The Epics had prevented the flames of war from spreading to the Erathia World, leaving the deities with no opportunity to utilize their divine might. They could not demonstrate their divine prowess too far from the Erathia World.

Some had said that Epics were like the spears of the world, and deities like its shields. Spears are for offense, for plundering, while shields are purely defensive.

However, the vexing reality now was that in this war, the roles that these so-called shields of the world should have played were usurped by the world’s spears.
