Chapter 1123 - 1123 1110 Survival and Evolution

Chapter 1123: Chapter 1110: Survival and Evolution Chapter 1123: Chapter 1110: Survival and Evolution “Such a feeble world,” a pair of Dazzling Golden Eyes opened within the Child’s heart, and Muria sensed the situation after his arrival in this world, only to feel an almost powerless suppressive force.

“I can release my true form,” Muria concluded. This was an unprecedentedly weakened world; such scant suppression indicated that this world was indeed on the verge of collapse.

For any world, an epic with hostile intent represents an incredibly powerful threat; the weaker the world, the greater the threat posed by the epic. Minor worlds are almost incapable of tolerating the presence of an epic.

The fact that this minor world had become so indicated that the Evil God’s erosion had almost reached its end stage, leading to this dire situation.

Even a minor world isn’t something an Evil God could destroy casually. To annihilate a world instantly with sheer force, one must hold power that far surpasses that of the world.

However, those beings who possessed such power seldom concerned themselves with minor worlds; they mostly sought higher worlds for greater benefits, where the returns were much higher.

And an ordinary Evil God intent on destroying a world would first dispatch its Minions to infiltrate, slaughtering the Creatures within to weaken the World Barrier’s defenses. Once the world’s defenses were sufficiently diminished, the Evil God would tear through the World Barrier, descending upon it to commence the act of destruction.

The world into which Muria had arrived was already severely eroded by an Evil God, a world ready for consumption in the eyes of such an entity.

“Let’s first observe the situation.” The golden eyes slowly closed. For the newly born Reincarnated Body, this world was full of danger, but for the original being, a world only inhabited by Evil God’s Followers was relatively safe, where nothing could harm him.

The World Barrier of this minor world had not yet shattered, indicating that the world was still resisting, still striving to survive in the Void. In such a scenario, Muria naturally wouldn’t descend in his true form to inflict further damage, or to provoke the world’s desperate resistance.

Roaming the Void, becoming stronger by destroying worlds and devouring World Remains, the Evil God is also an epic. Essentially, Muria and the Evil God were no different.

Without any preparation, an abrupt arrival meant Muria had a high probability of being seen by the dying world as an enemy, or even as the Evil God intent on its destruction.

Muria did not wish to provoke such a misunderstanding; he had no interest in taking the blame for that wayward Evil God. His main purpose in reincarnating this time was to make it clear to this world that he had come to be its savior.

A starving camel is still larger than a horse; even if this world has been eroded by the Evil God to the brink of collapse, the fact that it’s still resisting indicates it has some strength left. When Muria faces the Evil God in direct combat, the world might be able to lend a hand.

And the main battlefield for the fight has a very high chance of being within this world, or at the very least, around it.

Moreover, before the arrival of the Evil God, Muria needed to annihilate all the Evil God’s Followers in this world, a task he could not perform personally.

Given the degree to which the world was eroded, there was no chance that the number of Evil God’s Followers within it was small. The best strategy for Muria to completely eradicate them was to release his own Subordinate Army.

Whether his Subordinate Army would receive positive or negative effects upon appearing in this world depended on his actions to come.

Once again, a powerful Desolate Beast attacked the Human caravan advancing to the nearest Glorious Base City, and the Humans’ firepower could barely inflict even the slightest injury on the beast.

In such circumstances, a group from the caravan again stayed behind to hold off the beast while the now further diminished caravan continued on, or rather, fled.

Muria simply watched these tragic yet heroic events unfold before him, time and again, never intervening—because he needed to observe, and it wasn’t worth it.

His current Reincarnated Body held the highest status in the caravan, making him the most important person; his life was valued above all others.

No matter what thoughts the people of the caravan had about him, they had no choice but to risk their lives to protect him, because he could end their nomadic existence.

It wasn’t for any noble cause of Human survival, but merely for the selfish desire to improve their own living conditions that these people were fighting.

Muria understood this very clearly. The order of this world had been destroyed upon the appearance of the Evil God’s Followers. The Human race had not been extinguished, but their civilization had already collapsed; it was the end of morality.

In an apocalypse where resources were scarce, and danger lurked at every corner, the caravan survived solely because the remnant Humans sought to band together for warmth and to increase their chances of survival.

His own birth was a result of this as well. The arrival of a newborn was like a lottery for the caravan; a winning ticket could change their predicament.

Otherwise, there would be no need for a caravan that couldn’t even satisfy their basic needs to have a newborn, who could only consume resources without providing any help.

To be born into an apocalypse as a Child was undoubtedly very unfortunate, because only those infants with the right qualifications could survive, while most others were likely to be drowned by their own parents.

Because the current environment of the world was just too cruel, leaving no room for a normal Child to survive.

“Hey, the patrol troop that went out today has returned, a bit early at this point,” said a gunner stationed on a turret extending from a steel-cast city wall, who observed through the aiming scope of his laser gun an armored convoy kicking up billowing dust and expressed his surprise.

“There must’ve been some unexpected situation, let me take a look,” another gunner said, promptly using the scope on his weapon to peer at the convoy approaching the base.

“Oh, I see them, the patrol brought back some wild dogs.” The gunner clearly saw the odd ones out among the armored patrol units through the high-powered scope—several rusty trucks that had undergone many modifications.

“Wild dogs? Oh, I see them now. Looks like our base is about to gain another Divine Machine User,” the gunner immediately judged the situation he saw before him, having witnessed similar occurrences a few times before.

Humans, struggling to survive and wandering around the base city, could only approach the base under one condition. In all other cases, if they dared to disturb the defense and order of the base city, they stood a high chance of being killed on the spot.

“That’s not necessarily the case; maybe it’s like last time when they came to seek help.”

“If that were the case, the armored patrol would have driven them away, not brought them back.”

Muria, cradled in the arms of a woman with a fierce air about her, took in the sight of the metallic bastion before him. After being led on a three-day flight through the wilderness, he finally encountered a whiff of civilization in this world.

The light of civilization that this world had nurtured for who knows how many tens of thousands of years had not yet extinguished; some remnants were still resisting stubbornly.

“Is this the baby with special aptitude?”

A burly man dressed in a white military uniform approached the reception room. After a mere glance at the more than twenty ragged wanderers, his gaze fell on Muria.

“Yes, we have already conducted the tests,” replied the woman holding Muria, his mother, her eyes filled with irrepressible joy.

Arriving here meant the end of their nightmarish three-day escape, which had reduced their group by more than two-thirds.

“Conduct another test; we need confirmation,” demanded the authoritative man, waving his hand, and immediately, a female military officer came forward, intending to take Muria from his mother’s arms.

“But…” Muria’s mother, who had birthed his reincarnated body, wanted to say something, but ultimately sealed her lips under the scrutinizing gaze of the high-ranking officer from the base city and handed over her son to a woman she had never met before.

“Officer, this child possesses the aptitude to use a Divine Machine,” the female officer announced the test results quickly and returned to the reception room with Muria in her arms.

“Excellent, from today onward, you are all part of the Glorious Base City. Welcome to the team,” he said.

Upon hearing this news, the previously stern-faced man immediately revealed a smile and spoke the words that the more than twenty people— who had desperately escorted Muria here—had longed to hear.

“You may leave now; someone will soon arrange accommodations and food for you. Starting today, your days of wandering are over.”

“Great!” “Great!” The humans, including Muria’s mother, who had valued him more than their own lives, all left the reception room with smiling faces, having received what they wished for.

“Have I been sold?” Muria thought emotionlessly as he watched the scene unfold, an outcome he had anticipated long ago.

“You take care of this child and ensure he can start training as soon as possible.”

“Yes.”

“Fenrir, stand up; don’t lie on the bed.”

Just fed a dose of nutrient fluid, Muria emotionlessly stared at the foolish woman in front of him who was trying to teach him to walk, and slowly turned over, turning his back on her.

“Now is not the time for rest,” she said.

But Muria, small in form, was soon set upright by the woman and lifted from the bed by her hands under his armpits, encouraging him to practice walking.

If not for maintaining his current identity, Muria felt like telling her off: I am not an animal that can leap about and eat meat just hours after birth.

Of course, it didn’t take long for Muria to find that his body, merely days old, could surprisingly support him in an upright walk.
