Chapter 1175 - 1175 1162 Accept the Baptism of Fire

Chapter 1175: Chapter 1162: Accept the Baptism of Fire! Chapter 1175: Chapter 1162: Accept the Baptism of Fire! The massive iron ships before their eyes, although not material in the normal sense, represented that the monsters controlling these battleships possessed sufficient intelligence and technology, and had even developed a civilization.

This was enough to strike fear into anyone’s heart. In the human world, while there were monster invasions and evil spirits causing considerable destruction,

in the overall battle situation, humans still held the upper hand. Even if a powerful evil spirit capable of wreaking havoc in a city appeared, it would soon be suppressed, expelled, or even slain by humans!

And what was the reason for this advantage? Niyaji, as a grand exorcist, couldn’t have been clearer; it was because humans had built a civilization through their intelligence, and with the advantage of civilization, suppressed all non-human entities that invaded.

Indeed, evil spirits were powerful, and even possessed wisdom and various strange abilities, but they could only be considered intelligent beasts, fighting and battling solely on instinct and talent.

Therefore, humans, who were inherently at a disadvantage when confronting evil spirits, could suppress them. But this advantage was a blessing brought about by the power called civilization.

If these monsters also developed a civilization, learned to unite and cooperate, and made use of things beyond themselves, then humanity’s advantage would vanish, and the question of who suppressed whom would become meaningless.

“If these monsters assault the human world, on what can we humans rely to hold them back?”

As fear overwhelmed him, Niyaji could not help but ask himself. After pondering, the grand exorcist helplessly hung his head; he couldn’t think of anything within the human ranks capable of contending with the Ghost Fleet that crowded the sea before him.

Just as these exorcists, both enveloped in the vital forces and Death Qi, were shocked by the fleet and lost in their thoughts, an iron Ghost Ship, nearly a hundred meters from end to end, subtly changed its course, heading toward the deserted island where they stood.

This also disrupted the exorcists’ thoughts and forced them to focus on the non-human-made object that was gradually approaching them.

Then they saw, on the unreal-feeling iron battleship that glowed with a faint green light on the surface, a Skeleton appeared, holding a bone staff and draped in a gray cloak.

This skeleton, devoid of any flesh and with bones like crystals, looked down upon them from on high; within its skull, a pale blue Soul Fire danced, emitting emotional waves known as joy.

“Lucky survivors touched by chaotic rules, cackling, merit served on a silver platter.”

The Skeleton Mage, who commanded the Undead Guard Ship, was not surprised or concerned about the bizarre existence of the two below; its joy stemmed from that.

Because the ruler of the entire Ghost Fleet was very interested in creatures affected by the clashes of the rules of both realms, such beings were viewed as walking merit in the eyes of the undead throughout the Ghost Fleet.

“Two lucky or perhaps unlucky fellows, do not resist.” Faint ripples of the soul spread, carrying the Skeleton Mage’s will into the minds of the two exorcists, initiating basic communication and exchange.

Once one practiced or reached a certain powerful realm, one could naturally break through the restraints of language and text, communicating with any intelligent soul-bearing creature without hindrance using the Soul Sound.

Immediately after, the proud undead spellcaster did not wait for the unfortunate duo to reply and extended its slightly translucent fingers, pointing gently at the two exorcists.

Gray-white winds swept toward the two exorcists and transformed into two huge advanced Mage’s Hands, seizing them towards the Ghost Ship.

The exorcists, treated as cargo by this special undead, did not resist because they felt no malice from it, and more importantly, the force it represented was too overwhelming for them to even think of resisting.

“What being are you? And what are these ships?” Once grabbed onto the deck of the iron ship, the exorcist Ingell tentatively asked.

Although the creature before him was another non-human monster wrapped in Death Qi, it differed from those he had expelled and purified before, most notably in that this spellcaster-looking being possessed a physical body.

“Stay here quietly and don’t try anything untoward, or you’ll waste my energy. A knight will soon come to take you to where you belong,” the Skeleton Mage commanded, disregarding the exorcist’s question and adopting a condescending tone.

Without waiting for the exorcist’s reaction, the Skeleton Mage slowly sank into the deck, continuing to guide the progress of this massive undead creation.

“Such arrogance!” Ingell, who had not been mistreated, felt somewhat indignant, “Do they really think they can just push us around as they please?”

“Of course, we can. Do you really think you can resist?” Niyaji glanced at his friend, “Believe me, if we mess around, we will truly die here without any chance of recovery. Besides, they have the right to be prideful; he is a member of this massive fleet. If I were in his shoes, I guess I’d act the same way.”

“Ever since I became an exorcist, I haven’t had to put up with this kind of treatment.” The exorcist, who had been ignored from start to finish, was somewhat sullen, though he understood the situation at hand, his mindset was slow to adjust.

“Now you can get a taste of it. Just do as he says and don’t make any moves. Wait for the knight he mentioned to arrive,” Niyaji surveyed the empty deck around them, then spoke to his companion.

“I know we absolutely can’t afford any mishaps right now. We must find a way to return to the human world and inform the Pope about the existence of this Ghost Fleet. Humanity must be prepared for the presence of this fleet.”

“Good that you understand. So no matter what happens, it’s best to endure it for now.”

While the two exorcists encouraged each other and discussed their next course of action, a violent wind rushed from the grey sky, enveloping them, and a Dark Knight, surrounded by Nether Fire riding a Flying Bone Horse, descended from above.

The two exorcists watched in stunned silence as the powerful Undead being before them landed. This Undead seemed to bear no particular oddity but its size was simply immense.

Immensely so that if the knight’s mount raised its forelimbs, it could easily crush the two diminutive exorcists into dust.

Of course, the knight did not do so. He silently used his lance to pick them up, then soared into the sky, racing towards the center of the fleet, without any intention of communicating with them.

“What kind of hellish transportation method is this? Don’t they know what ‘gentle’ means?”

Ingell complained loudly as he was skewered by the lance of a powerful Undead knight, the keen wind cutting against his body like a blade. He could never have dreamed he would be treated this poorly, worse even than a piece of cargo.

But the Undead knight flew so fast through the air that Ingell’s complaints went unheard by his companion.

The furious wind howled in front of them, even warping their shriveled Undead bodies, yet they weren’t blown off the knight’s lance by the powerful gusts.

This Dark Creature’s control over its power had reached an incredible level. Just as the two exorcists began to wonder if they’d disintegrate midair, the wind ceased, and the knight alighted on a vast deck, dropping them down.

The two exorcists, with their feet back on solid ground, didn’t rush to converse. As they subconsciously surveyed their surroundings, they were overcome with shock.

“Are we on a ship now, or on a vast island?” Niyaji murmured, feeling the ground beneath his feet no different from solid earth.

“Look around. There’s no moving island on the sea. It’s definitely a ship!”

“But this ship is too large. How was it built?”

Feeling like country bumpkins, the exorcists took in everything around them. It was far from as quiet as the Undead Guard Ship where they had previously been. Numerous powerful Undead came and went aboard this vessel, paying almost no attention to their presence.

“What do we do now?” Niyaji asked his friend, looking around bewildered. The place they were in was exceptionally vast and spectacular, but it was inhabited by entities that could easily erase them from existence.

“We wait!” The Undead knight that had brought them here was long gone, and they had no Undead to question, mainly because they dared not, “Someone will deal with us eventually.”

But the two exorcists didn’t meet any Undead come to deal with them. Instead, they witnessed the posture of this seemingly invincible fleet as it attacked, of course, not the whole fleet.

Deafening booms and explosions came from afar, accompanied by tremors that sent shivers down their spines. Faintly, they could hear the indistinct roar of a Monster in the distance, sounding cruel and brutal, yet with a hint of helplessness?

“Look, quick! Look!”

Niyaji felt his friend shaking his arm wildly, his voice laced with excitement and barely concealed terror, for in the distant sky, a Legendary Evil Spirit emitting a dark spirit light stood between the heavens and sea, clashing with part of this fleet.

One could see a barrage of continuous gunfire exploding upon the Evil Spirit, eroding its spectral form. This powerful spirit of unprecedented and unseen might also fought back fiercely, exerting its full strength in retaliation.
