Chapter 1209 - 1209 1196 Be My Student

Chapter 1209: Chapter 1196: Be My Student! Chapter 1209: Chapter 1196: Be My Student! “I never thought it would be that severe,” Jiuli’s complexion turned slightly green.

He remembered when he had first encountered that exiled Earth Tribe, how the old Earth Person had cried and begged him to become the guardian of the tribe.

But what about the original guardian of that tribe? The tribe had already been exiled, the fate of the original guardian was naturally obvious, yet he had not even considered it at the time.

“Actually, you shouldn’t need others to remind you; you should be able to realize that regardless of the power, once it falls, those with the highest authority usually cannot escape.”

Muria stroked his chin, “If you don’t want the worst outcome to occur, then you should do everything you can to strengthen your own powers, as well as those of the tribe under your protection.”

“I can…”

“No, you can’t, bound by the Power of Faith, you have already made a contract with them, you can’t escape it, your only choice now is to lead your tribe to rise.”

Muria saw through the young man’s thoughts at a glance, assigning him responsibility for a tribe similar to goblins; he thought too much. When faced with unbearable consequences, thinking of running away first is the normal reaction.

“I…” Jiuli felt an urge to curse.

“No need for regrets; your choice, although somewhat playful, is seen as rather correct in my eyes,” said Muria.

“Why?”

“Opportunity and risk are equivalent; you took such a big risk and you should naturally enjoy corresponding opportunities. Isn’t this how you became a deity?”

“What kind of god am I? Although you said I’m an Earth God, I haven’t felt any change that the identity of an Earth God has brought me.”

“The reason you don’t notice any change in yourself is that the tribe you now govern is simply too weak to offer you much in terms of faith.”

While Muria was enjoying the pleasure of scolding and then comforting the young Earth God, the Earth God’s tribes arrived, and then, Muria saw a familiar scene.

The moment they saw their guardian appear, all the 300+ tribe members, regardless of what they were doing, all knelt down at the sight of the black-haired young man, their expressions extremely devout.

Even toddlers who knew nothing were placed in a kneeling position by their parents and were chanting Jiuli’s name and singing praises; this was a scene the ancient deities loved to see.

“I once told them not to kneel before me, but no one listened to me, so I just let it be for the time being.”

Noticing Muria’s gaze, Jiuli looked at the scene that had once enthralled him and laughed awkwardly.

“No need to explain; I understand your actions,” Muria smiled seeing the somewhat uneasy Earth God. “Besides, kneeling to a guardian is not a special treatment unique to you; it’s probably a tradition of this race.”

“Just an Earth God trying to change a tradition that this race may have followed for many years, isn’t that a bit presumptuous?” Muria laughed as Jiuli transformed into a Golden-scaled Giant amid the chants.

“No, I just want to make some changes, although it did feel really good at first, but if it continues like this for a long time, it really affects efficiency.”

The golden giant, carrying Muria, headed towards the center of the tribe, and where he passed, his heavy body left a series of footprints, which some Earth People moved towards.

“Kneeling is the simplest way for humanoid creatures to express respect to deities. What you can do now is respect the tradition of the Laxia people, reach the pinnacle, and then make changes.”

Muria turned his head slightly to see the green-skinned Earth People kissing the footprints left by Jiuli, chanting praises zealously, and judging from the decorations on these Earth People, they were also higher-status individuals within the tribe.

Muria looked over the scene before him and, unsurprisingly, saw a Totem Pillar about seven or eight meters tall at the very center of the tribe’s residence,

“Speaking of which, your tribe is quite backward, whether in terms of buildings or weapons,” Muria observed the surroundings, noting the tribe was very primitive.

Totem Poles, animal hide tents, wooden weapons, leaf clothing, and huge beasts…everything indicated just how primitive this tribe was.

But the Totem Pole and the huge beasts standing in the center of the tribe indicated that although this race, or civilization, was backward, they were not weak.

Despite the word ‘Earth’ in his title, an Earth God ultimately could harness the Power of Faith; although weak and not recognized by the True Gods, accumulating sufficient faith might still turn an Earth God into a True God.

Civilizations capable of crafting large ships and cannons merely occupied a trivial part of a Sea Island, which, apart from their caution, also stemmed from the local creatures on this world that significantly awed and deterred them.

“The backwardness of the Laxia race is caused by various factors. But in my view, the geography imposes the greatest limitation on them.”

The giant led Muria into the largest bark hut of the tribe, and a faint smell of herbs wafted through the air—it was not the unpleasant odor she had imagined.

“Not bad, the terrain of an island makes it hard to nurture an advanced civilization since exchanging information is greatly inconvenient. However, when I flew over here earlier, I noticed that the Laxia tribes across the island all look very similar, which suggests that they must have been united in the distant past,”

“That’s conjecture, isn’t it?” said the giant, seated cross-legged as he looked at the diminutive child.

“Yes, there’s no evidence, but the result won’t be much different. It’s a guess based on my experience.”

“So, Mr. Mu, you are not a creature from this world either, are you? Like me, you come from another world, right?” Jiuli asked with piercing eyes, quite sharp.

“Hmm, you’re only realizing this now?” Muria said, her face not displaying the anticipated expression from Jiuli but rather looking at him with surprise.

“Erm.” Jiuli couldn’t help feeling defeated, but in a moment, intense curiosity masked his frustration, “Mr. Mu, what is your world like?”

“Do you think I would tell you?” Muria responded with a sidelong glance, causing Earth God to feel a bit embarrassed.

“Sorry!”

“No need to apologize. I know you really don’t have any common sense. Just be more mindful next time. Casual probing about someone else’s world can be seen as a form of aggression,”

Muria chuckled, then drew aside the doorway curtain woven of fine vines, “I’m going out for a stroll; you deal with your business first.”

“I…” Earth God, about to speak but seeing Muria leave the hut, looked helpless and completed his thought, “I don’t actually have any chores to handle!”

Tribe matters were naturally handled by the Earth people’s leader; his role as a guardian was to just listen to the leader’s reports. If there wasn’t any warfare, his presence was akin to a mascot—of course, he also acted as a significant buff, as the efficiency of the Laxia people in their undertakings was heightened by his presence.

“Blood Sacrifice!”

Muria strolled to the base of the Totem Pillar upon leaving the hut, observing the mottled bloodstains and the strong, pungent smell of blood.

His focus wasn’t on this. Blood sacrifices were a common practice in primitive tribes, but his attention was fixed on the patterns on the Totem Pillar. At its very top, he saw the depiction of a battle, drenched in blood, between the Golden-scaled Giant and the Green-scaled Snake People.

“Interesting.” Looking at the naturally formed tribal pattern, Muria glanced at the nearby earth people who tried to intervene but ended up paralyzed on the ground from the Dragon Prestige he had released. The craft of the tribe clearly could not have produced the detail on the pillar; its formation involved Extraordinary Powers.

“Mr. Mu, I am planning to go home for a bit. You…”

“I’ll go with you,” Muria replied without a second thought, utterly unaware of the significant trouble his decision presented to the young earth god before him.

“This…” Hesitating for a long time and having developed several excuses, Jiuli’s expression turned stiff, his worst fears realized.

In his eyes, this dragon, whose arrival was mysterious and whom he currently had no chance of defeating, was like a ticking bomb he did not want to bring near his family, let alone have it enter his world.

“Unwilling?” Observing the troubled look on the face of the young man before him, Muria chuckled mischievously, “Your reluctance doesn’t matter, as long as I have wings to carry me wherever I wish, you can’t stop me.”

“No, I’m not trying to stop you.” Jiuli hurriedly explained, realizing indeed he couldn’t stop him since there was such a large portal between his world and the Archipelago World; he simply couldn’t seal it. It was incredibly easy for the being before him to infiltrate his world.

“Well, then I am coming with you,” Muria said, looking at the conceding youth, “To make you feel a bit more at ease, let’s establish a more stable relationship!”

“What kind of relationship?” Jiuli asked in surprise, still in his giant form.

“I have experienced being a father, but I have never been a teacher. So, are you interested in becoming my first student?” Muria asked with a smile.

“You… you want to be my teacher?” Jiuli was startled.

“What? You think I’m not qualified?”

“No, it’s just that I…” No matter how he thought about it, Jiuli felt that Mr. Mu’s proposal was fraught with malice.

“Since that’s not the issue, then it’s settled.” Muria’s assertive manner left no room for rejection.

“From now on, I am your teacher, and as your teacher, I shall give you a gift as a token of our mentor-student relationship!”
