Chapter 1345 - 1345 1330 The Choice Given by the Sun God
Chapter 1345: Chapter 1330: The Choice Given by the Sun God Chapter 1345: Chapter 1330: The Choice Given by the Sun God In the sky, a radiant sun hung high, its intense sunlight illuminating the desolate land devoid of any life. Upon this lifeless earth, great beings either moved mountains to sit upon or stood silently in the sky, their gazes falling upon a deity shrouded in golden divine power.
It was as if this existence was an avatar of the sun itself. No, there was no ‘as if,’ for this entity was the avatar of the sun. In the Temporary Semi-Plane where the gods resided, and which sustained its existence by mighty force, part of it originated from Him—one of three initiators of the Pantheon Meeting, possessing a powerful divine force, Sun God Sergei Gladyer.
The reason why His Divine Name was known was that after the number of deities present on the battlefield reached twenty-eight, He sealed off the passage into the Semi-Plane. After declaring the start of the meeting before the many gods who maintained their composure, He introduced Himself.
And the gods could remain composed after the entryway to the Semi-Plane was sealed because those who came to the meeting had sent avatars, none so foolish as to come in their true forms.
“Esteemed gods, the Lord of the Azure and the King of the Mountains and I have invited you to this meeting to put an end to the current chaos,” He said.
As the Sun God looked around at the more than twenty deities present, narrating the purpose of this meeting, His gaze always paused, albeit imperceptibly, when passing over Muria and the Feathered Fire God. Muria keenly noticed the subtle difference.
“The current situation, you are now aware…”
The Sun God, who drew the eyes of all the gods, continued to speak, while Muria devoted half of his attention to deep thought, the fact that this Powerful Divine Force had noticed him was within Muria’s expectations.
After all, given the Sun God’s Divine Name, it was clear what this Powerful Divine Force’s patron deity was—Sun, without a doubt. Muria had an unavoidable contest of divine authority with this deity, and it would not surprise him in the least if this deity harbored thoughts of doing away with him.
This was quite normal, for Muria himself harbored such thoughts. In fact, his aspirations were even bolder—he wished to remove all deities that stood in his way to become the sovereign of the world.
“Most of you are newly-born deities, still unaware of the world’s true essence. Do you still believe that the worlds you once ruled were independent? Do you think they are now merely connected to other worlds due to some special reasons?”
In the midst of a long, tedious explanation, this powerful deity finally spoke of something that piqued Muria’s interest.
“Some of you should have attempted to explore the regions beyond the world. To us, the boundless Void is an unexplored forbidden zone. The deeper we probe into that darkness, the weaker our divine powers become.
In fact, this is the limitation of us deities; we can only exert our rightful might within certain regions. And now, as you come to this so-called New World, have you felt any decline in your power?”
The Powerful Divine Force remained silent, but the Intermediate Divine Strength deities who were invited naturally played along with the Ancient Divine Spirit,
“Indeed, this is not the case!” replied a deity with flattering promptness. But their response was based on more than just courtesy; many deities truly pondered the Sun God’s words. Could this New World, which was linked to the domains they ruled, really be a New World?
“I can now tell you the reason. The domains you currently rule, including the ones you see, were only part of a vast and boundless world billions of years ago.”
“Is this all true?” a deity could not help but question, as this contradicted their understanding of the world.
“What makes you think I would concoct lies to deceive you?” Sun God Sergei Gradyer exhibited the pride of an Ancient Divine Spirit. Yet this attitude dispelled the doubts in the hearts of the gods, “Are you worthy?”
“But Your Excellency Sergei, why has the world become the way it is now?” a deity further inquired, a mystery they too were unaware of.
“That is due to a disaster!” Sun God Sergei Gradyer’s tone carried a sense of remembrance. He may have been reminiscing, but there was no intention to disclose to the current gods the details of the calamity that had wrought such change upon the world,
“After that great change, the once vast and boundless world of Britannia shattered to what you see today. Then, upon the war-ravaged wasteland, you were all born.”
Hearing this ancient god reveal the secrets of the world, Muria pondered. At last, he learned the name of this Cluster World—Britannia. Though this information served him little purpose, at least he was now aware that the existence of this grand world was not the result of natural evolution.
“Then, Your Excellency Sergei, what was the disaster that shattered the original world?” Such a secret naturally incited deities to seek the source of truth, to explore the realities hidden deep in history.
Unfortunately, the purpose of the Ancient Divine Spirit’s revelation of the world’s origins to the new deities was to further His own ends, not to satisfy their curiosity,
“It is a disaster I wish to forget. I no longer speak of it, nor do I wish to confront it again. It was too tragic, the majority of what I knew perished in that calamity.
As for you now, whether you know the details of that disaster is irrelevant. What you need to concern yourself with is the world that is once again interconnected.”
Although, for those present, a more expansive world, new lands, and intelligent races, signify a ladder to becoming a higher-level being, the disasters that come with it can be handled on your own.
But endless chaos means unpredictable variables will be birthed, and among them, some of you might be forced into hiding.”
“So, what exactly are you trying to say, Your Excellency? Are you threatening us?” A deity clad in battle armor, whose divine light spontaneously destroyed everything around, stepped forward and questioned the Sun God.
“God of War? Ares?” Muria looked at the deity who dared to question the powerful divine force with merely intermediate divine strength, and after sensing the divine aura on Him, couldn’t help but exclaim, “Iron Tough guy.”
However, Muria wasn’t too surprised; a faith deity elevated from mortals could maintain their own will in the early stages of deification, but after becoming a deity, they would gradually be eroded by their divine duties, becoming what their duties wanted Them to be.
Even beings with attributes like the Saint of Hiding, who choose divine duties related to battle such as “Destruction” and “Slaughter,” will over time be eroded by them, turning into brutes.
“Do not twist my words!” The Sun God looked at this ‘Iron Tough guy’ deity without anger, knowing full well the severe influence of divine duties on faith deities, so He wasn’t upset,
“The purpose of calling this meeting is to unite the power of those present to put an end to the chaos of the current world.”
“Here it comes.” Before attending the meeting, Muria had speculated about the purpose of this meeting. Now, hearing what this powerful divine being said, Muria instantly relaxed.
It’s highly unlikely that It would be affected; for quite a long time to come, He estimated that He could peacefully focus on farming and development. This was an interest-dividing conference determining who are the hunters and who are the prey.
As things progressed, the situation unfolded just as Muria had predicted. The Sun God Sergei Gradyer believed the current world to be too chaotic, and the deities with different faiths were the source of the chaos. To end the world’s turmoil, it was necessary to resolve conflicts between deities.
The solution to the conflict was straightforward: the deities attending this meeting would form an alliance and then start to subdue or kill those deities who were not part of this meeting, bringing all domains under the rule of those present, limiting the conflicts to within these fewer than thirty deities.
This was an extremely tempting proposal; the deities present represented the strongest active deities. Once allied, they could easily suppress any outsider deities ineligible for this meeting, even though their numbers were possibly several times greater.
“Before we make the alliance, I would like to ask for the opinion of one deity present.”
As the Pantheon Meeting reached its climax, the Sun God, who was guiding the meeting, set His gaze upon Muria, which also drew the attention of other deities, including two who were invited as powerful divine forces.
“If I remember correctly, your name is Muria, right?” The deity emanating an ancient aura stared at Muria, admiring the new deity who, even under such scrutiny, remained utterly unflustered.
“Yes.” Muria nodded.
“I suppose I don’t need to explain why I am looking for you?”
“Hmm.” Muria acted exceptionally aloof and indifferent. The other deities weren’t surprised by Muria’s attitude, understanding the core conflict of divine duties and deities.
“So, I offer you a choice, would you like to become my subordinate god?” The ancient divine spirit wielding the supreme divine power of the sun asked the young new deity who had mountains as His throne, His majestic voice echoing within the temporarily constructed Semi-Plane.
“Allow me to decline,” Muria replied without hesitation.
“Won’t you consider it?”
“No need.” Muria shook His head, jokingly thinking that no deity who could make Him bow in submission existed in this plane.
“What a pity. To tell the truth, I like you very much; I can feel the surging vitality in your body, you are very young.”
The Sun God did not have an extreme reaction to Muria’s refusal, and to the surprise of Muria and the other deities, the divine being did not make a move,
“So, I’ll give you a choice: hand over your Divine Name of the ‘Sun’, and I can compensate you, ensuring there will be no loss to your power because of it.”
“My answer remains the same,” Muria said, looking fixedly at the increasingly solemn Sun God.
