Chapter 784 - 784 773 Treatment Like a Real Son
Chapter 784: Chapter 773: Treatment Like a Real Son Chapter 784: Chapter 773: Treatment Like a Real Son “This thing really is just a symbol of power.” Muria looked speechless at the Nine Phoenix Divine Axe in his hand. He had researched this axe for a while but couldn’t find a way to use it. All he could feel was the increasingly strong power contained within it, and that power was still growing.
Under the incessant urgency of the increasingly weak Ancient Golden Dragon whose power had been suppressed, Muria grew a bit impatient, swung the Divine Axe and hit it directly onto this Ancient Golden Dragon who had covertly ditched its duties without his approval.
Then a miracle happened. Muria’s strike didn’t cause any harm to this Ancient Dragon except for causing it to roll over on the ground. A blurred rune appeared in the area struck by the Divine Axe where nine phantoms coiled around. The Ancient Dragon’s momentum began to rise visibly once its shackles were lifted off.
“The world’s suppression of you was removed just like that. Much simpler than I imagined.” Muria, holding the jade-like battle axe in his hand, smacked his lips.
Then, Muria turned to look at Terence standing behind him and narrowed his eyes. He also glanced at the Ancient Golden Dragon that was roaring excitedly because it had regained its power.
After a slight hesitation, he raised the Nine Phoenix Divine Axe and struck it at the steel deck under his feet. This giant axe that could shield half of Muria’s body landed on the ground but surprisingly, it left no trace as if it had been chopped onto water.
Seeing such a peculiar scene, Muria hesitated no longer. He raised the Nine Phoenix Divine Axe and swung it at the Ancient Golden Dragon Giovanni, testing his own guess.
“Roar…Howl!” The Ancient Golden Dragon, who was releasing a satisfying roar, screamed sharply when he saw Muria swinging the Divine Axe at him.
Regardless of how the Ancient Golden Dragon wanted to dodge, the Battle Axe in Muria’s hand still glided over its wing. Bizarrely, the Battle Axe just swept past the Ancient Golden Dragon’s wings like a phantom, causing no damage at all.
“Hmm!” The Ancient Golden Dragon stopped screaming. It baffledly lifted its claw and touched the wing that had just been cut by the Nine Phoenix Divine Axe. There wasn’t a trace of injury, he hadn’t been hurt at all. Therefore, he looked at Muria in surprise.
“Just as I speculated, this thing has no destructive power.” Holding the Nine Phoenix Divine Axe in his hand, Muria expressed his speechlessness. Although this weapon looked ferocious like an axe, its material was similar to colored jade. Instead of appearing threatening, it seemed like a magnificent piece of art.
“Your majesty, perhaps your axe doesn’t lack destructive power. Its character is quite unique. I’ve seen similar divine artifacts before. The Divine Axe in your hands might have the same quality.”
“What quality? Don’t leave me in suspense.”
“This weapon can potentially attack according to the user’s intent. The reason why you couldn’t hurt me just now might be because you didn’t harbour any murderous intent towards me, so the axe didn’t wield any lethality. If you face an enemy that you wish to kill, then the Divine Axe would possess power that matches the strength it contains.”
“It’s so sentient.” Muria raised his eyebrows. According to the Ancient Golden Dragon’s explanation, this Divine Axe might decide its attack power based on his thoughts. If it’s his friends, then the axe is merely a piece of decoration; but when he faces his enemies, it becomes a lethal weapon of terrifying power.
Of course, this was just a guess. According to Muria’s understanding, this Nine Phoenix Divine Axe was just a symbolic device that represented the legitimate authority of this world. It was similar to the imperial jade seal and carried a certain sense of righteousness. But in terms of practical use… it was still pretty handy.
“If it can only lift the world’s suppression of my forces, it’s enough.” Muria played with the Nine Phoenix Divine Axe in his hand, contemplating. He didn’t lack weapons. Even though the axe could distinguish between friends and enemies according to his mindset, it was merely the cherry on top and didn’t serve much practical purpose.
“It’s your turn, Terence.” Muria held the Nine Phoenix Divine Axe, turned around and smiled at the Storm Giant Leader Terence, whose face was full of anticipation. The blood suppression on Terence was less severe than that on the Ancient Golden Dragon, but it was nonetheless quite miserable.
… After that, Muria was pretty busy for a while. Holding the Nine Phoenix Divine Axe, he lifted the shackles off of all the dragons, giants, and dragonkin who had come together with the Void Fleet, freeing them from suppression by this world.
“Your Majesty!” The hundred thousand underage giants, thirty thousand fully-grown giants, eight thousand dragonkin with different dragon blood, and the six Legends who were transported by the Void Fleet stood in front of Muria, and bowed to him in salute.
“Start building the camp here!” Muria saw these followers and minions who arrived as reinforcements and issued an order for them to start building. Even though he didn’t know how many Legend-level existences there were in the Shadow Wasteland World, getting a head start was always necessary, and it was certain there would be no loss.
Muria didn’t plan to let those from the Void Fleet live together with the natives of the Flame Wheel Tribe in the Shadow Wasteland. There were too many differences between them, in race, culture, and customs… After all, they weren’t even from the same world and had almost nothing in common.
Given the situation, there’s no need to force them to be together, especially considering that the creatures from the world of Elasia tend to carry a natural sense of superiority over the native inhabitants of their current world. This condescension manifests in their behavior, their gaze, and their every movement. Forcing them together would likely yield poor results. It might be best to let them live separately.
“Survey the area. Are there any resources available to build a city with? If there are, let’s start extracting them. If not, we’ll have to create our own,” Muria ordered, her gaze falling on a group of around three thousand Mountain Giants.
In her plan, the Mountain Giants, whose immense endurance enables them to create earth and stone attacks, were designated for logistical roles. Muria prized their construction capabilities over their strength in battle.
If a Mountain Giant were properly educated in civil engineering, it wouldn’t be a problem for him to independently construct a fully equipped city. It would merely be a matter of time.
No sooner had Muria given her command than those listening to her moved quickly to execute it. The Ancient Golden Dragon, who had snuck in, and an Ancient Blue Dragon, who had acquiesced to follow Muria’s orders, were the first to start scouting.
The Dragon Race had an unmatched advantage over other races in terms of sensing resources; they possessed a keen sensitivity towards precious resources.
“There is an Elemental Crystal Mine deep underground,” reported the Ancient Golden Dragon after a casual sweep of the area. His face could barely conceal the joy of his discovery. He said to Muria, “I can’t tell exactly how much it holds yet, but my initial estimate is that it could contain over twenty million cubic meters.”
“I request permission to go underground and inspect it,” piped up the Ancient Blue Dragon, who had been thrashed by Michaela and wisely decided to be Muria’s puppet. His eyes shimmered with irresistible greed.
“I request to accompany him, Your Majesty. I want to supervise him to prevent him from stashing away anything,” the Ancient Golden Dragon hastily interjected.
“No need for that,” Muria shook her head dismissively. Sending two dragons to investigate an Elemental Crystal vein of unknown quantity was akin to letting two rats guard a granary. Who knew how much they’d embezzle?
“You lot, go underground and estimate how much Elemental Crystal this vein holds,” Muria hastily directed a team of Mountain Giants, pointing for them to begin their investigation.
The Ancient Golden Dragon sighed regretfully at Muria’s lack of trust but quickly became intrigued by something else. “Your Majesty, I smell the scent of Extraordinary Metal Ore,” he noted before the Mountain Giants had even finished their report.
Reports started pouring in from the Mountain Giants before the Ancient Golden Dragon had even finished speaking.
“Your Majesty, I found a medium-sized Elemental Crystal vein thirty miles to the southwest.”
“Your Majesty, I found a vein of Yellow Jade Steel forty-five miles to the northeast.”
…
Listening to the steady stream of resource reports from the Mountain Giants, Muria fell silent for a moment. Something didn’t add up.
According to her earlier survey, the area was desolate and should be severely lacking in resources. However, the resources discovered by the Mountain Giants shattered Muria’s previous assumptions.
As the Mountain Giants dug deeper, more and more resources were discovered. Muria ended up constructing a map based on the reports.
The map clearly highlighted the vast array of elemental and metallic veins found beneath the wasteland – a veritable treasure trove. It was as if all the prime materials of the world were concentrated here.
“Simply incredible,” breathed the Ancient Golden Dragon, staring fixedly at the three-dimensional map overflowing with resource markers, his eyes full of awe. “I’ve never seen such a densely distributed assortment of resources in all my life. It’s truly a miracle.”
“Your Majesty, are the resources in other worlds always this abundant?” The Ancient Golden Dragon couldn’t resist asking Muria.
