Chapter 569: Chapter 565: Blue Diamond Dragon Chapter 569: Chapter 565: Blue Diamond Dragon “This must be the guy. Quite good looking. I heard he’s of declining royal blood.”
“His golden pupils have degraded to the point of oblivion. What kind of royalty is that? He’s nothing more than a commoner.”
“I heard that a month ago, this guy was riding in the princess’ carriage into her mansion.”
“He looks like an ordinary mortal. What’s so special about him? How did he win the princess’ favor?”
“Just the fact that he seems like an ordinary person makes him special. Anyone favored by Her Royal Highness Gladys can’t possibly be an ordinary person.”
“Perhaps he’s just good at concealing his true nature.”
…Various voices of discussions reached Muria’s ears from all directions, mostly filled with envy and jealousy. Yet facing the malice coming from everywhere, Muria remained unfazed. He could flatten a crowd of these guys with a slap. Why would he be moved by them?
Muria walked leisurely around the open-air banquet, wine glass in hand and occasionally sampling beautifully arranged pastries. His manner was relaxed and natural, oblivious to the nobles around him in their armor and wielding swords.
“Brother, what’s your name? I am Klein.” A noble wearing light armor approached Muria who was enjoying his food. His tone was warm and slightly curious, causing no discomfort.
“Muria.” Muria glanced at the man decked out in flamboyant purple armor. His armor, aside from practicality, was impressively decadent, like a display of a peacock in full spread.
Of course, even this flamboyantly purple noble didn’t stand out in the banquet, as virtually all the nobles were similarly dressed and each one’s armor was more spectacular than the next beneath their attention-seeking armors.
While Muria’s Saintly Imperial Abyss was also very majestic and dazzling, its enhancements were focused on the basis of defense. On the other hand, some of these nobles’ armors absurdly chose to sacrifice their defensive capabilities for a better visual appeal.
“Muria, you’re not from the Imperial Capital, right? Where did you live before?”
“Overseas!”
“Overseas?” The young noble in the flamboyant purple armor, Klein, was slightly taken aback. The expanse of the Imperial territory was vast and even he, of high-birth, had never set foot outside of the Uranos Empire. Due to restrictions, they were not allowed to leave until they reached a certain level of power. “That’s rather uncommon, brother Muria! Were you raised at sea?”
“I’m not a marine creature. I grew up on an archipelago.” Muria continued sampling the culinary delights as he responded. He didn’t sense any malice from Klein, so he didn’t mind making conversation.
“I’ve heard that there are sea monsters of enormous size in the deep sea. When they surface, they’re as big as small hills. Brother, have you ever seen such sea monsters?”
“Ate one, the meat was very chewy.” Muria put down his wine glass and was holding a dessert similar to ice cream to taste. “But it’s not as good as this pastry.”
Muria’s response startled Klein and some other young nobles who were eavesdropping on their conversation. After a moment of silence, they exchanged bemused looks.
Klein chuckled awkwardly. He could not tell if Muria was telling the truth or not. If he was, that was simply amazing. “Hehe, if it’s delicious, brother Muria, eat as much as you want.”
Muria’s gluttonous manner caused some of the surrounding nobles to look down on him a bit, labeling him as a country bumpkin, even though his manners were nothing short of perfect etiquette.
This was just a preparatory banquet before the start of the hunting event. The main purpose was to wait for the arrival of the Dragon Princess from the Orlando Empire. It was not really a banquet meant for indulging in food and drink.
However, regardless of what they thought, none of these nobles would show their emotions on their faces before they figured out who Muria was. When Muria looked at them, they all greeted him with beaming smiles, appearing extremely friendly.
If it weren’t for the fact that Muria’s spiritual sense had detected malice from these guys, he might have actually believed them. But Muria didn’t say anything. When Klein and Muria were chatting, these guys also joined in and Muria responded from time to time. Who can’t play the game of keeping up appearances?
“Roar!” While Muria was casually chatting with a group of nobles, each with their own hidden agendas, a magic array nearly a hundred meters in diameter in the center of the banquet venue began to shine, from which incessant dragon roars could be heard.
“Strange, why didn’t the Princess of the Orlando Empire fly over our Uranos Empire with great fanfare instead of arriving via the teleportation array?”
“Muria, here’s what you don’t know. The Ryantic trevents of the Ten Great Empires have been around for a long time, and because of their long history, they have evolved into tedious rituals. If the Dragon Princess was to arrive in the usual diplomatic manner for the Hunt hosted by the Crown Prince, I’m afraid the welcoming ceremony would take three days to complete.
Therefore, for private invitations like this between royals, they usually travel through teleportation arrays, avoiding formal diplomatic ceremonies, which are tiring and time-consuming, purely a hassle.”
“I see.” Muria nodded, watching as one dragon after another emerged from the teleportation array in the center of the courtyard, his eyes growing dark and profound, “The Dragon Princess. Aptly named indeed.”
Bronze Dragon, Copper Dragon…Amethyst Dragon, Yellow Jade Dragon, Jade Dragon…Blue Dragon, Green dragon…all three major dragon races were well represented. There were even Golden Dragons and Red Dragons present. Hundreds of dragons soared and circled over the banquet, to the awe of countless nobles.
“Golden Dragons!” Muria looked somewhat unpleasantly at the two radiant giants amidst this enormous lot of dragons, “Seems like they’re male dragons. Humph. The Dragon Princess has truly accomplished something. She has tamed two Golden Dragons.”
Already not fond of the Dragon Princess, Muria’s distaste for her deepened. As the black-haired youth looked at the translucent blue-scaled dragon that emerged from the teleportation array, its scales sparkled with a dazzling blue light in the sunlight. It was a Sapphire Dragon, a Legendary Ancient Dragon.
“What a powerful Dragon Vein!” Muria looked at the blue-haired girl standing on top of the Sapphire Dragon’s head, his eyes half-squinted, “An ancient Dragon Vein from the Ancient Times that is still preserved, the Blue Diamond Dragon!”
“Hm?” Princess Filisia of the Dragons also sensed something as Muria did. Her eyes scanned around somewhat suspiciously, “I feel it. The unique dragon my mother mentioned, it’s hidden below.”
