Chapter 1284 - 1284 1270 You Are Not as Strong as I Imagined
Chapter 1284: Chapter 1270: You Are Not as Strong as I Imagined Chapter 1284: Chapter 1270: You Are Not as Strong as I Imagined “An uncontrollable existence?” Ellis felt his heart convulsing, driven by fear, because he knew what the so-called uncontrollable existence was—it referred to beings with the same level of power as the one he faced, perhaps even more perfect, similar to the Empress.
If he were to confront such an existence, he knew what his performance would be: not only would his combat power be significantly reduced, being suppressed in all aspects, but once he was deliberately targeted by such an existence, he would lose the chance to resurrect.
“Am I to battle such a grand existence this time?” Ellis felt his body and spirit trembling, but although he was fearful, he had no choice but to retreat. Under the Empress’s command, he could only advance boldly.
“Are you scared?” Basolomi noticed the emotional change in his inferior clone, which annoyed him.
“Yes, my lord.”
“Why?”
“…”
“Whatever the reason, don’t hold me back when the time comes, or else, I will personally crush your body, and you won’t have a chance to reincarnate ever again.”
“I won’t hold you back.”
“Hmph!” The strongest member of the Battle Insect Race let out a scornful snort. He waved his hand, and immediately, a swarm of insects with transparent wings flew into the space portal.
Once he confirmed that the first group of Battle Insects had not been attacked, he began to direct more insects to enter, with their average power increasing gradually from weak to strong.
…
“Tsk, Little Muria, your baited fish have arrived, but they’re just some worthless small fry.”
Inside the Tower of Heaven, the Golden Dragon Mother sat on the crystal sealing the Insect Nest Empress, Altis, watching the live footage through the Eye of the Mage. It was a terrifying sight, fierce and vicious insects rushing out of the space portal first, devouring everything in sight.
Soil, rocks, trees, including the wild animals that were fleeing for their lives—all became targets of the insects. As everything under the sun vanished into the mouths of the insects, an environment ideal for the insects was forged.
“It’s alright, the big fish will bite soon.” Muria stared at the screen in front of him. He was very interested in the Battle Insects with epic battle capabilities. He wanted to see what changes it would bring to his world after killing such a special existence and throwing it into his world.
“Be careful, the hooked fish might be too fierce and drag you down instead,” the Golden Dragon Mother reminded with a smile.
“Isn’t my grandfather here? What is there to fear, it’s just a special insect with epic battle capabilities.” Muria subtly complimented his grandfather while also giving himself some insurance.
“Hmm, if an epic level Battle Insect appears, you try to strike first. If you can’t subdue it quickly, I’ll help you,” Dimos cared deeply for his grandson, spoiling him even though he was already the Dragon King.
“Thank you, Grandfather!”
…
“Indeed, it’s a grand world; there are issues here!”
When Basolomi crossed the space corridor, the thunder that had been flashing in the sky due to the massive emergence of the insects immediately fell like floodwaters breaking a dam, rushing down with unstoppable force.
But this strongest member of the Insect Nest Empress’s Battle Insects didn’t just sit and await death; he clenched his fist, and thick black and red spirit light appeared. He swung his fist toward the sky, and then, a black river surged upward against the flow.
Boom!
The upward-flowing river collided with the thunder waterfall slicing through the sky. For a moment, the heavens and the earth shifted colors, all sounds were lost, followed by an earth-shattering roar of explosions.
Endless thunder serpents danced wildly in the sky, representing the World Will, hostile to the potent creatures from the outer realms. It welcomed no creature that could pose a threat to its own existence.
Unfortunately, because of its special mode of existence, it couldn’t use Heavenly Punishment to harshly obliterate an epic being, so the situation remained at a stalemate.
The thunder waterfall in the sky never ceased, pouring without end onto the gigantic insect, while Basolomi threw punch after punch, stubbornly resisting the world’s hostility toward him.
But this was merely a futile effort. Fighting a war of attrition against the world would ultimately lead him to lose.
Thus, the ones truly harmed by the Heavenly Punishment were the insects around Basolomi. As otherworldly organisms, amassing in large numbers, they were equally repelled by the world and also targeted.
Every now and then, some of the insects could be seen split open by the thunder from the sky, charred all over. Some weaker ones were even reduced to ashes, a sight quite tragic indeed.
However, luckily, the vast majority of the insects had no intelligence; they were fundamentally just mobile war weapons. Of course, those intelligent insects responsible for command felt extremely miserable.
Intelligent creatures naturally fear and detest anything that can threaten their existence, and at that time, the thunder in the sky posed such a threat to them.
But what particularly troubled these intelligent insect commanders was that the thunder in the sky mainly targeted Basolomi, their strongest, while the thunder targeting them was random.
Randomly selecting one lucky insect to be struck by lightning—this suspenseful feeling was truly awful, especially since they couldn’t count on a Battle Insect to protect them.
“Your Highness, shall we withdraw for now?”Basolomi felt that continuing like this was not a solution, and through his connection with the Empress, he inquired; she was already aware of everything he had encountered.
“You retreat for now,” the Empress, surprised by her capable subject’s plight and witnessing such a situation for the first time, had already formed some speculations based on the consensus of information.
“I have asked other empresses to send support. Once they have all arrived, then you may go look for my daughter.”
“Okay.”
Finally having received a clear order and no longer needing to endure lightning strikes, Basolomi prepared to lead the Hive Army in retreat. Battling the Heavenly Punishment of a great world was a pointless act; death would achieve nothing.
However, at that same moment, an anomaly occurred—the gloomy sky turned completely dark, but the dense clouds of Thunder within them disappeared.
The land below, occupied by the Insect Race, also vanished, transforming into a sea as calm and dark as ink. Looking out into the distance, one could faintly see an island made of bones and a semi-transparent Ghost Fleet.
“Has it appeared? An existence great enough to rival the sovereigns?”
Bolstered by the knowledge of his identity and strength, Basolomi was one of the Empress’s most powerful weapons. Despite possessing the power to harm an entity on the same level as the Empress, the essential difference between him and a being of her caliber was like heaven and earth.
“Are you going to leave after just a short while? That’s not very nice.”
The youth, with black hair and golden pupils, walked in a sky utterly silent, his eyes extraordinarily radiant in the darkness.
“A fictive world projection? You, such a great being, are actually trying to ambush me, a humble and broken one? Shouldn’t you be proud of this?”
“Hmm, you can take pride, for this is the first time I’ve used such means against an enemy,” Muria observed the head of the Insect Race wrapped in the hatred of creatures, somewhat satisfied.
The depth of resentment within it was not much less than those Void Evil Gods he had encountered before. To such an entity, he would feel no guilt in striking it dead.
“Such an honor!”
In Basolomi’s hands appeared black Burning Soul Flames, and a greatsword that seemed crafted from biological carapace materialized, which he held aimed at Muria.
“Might I ask if you could allow my sword to be stained with your blood? That would grant me even greater glory.”
“What a nice delusion!” Muria laughed, a Army-breaking Halberd swirling with Dragon Flames and Thunder appearing in his hand. The Insect Race, born purely for battle, interested him somewhat.
“Sadly, there is no possibility for that. Shouldn’t you be thinking about how to escape instead?”
“Rather than living a meager life of stealth, I would rather die in a battle against such a magnificent being as yourself.”
Basolomi’s gaze fervent, he swung the sword in his hands toward Muria. The black blade’s aura twisted the dark sky and the silent sea, a strike with all his might, as he had said, wishing to stain his sword with the blood of a great being.
“True to your nature as a war creation of the Insect Race, your will is indeed firm!”
Muria, grasping the relatively large Army-breaking Halberd with one hand, effortlessly shattered the blade aura that nearly burst his world projection.
“As you said, I am crafted as a living war weapon. The only thing you can praise is my determination to die in battle,” Basolomi said.
“Unfortunately.”
“What?”
“You are not as strong as I imagined!”
The sharp blade of the halberd pierced through Basolomi’s chest, which glowed with golden-red light, and then the axe part of the weapon tore through his insect armor.
…
“Basolomi!”
A scream, full of anger and unease, resounded as the massive Insect Nest Planet shook dramatically. The Insect Race Empress, suddenly having lost a powerful subordinate, immediately contacted her kin,
“What are you doing? Why are you so slow?”
“Dream Palace, what’s wrong with you?” Facing her kin’s somewhat abnormal, agitated inquiry, other empresses remained quite calm. After all, sometimes seeing one’s peers defeated could be a pleasing affair.
“I’ve lost contact with Basolomi!”
“What?”
The shocked mental responses of several empresses echoed in the Void. These empresses weren’t all of the Insect Race, just one faction, so they were fairly familiar with each other’s general situations.
“This situation seems bad; should we notify the other empresses?”
