King of Titans and Dragons
Chapter 1130 - 1130 1117 Unspeakable Unhearable

Chapter 1130: Chapter 1117: Unspeakable, Unhearable, Indescribable Chapter 1130: Chapter 1117: Unspeakable, Unhearable, Indescribable “By this time, the patrolling convoy should have returned, right? Let me check.” Atop a turret on the steel walls of Glory Base City, a gunner surveyed his surroundings through a scope.

As a defense soldier stationed within the base, most of the time, there was nothing much to do—an admittedly dreary position—except for rare occasions.

When Wild Beasts gathered and formed a Beast Tide assaulting the base, these soldiers had their moment of necessity. In such instances, what was typically a dull job turned into a perilous one, where a slight misstep could cost a life.

With such special cases being rare, happening only once in a few years, the position of a defense soldier was relatively sought-after. After all, staying inside the base city meant one couldn’t just freeload; something had to be done.

“What is that?” Bored and looking for the trace of the patrol troops, the gunner saw through his scope a scene he would never forget.

A massive beast, grim and majestic, spread its blood-red wings, large enough to shroud the sky, flying in from the distant horizon. Behind it, one by one, similar but slightly smaller beasts appeared.

These giant beasts exhibited what it meant to be powerful and forceful, every movement filled with intense visual impact, and the gunner watching through the scope experienced just that.

Upon seeing these dragons, the gunner was initially stunned, then hurriedly stumbled backward two steps, his face showing panic. Without hesitation, he immediately reached for the red button beside him.

Whoo———

A piercing alert sound rose within the base city, accompanied by a series of uncomfortable red warning lights flashing on.

“Report, I’ve detected an extremely powerful fleet of flying Wild Beasts approaching!”

Having almost no hesitation in triggering the alarm, the gunner immediately turned on the communicator to inform the base’s higher-ups of what he had just seen.

The gunner’s reaction was completely normal. In the world, aside from humans, there are Wild Beasts. The grim and majestic giant beasts before his eyes were clearly unrelated to their world. Hence, they must be Wild Beasts; this needed no further thought.

But what astounded the gunner next was the command he received from the base’s command center,

“Stay alert, no firing without orders.”

“Am I just supposed to watch?” The gunner asked incredulously, knowing that the laser gun before him would have nearly zero lethality against such massive flying Wild Beasts. To wait for his death seemed a bit too harsh.

“What you see are not Wild Beasts, they might be our allies, but we can’t confirm this yet, so please stay alert and remember, do not attack.”

“Hold on, allies?” The gunner stopped the operator who was conveying the orders, skeptical whether he had misheard, finding the words he heard absurd.

“Yes, but it’s still unconfirmed.”

After saying this, the operator didn’t wait for the gunner’s response, terminating the communication promptly as he had other gunners to notify—a necessity since they controlled the key points of firepower.

Clutching to a perplexingly absurd feeling, as if he were dreaming yet not fully awake, the soldier once again peered into the distant approaching group of dragons through the scope on his laser gun.

This time, he noticed an armored convoy on the ground stirring up a dust trail, the very patrol convoy he had initially sought to find, now following the group of dragons in the sky at nearly the same speed approaching the base.

“Not Wild Beasts?” The gunner recollected the operator’s words and started observing the dragons closely. Only then did he notice differences; these giant beasts didn’t resemble any Wild Beast form he memorized.

Either these were entirely new species of unknown, massive Wild Beasts, or as previously mentioned, they could be their allies.

Logically, he should be inclined to the former, but the armored troops below seemed to suggest the latter was more probable.

Because Wild Beasts were mortal enemies to humans, a meeting between the two generally meant a fight to the death; it was either them or us, usually resulting in human defeat.

However, the unknown giant beasts he saw, which were co-existing peacefully with the troops below, showed not the slightest sign of aggression.

Based on this, it seemed possible to dismiss the identity of these giant beasts as Wild Beasts, yet it couldn’t be completely ruled out. But then, the gunner observed a scene through the scope that utterly shattered his conventional understanding.

Because through his scope, he saw atop the head of the leading beast, adorned with armor-like crimson scales, stood a diminutive figure between its two horns.

“Fenrir?” The gunner expressed disbelief as he recognized the somewhat familiar silhouette.

Glorious Base City was neither too large nor too small, and its Divine Machine Users were few. Essentially, everyone knew them, especially the newly appointed ones, who made quite an impression.

“How could it be him? No, how could that kid stand in such a position?” The gunner found himself bewildered and doubtful of reality now.

“Howl!” Then, he grabbed the flesh of his thigh and viciously twisted it, and he couldn’t help but scream in pain, concluding, “I’m not dreaming.”

“But how could this be?” Once he ascertained that what was before his eyes was reality, the gunner became even more perplexed.

At that moment, not only was the gunner confused, but all the soldiers on duty atop the steel walls were also baffled, for these giant dragons were too big to miss unless one was blind.

Under the collective gaze of all the defending soldiers, their patrol unit entered the base city, followed by an unprecedented herd of enormous beasts, most of which stopped outside the base.

The most formidable among them, a giant beast clad in crimson scales, carried a Divine Machine User into the interior of the base. This incited immense panic among the base’s residents.

When facing an Ancient Red Dragon, humans devoid of extraordinary powers felt an overwhelming sense of insignificance deep within, a feeling that made them involuntarily want to prostrate before such an extraordinary creature.

The situation somewhat improved after the base sent out mentally robust soldiers to maintain order, and also after Muria had Auston suppress his imposing aura, but the panic was unabating.

At this time, not only were the base’s civilians caught up in panic, but the base’s higher-ups were equally frantic.

Unlike ordinary civilians, who could find a place to hide in their alarm, the base’s higher-ups had to come forward to welcome Muria riding atop the Ancient Red Dragon.

Whether they liked it or not, it was their duty, and they had to steel themselves for it.

“Don’t be nervous. After all, I grew up in this base, and you all know me quite well,” Muria said with a smile to the slightly tense high command in the meeting room, breaking the silence.

Upon hearing Muria’s words, a mixture of feelings appeared in the eyes of these base commanders. Through communication with the Divine Machine User involved in the patrol, they had gotten a rough understanding of the sudden incident.

They now realized that this seemingly underage youth, named Fenrir, was a terrifying entity on the same level as the Evil God seeking to destroy their world.

The persona before them was merely his disguise, not his real face.

After realizing this, the high command felt a chill run down their spines.

They remembered how, for decades, they had lived alongside a terrifying entity capable of annihilating them at any moment, and they had been completely oblivious until now when he chose to reveal his identity.

“How should we address you?” the base’s commander asked cautiously.

“Fenrir. You might as well use that name, as you’re probably used to it already.”

“Isn’t that problematic, Fenrir? Could you not reveal to us your true name?”

“You truly are ignorant enough to make me want to laugh. As mortals, you dare inquire about the true name of an epic being? Do you really wish for death?” Standing behind Muria, Auston, transformed into a red-haired robust man, scoffed at the frail, somewhat pitiful mortals before him.

“This sir, we don’t understand what you mean.” The base commander was confused and offended just by asking for a name.

“Insects, you haven’t yet grasped what you’re facing, have you?” Auston held his head high, a look of pride on his face,

“You must not utter his name, listen to his voice, or gaze upon his form. That is the being you face. His Majesty has deliberately suppressed his power to interact with you in such a lowly form. You must be grateful, and also know that there are things you shouldn’t ask. Many things are not for mortals to touch.”

“And if I did know Your Excellency’s name, what would be the consequence?” With defiance and curiosity, a high official asked.

“There’s a ninety-nine percent chance you’d die on the spot, and a one percent chance to become the lowest tier of His Majesty’s minions.”
