Chapter 1257 - 1257 1244 Endless Silver White
Chapter 1257: Chapter 1244: Endless Silver White Chapter 1257: Chapter 1244: Endless Silver White “Isn’t your mother me?” the girl replied with an awkward smile, remembering these were the words Muria had first said to her when they met, words she had never forgotten.
“Although one could say that, to be more precise, my mother is you, but you are not my mother.”
“What’s the difference?”
“You currently have no memory of being my mother. When my real mother truly awakens, everything you now possess and experience will belong to my mother. Do you understand the difference?”
“…But she is not awake now, is she?” The girl fell silent for a moment, then forced an ugly smile and replied, “Do you plan on waking your mother up ahead of time?”
“No, I will not interfere; I will wait for her to awaken naturally,” Muria said, looking at Areina meaningfully.
“If that is the case, then why speak of partaking in hunting deities?”
“Hmm, do you think hunting a god is a short-term activity?”
“How long do you plan to continue this dangerous act?”
“I’ll continue until there are no gods left that meet my hunting criteria. This process is extremely lengthy, after all, although deities are somewhat weaker in combat, they truly excel in clinging to life.”
“That… What exactly qualifies a god to meet your hunting criteria?” The girl perked at the relevant point, and upon realizing she could continue to happily survive, she didn’t suppress her curiosity.
“Naturally, it’s the gods whose value of good and evil is contrary to mine. By my logical thinking, any deity judged as evil by me is a target of my hunt.”
“You only kill evil gods; you are quite decent then!”
“Decent? Hahaha,” Muria burst out laughing upon hearing the girl’s praise.
“Why are you laughing?”
“Good and evil are only determined based on a standpoint. A hero to me, a foe to another, that’s the idea. Honestly, at my level, discussing good and evil is actually quite hypocritical.”
“So what you intend to kill are all evil gods determined by your own standards of good and evil, right?”
“Correct, this approach is merely to console oneself, and it indeed is a rather selfish act,” Muria said with a self-deprecating smile.
Sitting in a high position allows one to see through many things. For instance, good and evil, justice and evil, are all based on one’s standpoint or faction.
The simplest example can be seen everywhere in Elasia—goblin gnomes, these ugly and inferior races, are labeled as chaotically evil, but this is based on the standpoint of humans, dwarves, elves, and other races.
Because their actions harm the interests or even lives of these factions, they are considered evil, but if one were to consider the standpoint of lowly creatures like goblins, they too are merely trying to survive and sustain their race’s bloodline by engaging in actions like slaughter and destruction. Survival is not wrong.
Of course, Muria understands all of this, but he still detests goblins. Because from his standpoint, they are a pestilence that only causes slaughter and destruction and contributes nothing beneficial to any race beyond their own. Therefore, they have no reason to exist, according to Muria’s view.
…
“So this is a high civilization, one that has been probed three times without yielding any intelligence information; interesting,” Muria remarked.
Muria stood on the back of the Winged Serpent Dragon, having placed the girl Areina, who had always been by his side, within the Vanguard Fleet of the Yuguang Civilization, for now was not the time to take a young girl on an adventure.
Though bringing her might stimulate Golden Dragon Mother into awakening, it was unnecessary, because no one can wake someone pretending to be asleep.
“It doesn’t look special on the outside, and the elements it emits are quite ordinary,” Muria said, stroking his chin as he examined the Domain Gate.
This gate, which looked no different from the others scattered throughout the Earth Star, spanned between heaven and earth. Just by appearance, this portal showed no signs of abnormality compared to the rest, whose numbers were still growing.
But this portal, the domain it connected to, had been deemed extremely dangerous by a civilization capable of Void colonization, which had not even received any intelligence information. That was very intriguing.
There were only two possibilities for such a scenario. The first was that behind this gate there was an extraordinary being with a strong control over its territory.
The second possibility—which was Muria’s favorite—behind the portal, there might be a civilization even more advanced than the Yuguang Civilization. Their technological level surpassed that of Yuguang. Hence, the detectors sent by the Yuguang Civilization had lost contact the moment they entered.
“Let me see which possibility it might be,” Muria said as he rode the Winged Serpent Dragon into the domain, more dangerous than the territory of divine beings.
Muria of course knew that exploring this domain without any intelligence information posed a greater risk than going into battle against divine beings, but according to his own risk assessment, the danger was not enough to threaten his true self’s life.
Given this, there was no reason for hesitation. The risks inherent in the great world could indeed bring great danger, but also opportunities to gain strength.
“What could it be?”
Using his granted permissions, Muria and the Winged Serpent Dragon bypassed the seals placed by the Yuguang Civilization and then stepped into the unknown territory.
Accordingly, and surprisingly, Muria was attacked as soon as he entered. The rhombus-shaped silver-white metal filled all the space before him, firing at Muria riding the dragon.
But when these rhombus-shaped metals struck the naturally derived spirit light shield of the Winged Serpent Dragon, these seemingly small metal bodies exploded instantly, the loud booming flames blooming before Muria’s eyes.
“Is this all?”
Staring at the ongoing, seemingly endless explosions and booms, Muria questioned—the intensity of the attack was not within his expectations.
This terrifying attack, with a wide range and seemingly infinite duration, was easily blocked by just the shield naturally formed by the dragon species he had casually crafted.
“Hmm, this is somewhat interesting,” he noted.
The fact was, it didn’t just end there. The rhombus-shaped metals, much like small cannonballs, hit the Winged Serpent Dragon’s inherent shield. Following their explosion, the silver-white metal dust naturally clung to the shield.
Then, as Muria watched with interest, crystal clusters that resembled natural crystals crazily proliferated on the shield of the Winged Serpent Dragon, flickering with a faint red spirit light.
“It’s absorbing your power,” Muria observed as he watched the silver-white metal clusters gradually envelop and cover the Winged Serpent Dragon’s shield, his interest piqued by this unexpected surprise.
“Attack them!”
Goaded by the attack that had already tested his patience, the Winged Serpent Dragon emitted an impassioned dragon roar, feeling genuinely annoyed by the forceful siphoning of its power, although few in number, was indeed a provocation.
Boom!
Without much build-up, a blazing pillar of dragon flames, laced with traces of lightning, broke through the nearly complete envelopment of the silver-white metal clusters.
In an instant, a large number of silver-white clusters and the rhombus-shaped metals, which had nearly ceased their assault, were obliterated in that furious attack, but more rhombus-shaped metals were drawn in.
In the airspace cleared by the dragon’s roar, Muria saw in the distant sky, hovering rhombus-shaped metals, along with similarly crafted but even larger war weapons.
