King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 791 - 791 780 The Lofty Throne
Chapter 791: Chapter 780: The Lofty Throne Chapter 791: Chapter 780: The Lofty Throne “Great Titan! As a member of the Mang Gu of the Shadow Wasteland, I am willing to submit to you. I am ready to fight for you, becoming the sharpest spear in your hand, vowing to be so until death. However, please forgive me for I am unable to bow before you at this moment.”
Mang Gu, a colossal being from the Shadow Wasteland, lay in a deep pit and looked up at Muria with respect, admiration, and regret in his eyes. He had just engaged in a battle with Muria but regrettably, he hadn’t achieved any noteworthy results.
What truly saddened him was that this fight was perhaps his first and last opportunity to engage in an unreserved fight with a Titan. There would no longer be such battles in the future.
“I accept your pledge of allegiance, Mang Gu,” Muria stated, looking at the titan from the wasteland lying disfigured at the bottom of the pit with a hint of helplessness in his smile. He had broken every single bone in Mang Gu’s body – and not just once or twice.
Even the legendary healing power of Mang Gu had nearly lost its effectiveness due to the lengthy fight. This had been one of Muria’s most frustrating battles, as he had to be careful not to accidentally kill his brave and stubborn subordinate.
“Congratulations, Little Muria, you have finally tamed your first legendary power since arriving in this world.”
Hovering next to him with luminous fruits was the Golden Dragon Mother who had been eating for three days and nights. She landed next to Muria, beaming as she congratulated him. She had watched the entire battle from the sidelines as a true spectator.
“Mang Gu, what’s your status in this world? Are you a chieftain of a tribe or something else?” On hearing the Golden Dragon Mother’s words, Muria rolled his eyes and then looked towards his first legendary follower, who had managed to stagger to his feet.
“My Lord, I am the chief of the Mang Gu Tribe.” Mang Gu explained his identity to Muria, “I nominally accept the rule of the Nine Phoenix Dynasty, but actually, those guys can’t command me at all. I have the final say in everything about my tribe.”
“Oh!” Muria nodded, then asked him the question he was most concerned about at this time, “How many people are there in your tribe?”
“Ninety-three thousand, one hundred seventy-two people. Among them, those who have come of age and can participate in hunting or warfare are…” To Muria’s surprise, this seemingly crude chieftain of the Shadow Wasteland tribe quickly rattled off a series of precise numbers, which left Muria dumbfounded.
“Very good!” Muria seemed satisfied with the precise numbers, “Mang Gu, gather all the adult Shadow Wasteland folks in your tribe who can participate in warfare. I’m going to conquer this half of the world”.
“Oh, forgot to mention, Little Muria, don’t think that you can rest easy now that the Iron Wall is up. This wall has a limited lifespan. After it reaches a certain state, it will automatically collapse.”
Seeing the ambitious Muria, the Golden Dragon Mother also nodded in satisfaction, then began speaking again with a cheerful smile.
“When will this Iron Wall collapse?” Muria asked, with an unperturbed expression on hearing the Golden Dragon Mother’s words. As to what he was actually thinking inside, who knew?
“The power that spans the world creating this Iron Wall is from the Elemental Forces I invoked from various regions of the Shadow Wasteland. Its existence affects the elements of half the world, and if the extraction continues, it will result in an imbalance of elements, making the world gradually become a desert.
Therefore, I have set a limit. Before the concentration of elements drops to a level where irreversible damage is caused to the world, the wall will automatically crumble. I estimate the collapse of the Iron Wall to be somewhere between two hundred to three hundred years from now.”
“Two hundred years, huh?” Muria directly ignored the Golden Dragon Mother’s latter words. When dealing with uncertain timeframes, it was safest to consider the lowest value. Taking the highest value would be akin to holding onto a gambler’s luck, which was something he, as a Titan, would avoid.
“Two hundred years should be almost enough to use. Speaking of which, Mother, if, as you say, this formation relies on the extraction of the elemental forces from this part of the world, wouldn’t the concentration of elements in the world I have occupied gradually decrease over time?”
“Indeed, so you have to find a way to open up new resource areas and not let the Shadow Wasteland people in this area fall behind the other half of the world.”
“I understand, I will conquer this half of the world as soon as possible, then find new resource supply areas!”
…A war that could only be described as a crushing defeat occurred on the other side of the wall. With the Golden Dragon Mother’s deliberate calculations, most of the legends of the Shadow Wasteland were blocked on the side where the Nine Phoenix Dynasty Royal City was located. In the half side of the world where Muria was, there were only five legends of the Shadow Wasteland.
The process of conquering half of the Shadow Wasteland World was straightforward: Muria sought out the other four Shadow Wasteland Legends except for the submissive Mang Gu, revealed his Titan identity, and then forcefully subdued them with his martial prowess.
Having revealed his Titan identity and demonstrated his superior strength, these Shadow Wasteland Legends dutifully submitted.
Worth mentioning is, besides Mang Gu who stubbornly refused to submit even after his bones were all broken once, Muria encountered no others of such rigid resilience. This added to the regard Muria paid to Mang Gu.
When the pinnacle of power across half the world submitted to Muria, it was only a matter of time before this half of the Shadow Wasteland World fell under his rule.
Of course, Muria’s rule over this half of the world had a time limit. If he was unable to resist the Shadow Wasteland people possessing Legendary Peak strength by the time the wall collapsed, he would likely be evicted and return to Erathia World in disgrace.
Therefore, to avoid such an embarrassing situation, Muria began to train rigorously. Under the strong pressure and enough temptation, the tortuous training wasn’t particularly difficult.
As for the matter of conquering half the world, Muria assigned the task to the five Shadow Wasteland Legends and his four Legends who had submitted to him. They united together, leading their clans, giants and giant dragon, to clear away any obstructions left behind by the Nine Phoenix Dynasty.
Conquest inherently exudes a strong, bloody smell. Even though Muria held the moral high ground of governing the Shadow Wasteland World, some subjects of the Nine Phoenix Dynasty refused to acknowledge Muria’s Titan identity and resist subjugation. After all, Titans had left this world for far too long, becoming the stuff of myths and legends.
When legends became reality, some people refused to believe it, adamantly convinced that it was all an illusion meant to deceive them.
For these stubborn resisters, a giant dragon entwined in thunder had no hesitation directing the Five Colored Dragons under him to slaughter them without mercy. Many of the irritating Shadow Wasteland people then vanished, buried under the earth that nourished them.
The Ancient Blue Dragon undertook such deeds without a shred of hesitation, knowing why Muria brought him here and understanding his standing in the Xena Pus.
It was his job to do such dirty work, the kind that easily incurred resentment. It was only natural for a dragon with his malicious nature to bear this burden.
After all, every ruler of Xena Pus, even if their throne was built on a mound of endless corpses, must have not a drop of blood on their hands.
Two years after Muria entered the Shadow Wasteland World, he conquered half the world, drawing five million Shadow Wasteland giants into his following. These giants, upon sacrificing their offerings in their Coming of Age Ceremony and obtaining their first totems, all possessed at least the power of Silver Rank.
Muria was stunned at the sheer number and the frightening power they held. No wonder no Titan, like him, had bothered to cultivate a group of giants from their youth. It was a waste of time that would be better spent honing martial skills, participating in battles, and improving strength.
Muria calculated that from his early years up till now, he’d spent nearly one hundred and fifty years training. Excluding the Legends, the overall outcome of his tireless efforts over the years was not as impressive as his harvest in this world over two years. However, it couldn’t be said that Muria had wasted his years, as he had gained invaluable experience in managing his power.
Not every Titan was as fortunate as him, with a mother well-versed in formations to assist him. Typically, conquering a Medium-sized World solo took a Titan centuries, unlike Muria’s shortcut.
Normally, when a Titan was assigned a Medium-sized World, they may only have one ferocious beast with legendary bloodline that had made a pact with them. Once entering a completely unfamiliar world, everything has to start over again. Just the thought of it made Muria feel it would be incredibly tough.
And what about Muria now? He brought his power cultivated over a century to this world, directly subdued the strongest inhabitants, and the rest didn’t matter. He wasn’t worried about the native giants deceiving him.
Because he also had a force with a refined system, independent of the native inhabitants. Those guys would voluntarily monitor them for their own safety and benefits, creating a balance.
Of course, in order to further solidify his reign in the Shadow Wasteland World after initial conquest, Muria revealed his Titan True Form and took a tour around half the world, receiving the worship of millions of Shadow Wasteland Giants.
Because of this move, many Shadow Wasteland Giants who were initially uncertain about the Titan’s third coming became determined. Some Shadow Wasteland Giants even turned into Muria’s die-hard supporters, never doubting him again.
