King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 560 - 560 556
Chapter 560: 556 Chapter 560: 556 “My unmet brothers or sisters, it’s your existence that allows a mere merchant to ignore me.” Gladys looked into Muria’s eyes. She didn’t remember any of her siblings having such striking golden pupils.
“Won’t you take off your mask and introduce yourself?” A warm smile appeared on Gladys’ face. It was impeccable, but to Muria, it felt insincere. A smile that nobles drill to perfection. God knows how many times this princess has practiced it in front of a mirror.
“There’s no need.” Muria touched the faceguard on his face. It was part of the Saintly Imperial Abyss. He put it on when he saw that legendary high-level old mage and never took it off since then.
“You are mistaken, I’m not a royal.” Muria shook his head in outright denial. He had no interest in staying here to play some kind of role-playing game, nor did he wish to impersonate any royal.
“Tut! You skulking one!” Upon hearing Muria’s denial and seeing his golden pupils, Catherine, who suddenly realized the situation, hastily stepped forward, reached out and grabbed at Muria’s face. “Let me take off your mask, let me see what you look like!”
“Catherine, stop.” The sight of her own follower and best friend suddenly taking action prompted Gladys to hurriedly intervene. Although Muria was concealing his presence, she could vaguely perceive Muria’s strength due to a part of their bloodlines being the same. This was a strength her best friend could not match.
“Young lady, even if I deny that I’m of royal blood, you should still maintain a basic level of respect for the stronger ones, rather than be so rude.” Seeing the outstretched hand approaching his face, Muria didn’t flinch, but extended a finger and, moving ahead of her, lightly flicked the forehead of Catherine, the tall and slender young woman.
“Spare her!”
“Clang!”
In the anxious outcry of the princess, the resolute young female general looked on in disbelief as she was sent flying without resistance, crashing into two Black Armored Guards at the entrance. The powerful impact immediately deformed the part of the guards’ armor that came into contact with Catherine.
The two Black Armored Guards struggled to get up and then remained motionless in their previous stance, showing an unusually disciplined behavior. On the other hand, the culprit, the Purple-haired General Catherine, who seemed to have only her forehead reddened but no other visible injuries.
She was sitting on the ground with her legs spread out, her hands covering her forehead. The seemingly bone-deep, burning pain made the young woman involuntarily cover her forehead. It made her look adorably confused, creating a somewhat cute and comical contrast.
“Thank you.” After seeing her best friend safe, Gladys breathed a sigh of relief. She knew that Catherine had risked a great deal to go after Muria for her sake alone.
Just from looking at Muria’s eyes, she could tell how pure his bloodline was. In Catherine’s eyes, this was a significant threat to Princess Gladys.
And judging by the performance just now, Andrew, the president of the Deep Blue Commerce Association, was clearly siding with this unheard-of royal. The princess’ humbling visit to curry favor was a waste of time and effort.
“Remember, towards beings stronger than you, you should maintain a basic level of respect, rather than commit reckless, rude acts.” said Muria in an instructive tone, looking at Catherine, who, holding her forehead, was slowly getting up.
“A legend!” Catherine looked at Muria, her face filled with shock. She was worried for the Seventh Princess she served. This unexpected royal was seemingly a greater potential heir to the throne than Gladys.
In the younger generation of the current royal family, there were no more dazzling golden pupils than Muria’s. As for strength, Catherine hadn’t heard of any young royals who had achieved the status of a legend. Muria had left them far behind. Lastly, in terms of influence, the Deep Blue Commerce Association had sided with Muria. With wealth and status, there was no fear of not being able to build up influence.
“Do you need anything else?” Muria looked at the princess before him. “If not, please leave. If you feel Andrew has offended you by being negligent, I apologize on his behalf.”
“You still haven’t answered my question, who are you exactly?” Gladys’ beautiful golden brows furrowed, evoking a sense of sympathy. “Why do you deny that you’re of royal blood? You can’t fake the aura you radiate.”
In Gladys’ mind, Muria was one of her kindred. While guessing about Muria’s history, she thought of the Uranos Empire’s lost bloodline. Perhaps one of her elders, or even her father, had an illegitimate child and she didn’t know about it.
But this wouldn’t affect the succession to the throne. It was merely a matter of title. As long as one had the royal bloodline, this was not a big deal. In the history of the empire, there had been emperors who ascended the throne as illegitimate children, without any recognition from their fathers. The situation seemed similar for this fellow in front of her.
The heir to the next emperor of the Uranos Empire was not limited to the current emperor’s children but extended to the entire royal family. Anyone who had the royal bloodline had the right to inherit the throne. The struggle for the throne in each generation was intense and brutal.
“In this world, the Uranos Empire’s royal family aren’t the only ones who possess golden pupils.” Muria said, implying something. No one could understand the annoyance Muria was feeling, he originally wanted to keep a low profile.
Given the situation, keeping a low profile was out of the question. After encountering a High-level Legend mage, he now met a royal with a seemingly high position. His identity would be exposed sooner or later.
Upon hearing Muria’s words, Gladys’ eyes widened. As the seventh princess of the empire, she wasn’t the emperor’s seventh daughter but the seventh in line to the throne. Actually, she had an older brother and sister. She reached her current position not just due to her status as the emperor’s daughter, which didn’t give her much of an advantage.
So from the few words exchanged, she quickly guessed Muria’s possible identity. Not a royal, but capable of making her own bloodline tingle. The answer was already clear.
“Andrew, introduce me to His Majesty’s identity.” Gladys looked at the chubby merchant, she wanted to confirm her guess.
“Your Majesty!” Seeing Gladys’ authoritative golden eyes, Andrew looked helplessly to Muria for guidance. He remembered how Muria had instructed him to conceal his identity.
