Chapter 1176 - 1176 1163 Fear of Insufficient Firepower

Chapter 1176: Chapter 1163: Fear of Insufficient Firepower Chapter 1176: Chapter 1163: Fear of Insufficient Firepower The evil spirit, with a massive form as vast as a mountain, bellowed in rage, sorrow, and then fear as it was bombarded by wave after wave of relentless cannon fire. This was the shift in its emotions after encountering the Ghost Fleet.

The overlap and fusion of two worlds had rudely awakened it from its slumber at the bottom of the sea, and the entanglement of world rules had directly altered portions of the evil spirit’s very nature.

Formerly composed and unmoved by external forces, the evil spirit had become agitated. It roamed the sea areas, and upon encountering the Ghost Fleet, it immediately launched an attack, seeking to expel them from its territory.

Then it suffered the heavy bombardment of the Ghost Fleet, enduring ceaseless waves of Death Gas Cannons infused with various elemental damages, like a never-ending fierce storm.

Even as a legend, possessing a recovery ability beyond the comprehension of ordinary evil spirits, it still wailed in pain under the artillery onslaught, feeling its body weakening from the shots, its rate of regeneration far overtaken by the rate of destruction.

Its counterattacks against the fleet were so pathetically weak. As a legend, it had the ability to strike targets at an extremely long range, able to attack the dozens of closest Ghost Battleships simultaneously, but such attacks were futile.

It had already realized that these battleships shared a trait similar to its own; their nearly spiritual essence allowed them to draw abundant resources and recover swiftly, should they not be instantly pulverized to debris.

Although it had destroyed over a hundred Undead battleships in this battle, it had not truly obliterated a single one; it merely caused the Ghost Ships to lose their firepower.

And as these ships lost their combat effectiveness, they would immediately retreat from the battlefield and be replaced by other Ghost Ships, which continued the saturated assault on the Legendary Evil Spirit.

In such circumstances, the powerful Legendary Evil Spirit began to consider a temporary retreat, but as soon as this thought emerged, it discovered there was nowhere to flee.

Around it in all directions, within its range of perception, unknowingly, everything had become those loathsome Ghost Ships. It saw no path of escape; it had no way out.

But, was that really the case? The formidable evil spirit stretched out its claws to pierce through space, attempting to tear apart the realms, to leave this sea area, but the durability of the space here had long surpassed what it remembered.

Where the worlds overlapped, the strength of space exponentially climbed, and its spatial structure was now altered. Hoping to tear it apart with ease as before was nothing but a delusional fantasy.

Moreover, as the Legendary Evil Spirit made its move to rend space, a series of incantation bullets resembling dimensional anchors that locked down space were fired from the many Ghost Ships, further solidifying the space around the evil spirit.

And as the evil spirit struggled and wailed, on the brink of defeat and about to be captured by the fleet, the highest commander of the Ghost Fleet furrowed his brow.

“Your Benevolence, are you dissatisfied?”

The mere emotional fluctuations caused a change in the surrounding space’s elemental makeup, and the Undead, who served at his side with trepidation-filled hearts, knelt in submission.

These most powerful Undead, born from the Sea of the Dead, racked their brains but could not understand why such a being would be discontent when the fleet was about to claim victory in a battle against a powerful Legendary Evil Spirit.

“Not enough, far from enough,” said the avatar of the underworld god, his body mostly shrouded in darkness, as he gazed into a watery mirror showing the Legendary Evil Spirit that still seemed able to endure the fleet’s bombardment for a while longer.

“May I ask, Your Benevolence, what is not sufficient?” queried a being who had risen from an ignorant low-level Undead to become the strongest Dark Knight in the Sea of the Dead. From within his skull, reverberated a soulful resonance filled with respect, adoration, and reverence.

“The firepower of the fleet is not enough,” Muria declared, observing the evil spirit that had already absorbed countless cannonballs.

If it weren’t for the overwhelming number of Ghost Ships he had brought, Muria doubted whether this fleet could withstand being completely demolished by this evil spirit’s counterattack without a legend of their own at its helm.

“This…” Hearing Muria’s reason for dissatisfaction, the Undead glanced at each other in surprise. Such a reason was truly beyond their expectations.

Even as Undead, they knew that their own strength was of utmost importance. The development and manufacturing of external objects, of course, could not compare with the importance of personal cultivation.

And this had led to the Ghost Battleships that Muria had looted from Barbosa remaining almost unchanged in power; the only difference was that the ships had grown in size.

But what use was that? If the upper limit of destructive power remained unchanged, getting bigger only meant becoming an easier target for the enemy.

“Just a legendary Undead, and yet nearly three hundred main battleships, combining their attack for so long and still unable to take it down, is truly disappointing!”

Muria made no effort to conceal his displeasure with the Ghost Fleet; their firepower was too weak! Could he tolerate this? Of course not!

“In this sea area, all the ghost ships must be modified, and the firepower must be strengthened. Otherwise, those who are unaware might think I am taking you out to sea for fishing!”

Hearing Muria’s unwavering will, the powerful undead Standing Attendants around him silently lowered their heads, and then responded in unison to his command.

Although some undead believed that upgrading the ghost ships was completely unnecessary, at this stage, when they had just acquired the opportunity to serve this great existence, anyone who dared to oppose the will of their master was likely to be beaten to death by their peers before long.

Then, Muria ignored these undead and began to think about how she could transform the ghost battleships. The ghost ships that once amazed him and even made him covetous had now become outdated antiques in his eyes, lagging behind the times.

Of course, these ghost ships all had an extremely strong compatibility, coupled with Barbosa, an experienced lich with a rich history, who left possibilities for further enhancement and evolution in each battleship when creating them.

While Muria, seized by a fear of inadequate firepower ingrained deep in his soul, came up with one after another renovation plan for his ghost ships in a short period,

The Legendary Evil Spirit that had been battling the Ghost Fleet for nearly two hours finally exhausted its strength, and then was swiftly captured and sealed, brought before Muria as the first material for his battleship transformation.

“It’s finally over.”

Watching the powerful evil spirit that he had never seen in the human world fall under the fleet’s cannon fire, Niyaji heaved a sigh of relief.

In this area that clearly had no relation to the human world, he treated every powerful being he encountered as an enemy of humanity, imagining the massive harm they would cause to humans if they ever clashed.

So, when he saw a monster capable of causing a human country to rot subdued by another group of monsters, the Exorcist felt genuinely happy, spellbound by the thought that humanity had one less formidable threat.

“Is it you two? Come with me.”

Just then, a cold voice rose beside the two Exorcists still immersed in the afterglow of the epic battle, and as they turned around, they were immediately confronted by a being similar yet entirely different from themselves.

This was similar to the evil spirits they had driven out and eradicated many times in the past, but unlike the insubstantial, intangible monsters they had destroyed, this being had a very special and unique feature.

In what seemed to be its chest area, lay a finely-detailed, beating black-red heart, connected to translucent, vein-like structures, pumping a light grey fluid, which turned into light and merged into the monster’s body shortly after leaving the heart.

“You are…” The moment Niyaji, reminded of his own bodily transformation, started to speak, the monster rudely cut him off.

“I am a monster that is the sworn enemy of your humans; there’s no doubt about that. Unlike you humans who have benefited from the Law Baptism, my strength has not increased in the slightest, in fact, I have acquired a fatal weakness because of it.”

The monster gestured towards its own beating heart in its chest, displaying a highly advanced intelligence that left the two Exorcists staring in stunned silence.

“Enough, this isn’t the time to chat. The master of this fleet wants to see you both, come with me.”

Seeing these two Exorcists, who were once mortal enemies but now more appropriately called kin, the monster with living flesh turned and led the way, exposing its back to them without the slightest worry of an attack.

The Exorcists exchanged a look but did not perform any foolish actions; instead, they followed the clearly different monster into the interior of the gigantic battleship, prepared to meet the towering presence beyond the mortal realm, unaware of their luck.

While Muria’s envoy of the god of the dead met with two altered beings eroded by World Rules at the boundary of two worlds, the meditating original Muria, seated cross-legged Beyond the World, opened his eyes, looking into the darkness of the Void.

“Though I knew the fluctuation of laws emitted by the fusion of the two worlds would be impossible to conceal, possibly attracting some special entities, I didn’t expect them to arrive this soon, this early.”

The Giant God wrapped in Dragon Snakes of Golden Thunder exhaled a sigh, releasing a Furious Wind that stretched for thousands of miles in the Void, and then his Qi gradually began to boil…
