Chapter 1153 - 1153 1140 Those Elders Who Always Worry

Chapter 1153: Chapter 1140: Those Elders Who Always Worry Chapter 1153: Chapter 1140: Those Elders Who Always Worry “I…”

At this moment, the Thorned Evil God was very baffled. What he had anticipated happened—the being that severely injured the Desolate Evil God had pursued him. However, what he had not expected was that not just one, but two beings arrived, and upon seeing him, they didn’t consider communicating and directly attacked him.

This sudden development caught the Thorned Evil God off guard, but he quickly reacted. Amidst the billowing black mist, seventeen spiny tentacles met the two slashing scars flying towards him.

Thump!

The golden blade light fell on these thick tentacles, instantly severing three of them. Like worms, they writhed in the Void, scattering droplets of highly corrosive blood. This blood, wrapped in golden arc light and Dragon Flames, quickly vanished in the Void, erased from existence.

The three spiritually potent tentacles that had been severed, driven by instinct, tried to return to their main body. However, the golden Thunderfire flickering at their stumps prevented them from fusing back.

This forced the Thorned Evil God to expend some power to erase the residual force of Muria’s sword left on his wounds.

Compared to the achievements of Muria’s single slice, the result of Michaela’s sword strike was somewhat lacking. Her sword qi, a deep red color, only managed to shave off one of the Thorned Evil God’s tentacles, barely making an impact.

If not for the contrast with Muria’s cut, her sword strike might have seemed decent, since it did wound an Evil God. Unfortunately, she attacked together with Muria.

Seeing the disparity in the damage their attacks caused to the Evil God in front of them, a flash of divine light flickered in Michaela’s eyes. She realized that after daringly pulling off two maneuvers, Muria’s strength had grown considerably, widening the gap between them.

Yet, she did not know just how vast the gap between her and Muria was, since merely relying on the aura emanated couldn’t fully determine a creature’s battle prowess. Muria also made great efforts to avoid direct combat with her.

Now, Michaela’s doubts were resolved, she saw the difference between her current self and her husband, even though both simply wielded their weapons, attacking the same target.

Muria had sliced off three of the Evil God’s tentacles, while she had only managed one. Muria’s sword slice was full of momentum, striking the Evil God’s fourth tentacle and cutting off a large portion, almost with the power to sever it entirely.

Her sword qi, however, could only just barely managed to sever a tentacle. This stark contrast made Michaela feel somewhat melancholic and also a bit frustrated.

She still remembered when she and Muria first met, she had once outmatched Muria, and now, such a significant gap had developed between them.

Why had this happened? Was she not working hard enough? Or was she not diligent enough in her cultivation?

Neither was the case; rather, it was that Muria always liked taking shortcuts, unlike her who cultivated earnestly. He always thought of relying on external help and had thus ascended to his current state.

The Blazing Sky God Race instinctively pursued power and purity in their bloodline. Their bloodline, left by the Ancient Gods, meant that every Blazing Sky Divine Descendant’s ultimate pursuit was to reach the stature of their primordial ancestors.

Every Blazing Sky Divine Descendant who embarked on the Path to Epic used their first drop of source power to purify their bloodline without exception.

Compared to Titans, the Blazing Sky God Race pursued purity more vigorously. However, Titans had no such qualms, so when advancing to Epic, a Titan’s nature of power would undergo great changes from when they were initially born.

It might even lead to two Epic Titans having completely opposing forces, each able to counter the other. Of course, such cases were extremely rare; for most Epic Titans, their powers appeared unrelated.

After purifying their bloodline, the forces within a Blazing Sky God were very similar, almost as if cast from the same mold.

It was this difference in ideology that created the gap between Michaela and Muria. Michaela became stronger solely through talent and diligence, while Muria, besides these, also relied on external objects, accepting anything that could enhance his power without future consequences.

Compared to ordinary Titans, Muria, with the Dragon’s Bloodline, was particularly unrestrained in seeking strength, desiring whatever seemed advantageous.

This resulted in Muria’s current powers being mixed to a new extreme. Alternatively, this could be said in another way: his mixed attributes also meant his powers were comprehensive and complete, making it difficult for his enemies to find any power that could counter him.

However, nowadays, Muria preferred using the innate Titan and Dragon Power, which he wielded adeptly, delivering the strongest attacks against his enemies.

All these thoughts flashed through her mind, and after clarifying the reasons for the difference between her and Muria, Michaela came to terms with it; there was nothing to be conflicted about.

If Muria had once placed those benefits obtained before her and allowed her to choose whether to accept them or not, she would have chosen to reject. Specializing in one was enough, more did not necessarily mean better.

After the thought had passed, Michaela gripped the battle sword in her hand and stared at the Evil God in front of her. After withstanding the attack from her and her husband, this Evil God began to aggressively swing its thirteen tentacles towards them.

Not fighting back or cursing back was not a possibility with creatures like Evil Gods at all. No Evil God could be a pushover. The Desolate Evil God was wary because he wanted to avoid risks that could lead to his demise; it was a very wise decision to endure briefly to survive.

Clang–

In the face of the Evil God’s counterattack, behind Muria, the Nine Kings sang in unison, sending out a barrage of exceedingly sharp blades and sword qi sweeping forward, forming an ocean brimming with sharpness right before him.

Seeing such an attack, the Spiny Evil God quickly withdrew its tentacles, but several were too slow and got swept up by the sea of sharp qi, instantly minced at the tips, causing him intense pain that made those tentacles convulse uncontrollably.

Being an Epic existence did not mean that it felt no pain when injured; it simply had an extremely high tolerance for pain. Ordinary pain couldn’t affect its combat capabilities. However, when struck by an attack infused with the power of laws, it really hurt.

After a couple rounds of fighting, the Spiny Evil God realized its opponent was truly troublesome and not to be provoked. Although he hadn’t seen the couple’s subordinate army, he was confident they had one based on their condition.

“Wait a moment, we have absolutely no reason to fight.” When facing entities of similar strength, even an Evil God geared towards world destruction can instantly turn into a peace advocate. They won’t consider how to defeat their opponent but will rather think of ways to coexist peacefully.

Of course, when their own strength completely surpasses the other, or even if there’s a chance to obliterate the opponent, it’s another matter altogether.

“We can collaborate.”

“No need,” Muria declined cleanly. He had no interest in cooperating with a creature that casually slaughtered millions of living beings. Although the creatures of a different world were unrelated to him, he detested such behavior, the acts of destruction and devastation.

“You must be here to hunt down this coward hiding in his own mother world. I am his sworn enemy, and I can’t breach the defenses of his mother world to harm him. Alone, both of you also can’t break through the defenses, but together, the three of us might manage it, and there’s a fairly good chance we could breach his mother world.”

Even after being straightforwardly rejected by Muria, the Spiny Evil God didn’t give up and continued to try to persuade Muria and Michaela to ally with him with very convincing reasons.

If he successfully allied with these two beings, then he might be able to break the Desolate Evil God’s mother world and kill him. The gains from such an outcome, even if they were only one-third of the spoils, would be extremely profitable.

“It sounds tempting,” Muria advanced, propelling the sharp qi sea, pressing closer to the Spiny Evil God beside him. The Nine Kings vibrated, continuously expanding the scale of the qi sea,

“But, I refuse.”

“Why?” Hearing Muria immediately reject his proposal, the Spiny Evil God was somewhat agitated, unable to understand the choice Muria had made.

But by then, Muria no longer wanted to talk with this Evil God—fearing that talking too much might scare him off instead. Direct action was more straightforward.

Boom!

An epic battle erupted once again, and as Muria engaged with the Spiny Evil God, Michaela stood very obediently to the side, not interfering with the battle between Muria and the Evil God.

In such a situation, the Spiny Evil God didn’t dare to call upon his subordinate army for help, in no doubt that if he dared to summon his minions, the two beings in front of him would summon an even larger subordinate army.

Meanwhile, the Desolate Evil God hidden in his own mother world was overjoyed at this scenario, exactly what he had hoped for. Just now, the act of the Spiny Evil God initiating a conversation with these two second-generation beings and attempting to collaborate scared him quite a bit.

If these three beings really allied, then he figured he might have to say goodbye to the Void. Fortunately, the Spiny Evil God had tried to ally with two second-generation heirs.

“Madman!” Throughout the endless battle, the Spiny Evil God realized Muria’s combat power was not fixed but instead slowly climbed at a very stable rate as the battle continued, seemingly stimulating the potential within him.

Upon learning this, the Spiny Evil God made a prompt decision and immediately disengaged from the battle, no longer entangling with Muria. But just as he broke away from the fight, the Void in front of him was torn open by a pair of claws, and then a long-prepared breath of dragon fire fiercely struck him…
