Chapter 568 - 568 564 Resource Allocation and the Duke
Chapter 568: Chapter 564: Resource Allocation and the Duke Chapter 568: Chapter 564: Resource Allocation and the Duke “What a thoughtless spendthrift!” Muria grumbled to himself quietly, “What’s the most awkward thing in the world? When people think you’re a worldly and wealthy gentleman, but in reality, you’re just an ignorant hillbilly.”
Of course, given Muria’s insight, he wouldn’t consider himself a hillbilly, but he had never heard of a semi-plane being used for hunting and entertainment. He never imagined a semi-plane could be squandered in such a fashion.
To a country, a semi-plane is a treasure of national importance. It is a strategic resource that can be used to breed mounts from ferocious beasts, cultivate rare magical herbs, train clandestine legions secretly, leave an inheritance for when the tower might fall… the uses are diverse.
But here, Muria saw something else. A royal blood having the right of succession could treat a semi-plane as a recreational venue. And it seemed that she was not the only one in the empire who did this. To Muria, it was inconceivable.
While Muria may hold a higher position than Princess Gladys, in terms of resources controlled, he was outclassed by her in every way. She, the seventh princess, had more semi-planes at her disposal than he could fathom.
That made Muria rather gloomy. The semi-plane he had under his control was his only one, acquired through his own strong abilities and good fortune. He would probably be even more miserable without it.
But if you consider it seriously, would the resources controlled by the Titan Tribe be less than those of an empire that only had one Epic being? The answer was obviously no, without even thinking about it.
The resources of the Titan Tribe were controlled by Epic tycoons. The resources allocated to their fledgling members seem less than those of the royal family of the empire.
The Titan Tribe was not stingy. In fact, the resources required for each Titan to grow were allocated by their spirits. There wouldn’t be excess, but there wouldn’t be shortage either. It was just right.
Every Titan has an arena for exchanging ideas with fellow tribesmen and strong beings. It was a semi-plane specifically for combat and exchange. There was also the public semi-plane, the Abyss Training Field.
Furthermore, every Titan, upon reaching Soul Intent, gets a piece of Legendary Metal, enough to forge their exclusive weapon. This alone made them better than the royals of the empire. Muria really didn’t believe the royals receive this kind of treatment.
How many people would be shocked if it got out that the Titans had enough Legendary Metal to forge weapons for an adult Titan of hundred meters?
The Titan Tribe only had resources to nurture the young tribesmen in battle and growth, not a single bit was used for pleasure. If you wanted more, you had to rely on your own fists and weapons, obtained through battle.
…
“Muria, if there’s no need, try to hide your eyes,” Gladys, who had recently formed a preliminary alliance with Muria, advised. She had decided to give up the formal address as it made things overly distant.
“Sure, easy,” Muria blinked, and his Dazzling Golden Eye became a deep black, identical to his disguise in the Evil God’s Paradise.
“There’s another point,” Gladys’s eyebrow slightly knitted after Muria had hidden his Golden Pupil, “I have the same bloodline as you, so I have a unique sense toward you.”
As she spoke, a hint of pink appeared on the face of the young-looking princess. She naturally had a feeling of intimacy towards Muria, an effect of the incomplete bloodline. However, she didn’t dislike this feeling.
“I feel nothing for you,” Muria said frankly. He had no reaction from his bloodline towards Gladys. No, if he paid close attention, there was a tiny response, but it was so faint it could virtually be ignored, probably because her bloodline was too weak.
Hearing Muria’s words that seemed to imply something else, the color of Gladys’s face suddenly disappeared, and it became stiff and slightly black. But she soon concealed all abnormal colors—this was her basic training.
“It’s enough for me to feel you. Whether you feel me is not important,” Gladys said with a hint of deeper meaning, “Muria, you need to find a way to conceal your bloodline. Besides me, other royal family members can also sense it. You are participating in the hunt I’m hosting, and some of my siblings might show up uninvited. If they sense you, there could be some trouble.”
“Show up uninvited?” Muria rubbed his chin, “Are they really that shameless? Doesn’t it embarrass them at all?”
“What’s there to be embarrassed about? We are loving siblings after all,” Gladys said with a smile on her face, speaking words she didn’t even believe herself.
“Buzz!” While speaking, the Nine Kings within Muria vibrated slightly, emitting gentle ripples which sealed off his bloodline. His originally weak aura faded into nothing, making him seem like an ordinary human teen.
“Can you still sense me?” Muria asked.
“There seems to be a very faint sense left,” Gladys frowned slightly, “But this should be enough, no one will associate this with your identity. I’ll just say you’re a royal with a degenerated bloodline. This kind of existence is quite common in the Imperial Capital. No one pays much attention to it, so it won’t arouse suspicions.”
“A royal with a degenerated bloodline? I can live with that identity,” Muria nodded in satisfaction.
“Actually, if you openly enter the Imperial Capital as a Titan, you will automatically get a status equivalent to a duke. Besides without a territory, you have all the same rights as a duke,” Gladys said softly. There was no need to hide this. Muria would find out sooner or later.
“Duke!” Muria’s expression was interesting at hearing that. At this moment, he didn’t know his parents had completely given up on him, “What a pity. If it weren’t for that messy situation, I’d really like to experience what it’s like to be a duke in the empire.”
“There will be opportunities in the future,” Gladys’s eyes flickered. She knew there were issues with Muria. A normal Titan would never sneak into the Imperial Capital. Besides looking for his Giant Dragon, he must have other things on his agenda.
Although she was curious, she wouldn’t actively ask. It would be too reckless and could provoke Muria’s annoyance for no reason.
“Gladys, during the hunt, try to arrange an opportunity for me to converse privately with the Dragon Princess. I will try negotiating with her first. However, I reckon it might not work out, and I might make a move on her, which won’t go unnoticed.”
“I’ll try my best, but if you are going to make a move, you better not do it in the semi-plane. It might cause a big commotion,” Gladys replied.
