Chapter 960 - 960 948 Mutual Scheming

Chapter 960: Chapter 948: Mutual Scheming Chapter 960: Chapter 948: Mutual Scheming As a white rainbow streaked across the Void, clusters of radiant and spectacular fireworks exploded in the dark space, and this scene also fell into the eyes of Earth Star Humans. The spectacle was so vast that it could be seen from tens of thousands of miles away.

If humans in a good observation position looked up, they could see a somewhat thin line of white light appearing from afar, then streaking across the entire sky at an extremely fast speed, and where it passed, clusters of dazzling fireworks appeared.

“So beautiful!” On Earth Star, a couple in the midst of a kiss looked up at the brilliant scene in the sky, and the woman couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration.

“This must be a performance for the 600th-anniversary celebration of the Federation establishment!” The man said uncertainly after seeing the scene, as the locations of these “fireworks” were just too strange. A linear distribution wasn’t appealing; the planner must have been too silly!

Earth Star Civilization had been at peace for too long, and they hadn’t experienced war in a very long time. They didn’t even know what the sight of a battleship exploding over their heads would look like.

Thus, a somewhat ludicrous scene occurred. When the attack from afar destroyed thousands of battleships, the final blaze of the explosion was mistaken by these humans as a fireworks display.

While most Earth Star Humans remained blissfully ignorant, venting dissatisfaction with the “fireworks” show organized by the federal government, the administrative institutions of Earth Star Civilization instantly became fraught with panic, for they knew the truth.

Meanwhile, beyond the Earth Star World, it was a scene of utter desolation, with countless shattered remnants of battleships drifting in the cold dark Void, and the remaining battleships frantically activating their maximum energy defense stances.

What truly frightened these remaining battleships was that the Satellite City they had just been guarding at the center now had a gaping hole running through it, and at the edges of the hole, they could see the molten golden-red iron caused by high energy.

Their Satellite City had been destroyed by an unknown attack from afar. Of course, the destruction of a Satellite City built with an enormous amount of manpower and resources was a source of immense sorrow.

But what truly incited shock and anger was that their highest leader of the Earth Star Federation had just been giving a speech inside that Satellite City.

And after the Satellite City was breached, the figure of their supreme leader vanished without a trace, seemingly meeting the same fate in the dark Void as his colleagues who perished in the attack, leaving no remains.

The implications of this were unfathomable, filling people with a mixture of rage and chills. Anyone with a brain could tell the attack was aimed at the highest leader of Earth Star Civilization, and the destroyed battleships were just collateral damage.

In that assault, thousands of battleships were destroyed; in fact, almost all the battleships within the trajectory of the assault had been alerted, but the attack of the Divine Flash was so fast that it left no time for the ships’ pilots.

If the helmsmen of the battleships hadn’t made an immediate decision to change course, instead of waiting for the captain’s commands, they’d have ended up as floating debris in the Void, which was their inevitable fate.

Of course, those who left wreckage in the wake of the attack were considered lucky; many more were completely obliterated in the assault, not even leaving debris behind.

“All militar officers of the Earth Star Federation, I am the Speaker of the highest council of the Earth Heart Federation!”

As the remaining fleets outside the Earth Star World, originally prepared for inspection, were thrown into chaos, a familiar face reappeared before them, followed by the sound of his voice tinged with a hint of anger echoing in their ears.

“I hereby declare He Ya, Jorge, and thirty-nine other legislators as traitors to Earth Star Civilization!

These thirty-nine legislators, in pursuit of longer lifespans, secretly funded the superpowered creatures of Pandora World, betraying Earth Star Civilization’s core technology to Pandora’s indigenous intelligent species repeatedly, to satisfy their personal pursuits and desires.

This attack was orchestrated by these thirty-nine legislators in collusion with Pandora’s extraordinary beings, providing coordinates in an attempt to assassinate me and subvert the Earth Star Federation government, appeasing Pandora’s superpowered creatures with the interests of Earth Star Civilization.

Hereby, I officially order the arrest of He Ya, Jorge, and the thirty-nine legislators, stripping them of their political rights and personal assets. Moreover, in response to the indigenous species of Pandora World attempting to overthrow the federal government, I have decided to respond with war!”

The sudden appearance of the Speaker and his statement left the entire military of the Earth Star Federation speechless with shock; so many traitors had emerged within the highest echelons of their civilization, and these traitors wanted to stage a coup, trying to sell out Earth Star’s interests.

But after the Speaker explained the cause and effect of the sudden attack, some officers and soldiers began to look at him with suspicion because from his tone and posture, it was evident that the Speaker knew of the impending attack.

Yet he had pretended to know nothing, carrying on with the military parade as usual, and in the end, because so many battleships were unprepared for the attack, they were destroyed mid-air, resulting in massive casualties.

If they had received prior notice, such a tragic loss of life would have been absolutely impossible. But the Speaker who knew of the message beforehand hadn’t notified them at all.

“I have decided to start the war against Pandora World right now, just before this war commences, please join me in a three-minute silence for the soldiers who have just perished in that horrific attack,” he said.

As some officials and soldiers began to have reservations about their Speaker, the image of the Speaker projected on the silver screen began to speak again.

“I’m deeply sorry for the officers and soldiers who died in this attack. Although I had advance notice of a terrorist attack targeting me, I had no idea when or where it would take place, or how it would unfold.

They died as a result of my involvement, but let all officials and soldiers not direct their hatred at me. Those who caused their deaths are the councilors who betrayed our civilization and the superpowered creatures of Pandora World. Direct your righteous anger at them!”

“The Speaker is indeed impressive, seeing through my plans so clearly. It seems I have a traitor among my men, and I need to personally conduct a purge now!” said Councilor Jorge Viotti, laughing as he watched the Speaker branding him a traitor to civilization on the light screen, unconcerned about his dire situation.

“If he just wanted to purge us Dove Faction members who disagree with him, that would be one thing, but now he even wants to take this opportunity to wage war on Pandora World! I really don’t know whether to call him stupid or braindead, haha!”

“That Overlord-level creature beside King Uhl, what does he have to deal with it? This is a creature that can’t be killed even if piled with lives! Go ahead and fight. I’ll be waiting for the day you fall!”

Laughing in a secret room somewhere on Earth Star, Jorge said, “To call me a traitor to civilization, when you lead all our civilization’s armies into conflict with the deities of Pandora World and fail, you will become the criminal of our civilization! Humph!”

“A bunch of cowards, actually relying on trade to obtain Life Crystals from the hands of deities!”

Beyond the Earth Star World, after the Speaker of the Federation mobilized the entire army, he closed the communication in front of him and his face showed a look of disdain.

He was indeed very envious of those councilors who traded for Life Crystals from the deities of Pandora World. He too desired an immortal life, but as the supreme leader, he was unwilling to obtain longevity in that manner.

“The deity from Earth Star and his army should have been brought up to the atmosphere by those guys by now, right? With that in mind, I can use some weapons without any hesitation. Considering the life force of a deity, they should not die from it, right?”

As the Speaker tilted his head in thought, he had already obtained advance knowledge of the assassination targeting him through certain channels, but he did not preemptively disrupt the assassination. Instead, he took advantage of it. He intended to capture that deity.

Even if King Uhl was a deity who could grant immortality, he was not willing to place himself in the position of a supplicant. He wanted to command the deity to extend his lifespan from the position of a superior.

“I hope they don’t kill it, but no matter, even if it dies, I don’t believe Pandora World has only one deity! Later, I can use its corpse to intimidate other deities.”

Outside Pandora World

“How is this possible?” The female officer, thrown out of her cabin by Muria, stared at the light screen in front of her in shock. She had just calculated the attack target of Shifanlin’s Void God Flash and realized that the monster’s attack was exactly passing through the coordinates she had just received.

As the female officer’s world view shattered, in a narrow space on the battleship, an unremarkable-looking officer showed a resolute expression. He took out a small device from his chest and gently pressed a button on it. Immediately, a message was sent out swiftly.

“For the Federation!”

The officer who pressed the button whispered quietly and then his face showed a resigned expression. At the same time, high above the Earth Star World, a vast war machine slowly unfolded its ferocious posture, and then series of pure white, radiant halos lit up. Their brilliance was so intense it could rival the light of the sun.
