lifeless corpse.
“All of you can come at once!” Muria said, unfazed even after instantly killing a Ghoul with a single flick. Since obtaining the Martial Arts Classics and becoming a Formal Martial Artist, he had begun demanding various martial resources from his clan relentlessly.
Usually, these were cores formed from the condensed blood energy of Native species, such as hearts, Crystal Cores, or plants that had absorbed the essence of life from particular locations.
It was precisely because he had demanded so much from the clan that the Douglas family had given him this assessment task to see if he was worth the investment.
After getting these resources, his Martial Arts cultivation had grown stronger day by day because once Martial Arts cultivation was on the right track, it consisted primarily of the accumulation of internal Qi, which could be accomplished quickly with external Resources.
The amount of Qi accumulated during this time determined the strength or weakness of the Flames cultivated in the next phase, and Muria’s “All Heavens Constellation Path” was known for producing incredibly robust Qi during this phase, exceeding that of other classics.
“All Heavens Constellation Path” allowed the cultivation of multiple, or even up to three digits of Qi Wheels, akin to its name, All Heavens Star Cluster, regarding the human body as the boundless Void, opening the orifices, condensing Qi Wheels, with each Qi Wheel representing a shining star in the Starry sky.
This method of Martial Arts cultivation had a profound intent; unfortunately, its creator had limited vision, leading to many imperfections. But it also showed he was a person of extraordinary talent.
“Although you are a scion of a Great family, since you want to kill us, we can’t possibly surrender without a fight. So I’m sorry, but everyone attack him together!”
Seeing Muria effortlessly kill one of his men with a raise of his hand, the silver-haired bar manager hesitated no longer; he directly called his men to join him. They were prepared to fight, despite Muria’s threat to annihilate them en masse.
Facing the swarming Different Species, Muria pulled out his White Brilliance Spear with one hand, drew a large arc, left a lasting trail of Light and Shadow, and blocked the majority of the attacks.
With his other hand gripping the Purple Night Sword, he slashed out over a dozen Sword Qi in an instant. With one strike for each, he immediately killed over a dozen low-tier Ghouls…
Sword Qi crisscrossed and the spear’s brilliance swept across; in less than ten minutes, Muria had cleared all the riff-raff surrounding him, and as a consequence, the Flames wrapping around his body had thinned a bit.
Then Muria turned his undivided attention to the silver-haired bar manager, who posed the greatest threat. By then, the bar manager had fully unleashed his Kakugan Tails, undergoing a massive transformation into a being resembling a Native species beast, crawling on all fours, constantly lunging at Muria.
Where this Ghoul passed, walls crumbled, and chaos ensued. This was his territory, but in his frenzy of Destruction, he was more destructive than even Muria.
Because up to this point, Muria had not left a single mark of destruction in the bar; all his attacks had hit only the targets he had intended to hit.
“Your body is quite tough, but I can still cut through!” Muria looked at the four-armed, two-legged monster before him, his face showing a hint of ease. In front of him, breaking through a defense meant certain death. Such was his confidence as a master of techniques.
Finally, after battling for a full three hours, the mid-tier Ghoul was overthrown by Muria, his rapid regenerative abilities brutally cut off by Muria.
“You’re quite understanding,” Muria remarked as he stepped on the silver-haired bar manager’s chest, who had reverted to his human form, and glanced towards a darker corner of the bar, sensing several presences rapidly retreating.
