Chapter 1212 - 1212 1199 The Center of the World

Chapter 1212: Chapter 1199: The Center of the World Chapter 1212: Chapter 1199: The Center of the World “The rules of this great world have some tricks indeed!” Under the scrutinizing gaze of the middle-aged man reading the newspaper, Muria slowly ascended the stairs and entered Jiuli’s room.

He felt that if he didn’t leave the man’s daughter’s side soon, the seemingly honest man was about to explode. To avoid unnecessary conflict, Muria left first.

“This is problematic!”

As Muria lay on Jiuli’s bed, he let out a sigh full of distress. He had just confirmed that the consciousness of his childhood trainer, Heloise, had not awakened and was still in a deep sleep under the suppression of the world’s rules.

He had also just attempted to awaken her, to no avail. Ordinary methods couldn’t bring a member of his own kind back to consciousness; it required a more aggressive approach.

“Do I really need to beat such a young girl to the brink of death? That’s utterly despicable,” he thought of Heloise’s appearance during the Reincarnation Contract and rubbed his face.

The reason his consciousness was able to awaken was that his reincarnated body had been in a very bad situation, and it was the extreme peril that stimulated his consciousness to awaken.

If Muria wanted to awaken the consciousness of his kin, Heloise, he would need to put her reincarnated body in the same perilous situation.

“How could I bring myself to harm such a young girl,” Muria shook his head, “Forget it, there’s plenty of time, no rush. I’ll wait until this little girl grows up and then make arrangements.”

When it came to the art of tempering people, Muria considered himself quite experienced. He had done it countless times—how to keep a trial participant on the edge of life and death without causing real fatal harm.

While Muria was pondering how to design a consciousness-awakening trial for his childhood companion, Heloise, he unintentionally released mental power that swept over his area, bringing him news that even he found moving.

“What’s this? The world center? A core hub?” Muria was so shocked that he sat upright on the bed and hesitated whether to explore further.

He discovered that the homeland of his student, Jiuli, was undergoing an unprecedented change. For this technology-dominated world, the occurrence of not one, but seventeen doors to other worlds that could not be blocked, was previously unthinkable.

The emergence of portal after portal to other worlds had plunged Jiuli’s homeland into unprecedented chaos, yet it also brought a peace that hadn’t been seen for thousands of years.

This so-called peace meant that all the countries in the great world region of Jiuli’s homeland had ceased all conflicts among themselves, focusing wholly on dealing with the randomly appearing doors to other worlds.

The sheer external pressure was so vast that humans had to put aside their disputes and think about how to use the resources of these other worlds to strengthen human civilization and preserve the integrity of their nations.

Of course, this was the perspective from Jiuli’s homeland. From Muria’s angle, his view was entirely different.

What he saw were seventeen regions of the clustered big world connected by a core hub, forming a whole, whereas before, they were all completely independent of each other.

The significance of this was chilling upon deep reflection. If all went as expected, this vast region connecting eighteen worlds would give rise to a number of powerful beings.

Previously, due to the scarcity of extraordinary resources, those with exceptional talents who couldn’t cultivate would now have the chance to soar to great heights and shine their true light, thanks to this inter-world connection.

“Already seventeen space-time doors have appeared, but this is not the end, it’s just the beginning. It is anticipated that many more space doors will open, linking to this place.”

Muria, according to the information he had collected, arrived at this conclusion that was basically faultless, and then his expression became extremely grave.

Such drastic changes in the world, if one were to say they had nothing to do with the epics who had infiltrated, that would be too much of a self-deception. Without a doubt, the world had initiated its immunity mechanism.

And that would represent mountains of corpses and seas of bloodshed, flesh and blood floating adrift. Even the same species separated by a river would develop differences over time.

Let alone those akin to residing in different worlds, different races, when the great world activates its defense mechanisms, bringing these races together, war will surely ignite.

For resources and for survival, conflict is inevitable, and countless creatures will die because of it. Some races might even go extinct, but at the same time, some races or civilizations may rise from this and grow stronger.

Naturally, a great change that was almost equivalent to dozens or hundreds of medium and small worlds connecting together, was bound to give birth to powerful entities never seen before in these worlds.

“This is truly thrilling!”

Predicting the scenes that would arise once this clustered big world completed its connection, Muria couldn’t help but become somewhat excited—it was a super conflict generated within the big world.

Once a certain threshold was reached, deities and epics were bound to emerge, and even the involvement of even more ancient gods was not an impossibility.

“It’s just tough on these ordinary creatures!”

Muria walked to the window, gazing out at the seemingly tranquil and peaceful cityscape. In the face of the turmoil brought about by the world’s connection, all peace would dissipate into nothingness, and even deities could not remain uninvolved.

“But in any world, it’s the same. The weak have never had the chance to decide their own destiny; the peace they long for is a gift from the strongest.”

“Hmm?” Muria’s eyebrows lifted slightly, and then his face took on an extremely strange expression, “It’s appeared so soon?”

Without a sound or any trace, Muria’s figure disappeared from Jiuli’s room, as he had discovered a very interesting place.

In a skyscraper within a forest of steel that was not especially prominent, a myriad of messy sounds filled with cursing, pleading, and wailing, created an utter chaos.

And the root of the chaos was the blood array covering the airspace above the skyscraper. The complex and profound Six-pointed Star Array exuded an eerie blood-red hue, looking ominously unpropitious.

In truth, the array lived up to its appearance. Blood-colored ripples dropped from within, enveloping the entire skyscraper, forming a cage that did not exist in the material world, turning the humans inside the building into trapped beasts.

“Extraordinary Resurrection!”

A child with black hair and golden pupils stood atop a tall building, gazing at the blood array in his sight with slight surprise,

“Logically, the stronger the entity, the later they should appear. How come a fallen divine being is attempting resurrection now?”
