Chapter 864: Chapter 852 The Demon God from the Heart Chapter 864: Chapter 852 The Demon God from the Heart Boom———

The fierce explosion rang out as the fear demon hurled a fireball into the battlefield where the murder god Shirek and the Secret Shadow Demon Lord were locked in combat. The fireball exploded like a miniature supernova, the blazing flames of the sun sweeping through this corner of the star domain.

Then there were cries of pain, and an angry roar resounded simultaneously. Clearly, the fear demon’s strike had wounded the Secret Shadow Demon Lord, and it had also dealt a heavy blow to the murder god Shirek.

“Haha, look, this way we can also intervene in this war.” However, the fear demon did not care about having injured Shirek, for deities are not so easily killed. Even if he were to shatter this exposed corporeal form, with the accumulation of divine power in the Divine Kingdom, reincarnation would be swift and certain.

“Fear, you’re courting death.” Although the fear demon thought there was nothing serious, Shirek disagreed. Here he was, battling a foreign enemy, when suddenly, one of his own launched a massive attack that did not distinguish between friend and foe—who would tolerate that? Moreover, this fellow seemed like he was trying to steal the kill, which was even less acceptable.

“Why are you making such a fuss? I am merely striving to slay the Outer Realm Evil Gods and protect the world!” Upon hearing Shirek roar and threaten him, the fear demon was unconcerned. They were both mighty divine beings, who feared whom? As long as there were benefits to be had, what did it matter if there was complete enmity?

Meanwhile, during this exchange, another fireball identical to the first materialized in the palm of the fear demon. Even when unleashing attacks with huge lethality over a wide area, he did not need much time to gather strength. Any skills that took too long were waste; for beings of their caliber, battles were counted in seconds.

Skills that required long build-up times, apart from demonstrating power to mortal things in the Material World, had little use. In combat against an equal power, using such time-consuming abilities would have gotten them killed over and over by now.

“Fear, enough!” Seeing the fear demon preparing to throw another mini sun, the god of justice, Tyr, spoke out to stop him. In a war against outsiders, he just could not stand actions that killed both enemies and allies alike.

“Tyr, what right do you have to control me? What qualifications do you have to order me around?” Seeing the well-known crippled deity trying to stop him, the fear demon let out a sinister laugh. The god of justice, what a grand title, but he wasn’t afraid.

“What if I were to join?” The Dawn God Lorshanda spoke coldly as well. Not just him, but the Sun God Peiro, the chief deity of the Elves… many powerful chief deities looked coldly at the fear demon, and even some weaker deities glared at him alongside their chief deities.

This was the first Outer Realm Evil God that had infiltrated the Erathia World, but considering the current situation, it was very likely not the last. In other words, the war with the Outer Realm Evil Gods had merely just begun.

A deity who, in the pursuit of the enemy, does not hesitate to harm allies, cannot be tolerated by the gods. No one wishes to be blindsided in such a manner by their own side during the heat of battle.

Aside from the deities with Powerful Divine Force, those with lesser divine strength levels—Intermediate Divine Strength, Weak Divine Power, Inferior Divine Power—were even more angered and fearful of the fear demon’s behavior of striking at allies.

Such an attack, if directed at them, could cripple deities with Intermediate Divine Strength, and those with Inferior Divine Power would need to prepare their believers for resurrection.

Although the fear demon was aware that it was a time for external warfare and had made some changes, he had not fully reined in his habitual actions. Still acting according to his nature, he had now angered the gods.

The rules of war had completely changed. If evil deities still wished to join the conflict, they must abandon their habit of stabbing allies in the back.

Otherwise, they should be ready to be eliminated early by Powerful Divine Force. Nobody likes a comrade who stabs them in the back during battle.

“Alright, I was wrong this time. During the war, such actions will not happen again,” the fear demon conceded humbly, capitulating to the wrath of the numerous deities. Even someone as arrogant as the fear demon sensed clearly that if he had continued with his defiant attitude and thrown the fireball in his hand, a god-killing battle would have erupted right then and there. These deities might have banded together to kill him.

So, the normally overbearing and reckless fear demon completely restrained himself at this moment, reluctantly admitting his mistake. When compared to death, he chose his heart.

“I won’t strike, fine, but are we really going to let Shirek have this Evil God all to himself?” Though the fear demon had stopped attacking, he did not forget to incite the other deities, “Are we to let him reap all the benefits alone?”

As these words were spoken, the atmosphere suddenly grew silent. Not far away, Shirek was still fiercely battling the Secret Shadow Demon Lord, tearing shocking rifts in the Void.

“This war might have only allowed that one Evil God to break through here, and when the time comes, only Shirek will reap the benefits!”

For the world, it is best to sacrifice an Epic from the Outer Realm Evil Gods, who ascended by the source power. If a deity can hunt and sacrifice the Exotic Evil God to the world, then its divine power can be enhanced, and this portion of increased divine power does not require the support of faith.

If a deity can ascend to godhood by hunting an Evil God and offering it as a sacrifice to the world, then they can become a true god without faith, possessing the mighty power of the divine without requiring believers. As long as they don’t court death, they can essentially move with the world unchallenged.

Of course, there are basically no deities capable of this; only after ascending to a God Position does a deity possess the power to contend with the Epic, and those below cannot hunt those of the Epic Outer Realm.

That being said, the temptation of exchanging the hunt of an Outer Realm Evil God for unyielding divine power is immense for the Evil Gods of the Erathia World.

Following Muria’s declaration of war against the Senapus Subcontinent, the followers of the Evil Camp deities are dwindling by the moment. Many divine positions have begun to teeter, and signs of demotion have started to appear among some deities.

A pure faith-based god, should all their believers be slaughtered and they fail to garner enough followers before their accumulated Power of Faith is exhausted, will see their Divinity shattered completely and be demoted from deity to demigod.

Therefore, many Evil Gods are now desperate to maintain their divine positions. The weaker the deity, the more urgent their need to avoid being demoted to demigods, lest they become the targets of those legendary figures on the Continent seeking to ascend to godhood. After all, an entity demoted from deity to demigod still possesses traits that ordinary mortals cannot.

A sacrifice to sustain divine power has now appeared before them: an Epic from an Exotic Realm. If they can hunt it down and offer it to the world, they could maintain their divine power.

“There might be a second, a third, or even more Evil Gods breaking through here!” A deity whispered doubtfully, clinging to the hope of chance.

“Haha, as far as I know, in this war, most of the Epic Titans of the Titan Tribe have already been mobilized, and the Blazing Sky God Race has also deployed the majority of their battle forces. Having one Evil God infiltrate here is already a very good outcome!”

“That… Can we negotiate with the Titans? Ask them to let a few Evil Gods through so we can get some benefits too, they can’t take all the good for themselves!”

A deity with Inferior Divine Power timidly voiced, regarding the Exotic Epic as a benefit, yet unaware of the perils that come with it.

But, most deities shared such an attitude. They all turned to look at the Dawn God Lorshanda, the God of Justice Tyr, the Sun God Peiro, and many other benevolent and righteous divine beings. It was well known that they had a relatively harmonious relationship with the Titan Tribe.

“I’ll give it a try,” commenced the Dawn God Lorshanda slowly, under the watchful gaze of the Gods. It was not just those Evil Gods who wished to slay the Outer Realm Evil Gods; he, too, desired to slay them. He was but one step away from Great Divine Power, yet that step was not so easily taken. Now, however, there was a chance.

The current dilemma was that the Epic Titans and the Blazing Sky Gods seemed just too formidable. The Epics had prevented the flames of war from spreading to the Erathia World, leaving the deities with no opportunity to utilize their divine might. They could not demonstrate their divine prowess too far from the Erathia World.

Some had said that Epics were like the spears of the world, and deities like its shields. Spears are for offense, for plundering, while shields are purely defensive.

However, the vexing reality now was that in this war, the roles that these so-called shields of the world should have played were usurped by the world’s spears. The Epics had repelled all invading Evil Gods outside the World Community, preventing them from setting foot into the Erathia World Community.

“What if the Titans refuse?” scoffed the Fear Demon Lord. “What do you think — how likely is it that the Titans, with their disposition, would agree to such a matter?”

“…” The Gods fell silent.

“So, let’s secure the benefits at hand first!” chuckled the Fear Demon Lord, then turned his gaze to the battlefield where two beings fond of assassination roamed.

“Shirek, did you hear that? This Exotic Epic doesn’t belong to you alone. You better realize that on your own. Afterwards, you might still get a part of its body.”
