Chapter 1208 - 1208 1195 Reality-Based Business Strategy
Chapter 1208: Chapter 1195 Reality-Based Business Strategy Game Chapter 1208: Chapter 1195 Reality-Based Business Strategy Game “I originally thought you were a native of this place, but it seems I was wrong. The homeland behind this portal must be yours!” Muria looked at the Space Gate connecting two realms, her eyes shimmering with light.
Given the current state of this Space Gate, it had obviously appeared not long ago. Otherwise, it wouldn’t look like this; a civilization capable of producing Iron Battleships could absolutely crush a race still engaged in Primitive Totem Worship.
And now, the civilization on the other side of the portal was clearly in a very cautious initial exploration phase, which could be understood by observing the Sea Island below that had only been partially explored.
“Yes, I am not a creature native to this soil.” Jiuli admitted tranquilly; there was nothing worth hiding as his form differed greatly from the creatures of the Island.
“I knew it! How could a primitive and wild Sea Area like this possibly possess such a refined method of cultivation left by your ancestors?”
“Even the most refined cultivation method would be of no use. In my homeland, traditions like mine have fallen into decline and are no longer mainstream.”
“Oh? Why have they fallen into decline?”
“Because it’s hard to find resources to assist in cultivation.” A youngster, who had started cultivating in his early years and spent more than a decade merely laying the foundations, responded with a wry smile.
“I see, but here, you should be able to find the resources you need quite easily.” Muria mused, having gained some new information.
The distribution of resources within a world is always uneven—some areas are abundantly resourced while others are barren to an unimaginable degree.
That’s true within a single world, let alone a Cluster World that exists in an extremely peculiar form, divided into countless areas whose extraordinary resources are naturally not evenly distributed. It wouldn’t be strange for there to be areas resembling a time of declining law and tradition.
“Hmm, I barely managed to complete the most basic cultivation in my homeland, but here, I’ve gained two powerful forms of battle.”
“Alright, let’s go have a look, young Earth God,” Muria urged Jiuli, who was feeling wistful.
“Can we not make too much of a fuss? The explorers from my homeland are extremely sensitive right now and would attack any creature beyond their understanding.”
“Alright, I understand, it’s just about masking our presence, right? That’s easy.”
…
“Is this your true form? You look just like a…”
On the bustling beach, a well-dressed boy sized up the slim, black-haired young man before him, his eyes slightly puzzled.
“I know, my appearance doesn’t look very healthy, but this is just a side effect of my cultivation method. It’s not a big problem; actually, my body is stronger than that of any normal person.”
Jiuli, having reverted from his battle form, looked surprised at the boy of about six or seven years of age in front of him, replying while still in shock.
“You’d have a hard time finding a girlfriend looking like that,” Muria said to the pale-faced young man with dry, yellow hair, half-joking.
“I already have a girlfriend.” Jiuli’s lips curled up, his tone revealing an uncontrollable pride.
“How did you manage to find a girlfriend looking so frail? Did you show her your abilities? You just said that the extraordinary had faded in your homeland.”
“Ahem, it’s precisely because the extraordinary is in decline that someone like me, who can complete basic cultivation and harness extraordinary powers, is so attractive.”
“Tsk, so you mean to say you are a once-in-a-millennium super genius, huh?”
“I am not a genius; I’m well aware that my talents are mediocre. I’m just luckier than others,” he said humbly.
“Hmm, I believe you; your luck is indeed good,” Muria said, her eyes deepening as she looked up at the sky, her gaze filled with an unnameable hue.
“Let’s go, Mr. Mu, come see my turf,” he invited.
“What, you aren’t planning to show me around that base?” Muria looked towards the distance where a jungle had been leveled and replaced by reinforced concrete buildings.
“That won’t be necessary, I suppose. It would be troublesome if any of them offended you,” Jiuli chuckled dryly, his essential nature of life now distinct from his Kind, yet he still acknowledged his Human identity.
To him, the mysterious being before him, self-proclaimed as a dragon, felt like an endlessly deep ocean, unfathomable and vast. How could such a being be casually led to a crowded place?
“You’re overthinking; I’m not as prideful as you imagine. I am a very amiable dragon,” Muria asserted with a serious tone.
“Mr. Mu, please follow me this way,” the pale young man said, ignoring the dragon’s words. He bowed slightly to Muria and led the way towards the jungle behind the beach. As they moved, a light mist enveloped them, refracting light around them.
“Jiuli, every time you travel from your home through the Space Gate to this side, do you always go to the Land of Faith like this?”
“Ah—” Suddenly hearing such a question, Jiuli was caught off guard.
“Why the panic?”
“No… I.”
“Don’t play coy with me. If you don’t want to talk, then simply don’t, but what I hate most is when people lie to my face.”
Muria, seeing Jiuli trying to organize his words, attempting either to persuade or change the subject, spoke with a grave tone that frightened the young lad considerably.
“You’re worried about the safety of your family, aren’t you?” Muria paused and then turned to look back at the towering Space Gate behind him.
“You’re afraid that I’ll use that portal, enter your hometown, and through your connections, harm your friends and relatives, right?”
“I…” Looking at the youth in front of him, whose face was youthful but who possessed a pair of golden pupils that could see into the hearts of others, Jiuli felt oppressively exposed, his thoughts laid bare in an entirely unpleasant manner.
“It seems that is indeed the case. However, you needn’t worry about this concern, as I have no interest in harming any feeble creatures.”
Seeing the young man startled by his words, Muria couldn’t help but chuckle. Then he questioned him,
“When you walk, you might inadvertently step on some ants, but would you deliberately seek out an anthill to exterminate all the ants inside?”“…”
“Well, I admit there are those Evil Gods who slaughter billions of creatures to augment their own power and psychopaths who derive pleasure from such slaughter, but I have nothing to do with either of those.”
Jiuli pursed his lips, gave no answer, and silently entered the jungle, leading the way for Muria. After a distance, the youth’s mouth rapidly moved, chanting an incantation inaudible to anyone but himself.
The sound of trees being knocked over and underbrush crushed rustled through. Under Muria’s observation, a dozen Spider Knights erupted from within the jungle.
These green-skinned knights, mounted on giant spiders, showed ecstatic joy on their faces upon seeing Jiuli. Then they dismounted swiftly, kneeling on the ground, bowing deeply to the youth with extreme devotion.
Yet, the face of the youth showed no change, even appearing solemn—clearly, he was accustomed to being worshiped by these humanoid creatures, who stood no taller than five feet.
“Mr. Mu, do you require a mount?” the youth, worshiped as a deity by the Earth People, asked without permitting them to rise, turning to face Muria.
“No need,” Muria surveyed the spiders, which were ample for an ordinary human to ride, and shook his head.
“Then I will not ride either.” Seeing Muria decline such a convenient form of transportation, Jiuli, who had lost a powerful combat mount in the previous battle, felt a bit regretful.
Thus, a fledgling Earth God and a black dragon transformed into humanoid form progressed toward a moderately-sized tribe under the watchful eyes of a dozen Earth People Knights. During this journey, Muria listened to Jiuli’s complete experience of coming to this cluster world region.
“So, originally you just met a tribe of exiled Earth People and, moved by compassion, agreed to become their protector to help them rebuild their tribe.”
“That’s right.” Having recounted his experiences over the past half-year, the pale-faced youth displayed a face full of emotion, “I never thought I would actually become an Earth God.”
“Hmm, can you tell me, did you genuinely act out of kindness at that time, or was it a whim?” Muria looked at Jiuli, asking with a smile.
Truth be told, the appearance of the indigenous people on the island was somewhat hard to describe, and when these goblin-like creatures knelt in front of you pleading, could you really be moved to kindness?
Probably not, since nearly all sentient beings favor appearances, all preferring those who are mighty, grand, and handsome. And these green-skinned dwarfs, referred to by Jiuli as Rachians, simply did not fit human aesthetic standards.
“At that time, I just wanted to try something new and experience different things, so I didn’t think too much about it.”
“Jiuli, let me remind you that although you’ve gained a tribe, your fate is now bound to it.”
“What do you mean?”
“Do you think being an Earth God is easy? You’ve enjoyed the privileges, so naturally, you must also bear the duties. The moment you became the protector of the Earth People Tribe, you became an Earth God, but simultaneously, your fortunes are tied with theirs; if the tribe perishes, you can’t escape either.”
“This…” The youth’s face turned rigid, having never considered this point; the main reason he had agreed to be the protector of the Earth People Tribe was largely because he enjoyed being worshipped by hundreds of them.
“Don’t tense up, just think of this as a real-life management strategy game, except this game cannot fail.”
