King of Titans and Dragons
Chapter 1361 - 1361 1345 Death Relic

Chapter 1361: Chapter 1345: Death Relic Chapter 1361: Chapter 1345: Death Relic “My mistake!”

After confirming that he had lost contact with three god dragons, Muria sighed lightly.

The god dragons responsible for conquering domains on his behalf had perished, and Muria felt an inescapable responsibility.

Muria’s conquest plans derived from the information obtained via the Luo Tian Mirror’s investigation of domains. He was aware that the intelligence was imperfect; such a lack of information sometimes could be fatal for the conqueror.

Thus, Muria personally set out to conquer the domains that suffered the most severe lack of information and managed to do so, startlingly but without mishap. Muria even felt some pride because of this achievement.

However, the demise of the god dragons made Muria realize that his initial plans were unfulfilled, and the consequences of the imperfect information had already occurred.

“Divine Majesty, what has happened?” As Muria sighed, two divine beings serving in the grand hall, whom Muria considered to be merely decorative, inquired. They performed their duties well, adding luster to the temple.

“My god dragons have fallen, and they were responsible for exploring the Domain of Relics…”

“Your Majesty, I wish to go and investigate the reason behind the god dragons’ demise, find the culprit, and appease your anger.” The goddess, not satisfied with being just a decorative figure, volunteered proactively.

“Never mind, I’ll go there myself.” Muria, rising from the Divine Throne radiating myriads of light, directly refused the goddess’s request.

The god dragons, having undergone divine power refinement, could, in burst mode, match those deities not skilled in battle, and the simultaneous demise of three god dragons could easily have eliminated Muria’s two decorative goddesses.

Sending these two goddesses to investigate would likely be akin to throwing them into the lion’s den—an opportunity for some destined hero to gain experience or, even more bizarrely, delivering something akin to ‘sending coals to Newcastle’. Although not highly likely, sometimes things defy logic.

Thus, to be prudent, Muria decided to go personally, especially since the Divine Court currently had no spare combat forces available, including his wife and daughter who were already in battle.

“Let’s see what it is that could kill my subordinates, depriving them even of a chance to escape.”

Muria clearly remembered; when he trained his giant dragons, he explicitly told them that preserving their own lives should be their primary concern in battle, leaving attacking the enemy as the last priority.

In situations where victory was hopeless and there was no need to hold their ground, retreat was prioritized above all else, especially in domains like these where they encountered formidable enemies they could not overcome.

Any dragon that reached the ancient dragon stage was not easy, and even less so for an Ancient Dragon. And an ancient dragon who could receive and withstand divine power refinement was one in a thousand—Muria never intended to treat such giant dragons as expendables.

“It seems quite normal!”

Amidst roaring winds at an altitude of ten thousand meters, Muria, who had reached the domain where his god dragons had fallen, scanned the entire domain through the Luo Tian Mirror and didn’t notice any obvious anomalies, just like his initial investigation.

However, under the circumstances of the god dragons’ demise, a seemingly normal domain became the most abnormal aspect.

Thus, the soon-to-be-promoted Divine Lord descended to the earth and began to systematically search the land, inch by inch.

It wasn’t an overly difficult task because the three dragons leading the legions had left many traces in their quest to conquer this domain.

Following these tracks was the key, and in this process, Muria saw the results of the conquest by the three dragons in command; relatively speaking, it was not bad.

This domain, with its city-state system where various powers were fragmented and either cooperated or opposed each other, was largely unified now. The remaining giant legions and dragons were suppressing everything and were somewhat overwhelmed.

The news of the god dragons’ demise seemed to have spread, affecting the conquering legions and stirring up the indigenous people of the conquered domain, who were eager to reclaim their lost status.

However, Muria’s arrival quelled the undercurrents beneath the apparent peace, substantially nailing the coffin shut on any possible restoration of the era of city-states concluded by the arrival of outer realms’ conquerors.

“Director, your arrival is most timely. Had it been later, I suspect those natives would have rebelled.”

The conquering legion naturally received Muria with open arms, jubilant yet precarious without their three commanders—like a snake without a head.

“Tell me, what happened?” Muria addressed the more than ten legends standing before him, “How did your commanders suddenly disappear?”

“Sir, Leandro Sosa and a few other dignitaries found information about some ancient indigenous relics in this domain.”

“And then they banded together to explore the relics?” Muria asked, sitting in the chief seat, turning to the Frost Giant who had responded.

“Yes, the three commanders and some generals all went there.”

“Hmm,” Muria nodded, acknowledging that the legends now standing before him all originated from the Giant Clan and the Metallic Dragon Clan, whereas the missing three God Dragons and the general predominantly belonged to the Five Colored Dragons.

If nothing had gone wrong, the legends left behind were most likely ostracized. Muria had always known his minions were divided into several factions, competing and suppressing each other.

However, he was hands-off about these matters, allowing them to quarrel as long as no vicious, bottom-line-busting competition occurred. Competition was necessary for progress, a survival of the fittest.

The expedition Legion having found ancient relics meant one side was forced to stay behind while the other explored the relics to reap benefits, a fairly normal outcome of inter-faction suppression and competition.

But with one side’s leaders completely wiped out, whether those legendary giants standing before him felt any schadenfreude, Muria wasn’t sure, nor did he want to know.

He judged only by actions and behavior, not by inner thoughts and feelings. No matter how bad their relationships were among themselves, as long as they maintained peace and amiability in his presence, that was sufficient.

“Where is the relic? I’ll go take a look.” With clear information now at hand, Muria wasn’t keen on wasting more time, especially curious about what could potentially be blocking the Luo Tian Mirror.

“Your Majesty,” a few legendary giants began to say something after hearing Muria’s words, but Muria raised his hand to stop them,

“No need to follow; I will explore alone. You all go and handle another matter — trace the source of this relic information. If some powers have willingly offered this information, do not report back; directly annihilate them!”

Would the place that induced the demise of God Dragons not be a forbidden zone for the creatures in this region? Wouldn’t the locals know what areas are dangerous and what areas are safe?

Of course, this was just a speculation, but the likelihood was high. Muria had no interest in investigating personally, but the expedition Legion could do that on their behalf.

“Underground City?”

Looking at the seemingly naturally formed underground cavity entrance beneath his feet, Muria arched an eyebrow, yet he wasn’t surprised.

It was rational for anomalies that avoided detection by the Luo Tian Mirror to be located underground; moreover, if it involved a Semi Plane or a different space, that would illustrate it even more logically. An even crazier scenario would be if there were Space-Time Cracks here connecting to other worlds.

“Somewhat nostalgic!”

Following the naturally formed underground fissure deeper into the earth, Muria, observing the entirely different underground ecosystem from the surface, couldn’t help but feel nostalgic.

He was a professional at constructing underground city mazes; he had once turned an entire Subcontinent into an adventurous paradise filled with mazes.

Although the initial purpose was to train his eldest son Aeolus, during the construction process, he envisioned new significance for the mazes—beyond training the empire’s second generation of rulers and attracting foreigners. Nowadays, the mazes also played roles in sharpening the younger generation of the empire and breaking class monopolies.

Moreover, the latter role was particularly significant—regardless of how lowly a being was, entering the maze presented a chance to change their Destiny. Of course, they might also end up with nothing, but this undoubtedly offered an opportunity for every challenger discontented with their fate.

“Not deliberately constructed.”

Deep in the underground space, Muria had already spotted the ruins of shattered buildings. From his vast experience, Muria deduced that some disaster had once struck this site.

“Too greedy!”

From this, it could be confirmed that the downfall of his God Dragons under his command was essentially self-inflicted; although such was the case, Muria still needed to find the culprits and obtain a reasonable explanation and accountability.

“This is the place!”

In the dimly lit ruins of a shattered city, unique underground plants and spirit minerals emitted faint glows, ensuring that the relic where Muria stood did not plunge into utter darkness.

Muria also spotted traces of his incompetent subordinates who had come treasure hunting, but he saw no remains from their deaths, only the marks left by their dying struggles.

However, with his true self standing here, nothing illusory could hide from his sight. He had already discerned hints of what might have brought down his subordinates.

“Come out!”

Muria extended his hand, lightly pressed, and space collapsed under his palm, spreading and shattering according to his will, with incredible destructive power in the space cracks.

As the cracks touched a rust-streaked, partially buried bronze statue amidst the ruins, a dark light burst forth, corroding everything nearby, and an ancient will resurfaced with immense oppressive power.

“Who dares seek death? Who dares to invade my territory, to violate my majesty?”
