Chapter 942 - 942 930 Like a Deity

Chapter 942: Chapter 930: Like a Deity Chapter 942: Chapter 930: Like a Deity “Gro, why would King Uhl order us to capture these people from the sky?”

Concealed among the Tree Crown, wearing a garment made from leaves, a Baghda tribesman whispered quietly to his companion.

“I don’t know,” Gro replied to his companion’s question in a crisp and straightforward manner,

“Not knowing doesn’t mean you can’t make a guess. Although King Uhl’s orders seem nonsensical, there are still clues to be followed.”

“I’m not interested. What’s the use of guessing? What can we do about it even if we guess right? Not just anyone can become king. We just need to guard the king’s side and faithfully execute every order he gives.”

Having observed the various changes made by Muria’s leadership within the Ayalei Forest tribes over the years, a staunchly loyal Baghda replied.

Goo goo goo!

Just as the two Baghda were about to continue their conversation, suddenly, a clear bird call came from the distant leaves, signaling them to cease their discussion. This was their agreed-upon signal, indicating a target was approaching.

“Wow! So this is the World of Pandora! It’s really beautiful here. If possible, I truly wish I could remove my protective shield and take a deep breath of the fresh air of this world!”

Not far from the base, in a jungle, a team in Protective Suits was walking slowly between the trees. At this moment, a blonde, blue-eyed girl, holding a recorder in her hands, curiously looked around and let out a chirm like that of a lark.

“Yaji, if you want to die, go ahead and take off the protective shield,” replied a female companion, joking but with a noticeable hint of malice in her voice, upon hearing the girl’s sigh.

“Mina, what are you talking about? The atmosphere of Pandora World contains trace Elements that are lethal to us Humans. Without the protection of the Protective Suits, we wouldn’t be able to survive more than ten minutes here.”

The team leader, a tall, young woman with black hair and a stern expression, chastised them and then turned to the energetic, hopping, full-of-life blonde girl Yaji,

“Yaji, you remember the name of this world, Pandora. This world is indeed very beautiful, but behind this beauty lurks dangers that could prove fatal. You should be careful not only of the air in this world but also of its Plants and animals, which could take your life at any moment.”

“Understood, Dr. Allen!” The two girls bowed their heads and acknowledged their Mentor’s reprimand.

“Those words I just spoke weren’t just for the two of them but for all of you,” Allen Holman looked sternly at her students as she spoke.

“Alright, let’s start our practical work. Observe all the Plant life around you, and compare them with the data in your recorders. If you find any Plant not listed in the database, report it to me immediately, and you’ll earn the corresponding credits!”

Focused on botany and pharmacology, Dr. Allen began to assign tasks to her students, most of whom were female, as the number of males was less than a third of the females, due to her research field.

She was devoted to the study of herbal medicines, formulating drugs designed to maintain vigor, slow physical decline, and even extend Lifespan.

And because of her research, she had caught the attention of some big figures, enabling her to bring her students to this base, which aimed at extracting energy minerals, on a Spaceship.

While this doctor, consumed by a crazy pursuit of youth and a complexion that defied age, took her students on a Plant collection trip in the Yikong Human World, hoping to concoct her envisioned longevity medicine using the flora of a Different World, pairs of eyes hidden in the vegetation were watching them…

“Ah!” A brief and frantic scream rang out in the jungle before abruptly stopping, returning to silence. The team, engrossed in the exotic and beautiful Plants of this Different World, was immediately startled.

“Who let out that scream just now?” The leading Dr. Allen asked anxiously, her voice betraying a trace of uncontrollable trembling.

“Reporting, Mentor, that was Lar’s voice!” At this, a male student raised his hand, trembling. He was good friends with Lar and familiar with his voice, as they would sometimes scream while playing pranks on one another.

“Lar? Where is he?” Dr. Allen asked in a rush, “What happened to him? Find him!”

“Lar!” “Lar!”

Cries filled with fear echoed through the jungle, and soon, as they were not far apart, they found a recorder left in the underbrush.

“This is Lar’s recorder!” A male student picked up the device from the ground, revealing a look of fear in his eyes because he couldn’t see any trace of Lar.

“Contact the base immediately!” Dr. Allen, discovering one of her students missing, made a decisive command, looking towards the four Soldiers tasked with their protection.

Seeing the student go missing, one of the Soldiers didn’t immediately follow the doctor’s orders but instead raised his rifle and surveyed the surroundings, aware of the dangers of this world from having been here for two years.

And after not finding any imminent danger, one Soldier attempted to contact the base; however, after several tries, he realized with horror that only static noise was coming from the communicator—they had lost communication with the base.

“There are high-energy creatures around us, and the energy fields they emit have disrupted our communication with the base!”

The soldier’s cry of alarm echoed through the air; there were many reasons for communications to be disrupted, but there was only one reason this close to the base.

As his words barely faded, a stone wrapped in Glorious Power flew from afar and smashed heavily into his back, instantly destroying the power unit of his exoskeleton armor.

The moment this soldier was struck down, the other three soldiers raised their rifles and madly fired toward the direction the stone had come from. But before they could unleash more than three breaths’ worth of fire, three more stones, each from a different direction, flew in and hit them squarely in the back, cleanly knocking them to the ground.

“What is that?” The sudden turn of events had stunned the group of students who had just run over from their ivory tower.

Then, they saw one native after another, shimmering with white God’s Pattern lights, walking out from all directions, looking at them expressionlessly.

“It’s the Baghda!” Dr. Allen’s face underwent a drastic change upon seeing these Yikong People. Having made her way here, she had naturally done her homework and knew that one Baghda was equivalent to a movable humanoid Mech.

“Respected Baghda warriors, we are merely a group of scholars. If our plant-collecting has angered you, I offer you our apologies and am willing to make it up to you!”

Feeling the situation was dire, Dr. Allen raised her hands and spoke through her translator to the Baghda, trying to extricate herself from this worst-case scenario.

“Exotic people, remove all devices on you that allow your fellow people to track your location! Keep only the life support systems that allow you to move around here, and follow us obediently—we can guarantee your lives will be safe!”

…Five days later, as a squad escorting twenty-seven prisoners was about to arrive at Yunjian Peak, a pleading voice mixed with sobs rose in the jungle. Dr. Allen held her student Yaji, her eyes brimming with tears, beseeching the surrounding Baghda:

“Please, can you send my student back? Without the life support system, she will die!”

“What should we do?” One of the Baghda looked somewhat helpless as he turned to his companion. The exotic person had just run away, and when he had captured her again, he had accidentally shattered her protective shield.

“Take her back; let King Uhl figure it out! He’ll know what to do!” Another Baghda looked at the female exotic person who had already turned a shade of blue and, after a brief moment of consideration, made a decision.

Cloud Peak, within a palace that seemed rough but whose scale was immense, a group of off-worlders sat on the ground, their expressions filled with despair and their eyes with uncertainty.

“Mentor, Yaji shows no signs of life anymore!” Mina, after examining the physiological features of Yaji lying in the palace, reported to her mentor with a voice filled with panic.

“I know,” Allen’s heart felt ice-cold, her future seeming bleak.

“What do these natives want by capturing us and bringing us here?” A student couldn’t help but express his indignation, angrily clenching his fist.

“Who knows? But it seems they are not intending to harm our lives.”

“What good does their intent do if our life support devices are damaged? We won’t have the chance to replace them, and we’re as good as dead here!”

A male student, his face pale, glanced at Yaji lying on the ground, her complexion now a ghastly purplish hue, fear apparent in his eyes—he had never felt death so close before.

While the group of off-worlders felt panic and insecurity, a mighty pressure enveloped their hearts, prompting their heartbeats to involuntarily accelerate.

Then, they saw golden light shining in from outside the hall, dispelling all the darkness, while the oppressive force weighing on them grew even heavier, causing everyone’s heartbeat to race and their cheeks to flush!

“Ugh, sorry!” A mellow voice sounded, and then the somewhat dazzling golden light began to recede, revealing the source of the golden light.

It was a giant with a tall, well-proportioned body, his dark hair falling loosely, his eyes emitting a faint golden glow, and his blue skin covered with slightly luminescent golden God’s Pattern. An awe-inspiring pressure emanated from him, compelling those around to bow and worship.

“What is this?” Dr. Allen uttered, her voice almost dreamlike.

“I am King Uhl, ruler over a hundred thousand Yikong People in the Ayalei Forest!” Muria introduced himself with a smile to the group of exotic people, then noticed the girl lying on the ground, her color ashen and her vitality nearly gone.

“I’m very sorry for the disturbance my knights have caused you! Fortunately, they haven’t harmed the life of any one of you.”

“Yaji’s already dead, and you still say your knights haven’t harmed any of our lives!” Hearing Muria’s words, a male student jumped out. Driven by the anger from losing the object of his secret admiration and fear for the future, he began to vent his emotions.

“Dead? That is to say, this girl is considered dead according to your civilization’s medical definition.” Muria walked over to the girl who had no sign of life and looked down at her, “But to my eyes, she’s still alive!”
