Killed Me? Now I Have Your Power -

Chapter 92 – The First Step Toward Transcendence
Kaden looked at his evolution quest, surprise flickering inside his eyes and honestly, he had every right to be that way.
Because I don’t think you truly understand how dangerous, how absolutely insane this quest was.
He had been tasked with killing every beast, every single one, that lived in the outer zone and the middle zone of the Forest of Asterion. The same forest where he once fought the Dreadthorn Bear. The same forest where he provoked hundreds of monsters to hunt him down like prey.
Kaden stood still, eyes glued to the notification, mind already spiraling.
’I have to kill everything... even the lowest of the low. I have to track them all down... and eliminate them.’
’The outer zone is fine. Manageable. But the middle zone? That place is where I ran into a Master-ranked beast, where hundreds upon hundreds of monsters dwell—and most of them are at least Intermediate rank.’
For a brief moment, Kaden thought this quest might be unfair. Brutal.
Because even for a difficult evolution path, this one was on a different level entirely.
But then,
A smirk appeared on his face.
’That’s how anyone else would react. But me? I see it as the greatest opportunity to gain strength, experience, sharpen my instincts... and master the powers I’ve been given.’ Kaden thought, eyes lighting up with quiet excitement.
He had acquired many new skills and traits, powerful ones, but so far, he barely had time to deepen his mastery of them. So this quest... this hellish, monstrous task... was the perfect answer.
A perfect grind.
He smiled again, this time sincerely, pleased by what was to come.
Little Rory saw that smile and, with a soft flutter of her wings, landed gently on his head. She tilted her crow-like face to look down at him with big curious eyes.
"Why are you smiling, Master?" she asked in that innocent, melodic tone of hers.
"Because," Kaden said softly, not minding her comfortably sitting on his head like royalty, "I just got a very good evolution quest."
"Tell me! Tell me! Rory wants to help! I will be of great assistance, I promise!" she said, her excitement flaring as she flapped her wings erratically.
"Is help even allowed? It’s an evolution quest, so it should be personal, right?"
Rory immediately shut up, as she remembered how these quests usually worked.
"And how can you even help me?" Kaden asked again, and just like that, Rory’s joy fading a little, replaced with a sad puff of guilt.
"I’m still Intermediate Rank, Master... I never had type chance to take my evolution quest to step into Master rank," she said, her voice softer now, almost apologetic. Then, as if trying to prove her worth, "But I trained very hard! I practiced illusion and transformation magic a lot!"
Kaden gave a calm nod. He didn’t care about her rank. Not at all.
Still, he remained silent for a moment, wondering if there was a way to power up just a little before diving into the Forest.
But then, Rory interrupted again.
"Master! What’s your quest?" she asked, her head tilted curiously.
"I need to kill every single beast in both the outer and middle zones of the forest right next to the city," he answered without a trace of emotion, like he wasn’t just declaring war on a godforsaken ecosystem.
Rory blinked. Her entire face went blank. Her jaw almost dropped, and for a second, she wanted to scream about how utterly ridiculous that sounded. An Awakened rank being, tasked with wiping out two entire zones of monsters?
But she held it in.
Kaden was already deep in thought again.
’I’m not using Synthesis enough,’ he realized with a mental click.
A trait that could make him stronger with ease, and yet he had been neglecting it. Why?
He shook his head. No time for reflection now. His quest had already begun so every second mattered.
’I need to figure out what to synthesize...’ he asked himself. But the moment the thought crossed his mind, an answer arrived unbidden.
His extreme skills.
Each one of them a cheat by itself.
But what if...
What if he fused all of them into a single ability?
What kind of skill would that be?
What kind of power would be born from such a synthesis?
Would it be worthy of a title?
Kaden could hardly wait to find out.
He turned to Rory. "Sit on the bed for a while, okay?" he said gently, then closed his eyes and focused.
Synthesis.
The trait activated instantly.
He communicated his intention, to fuse all seven extreme skills into one superior, unique version.
The trait obeyed.
Kaden could feel the mystical pull as his extreme skills were lifted from their slots, converging together by some unseen force. They began to fuse, to twist and merge into each other with no resistance.
No pain.
It was seamless.
A few minutes later, it was done.
Kaden opened his eyes.
And in front of him, the notification panel from Death appeared.
[You have obtained a Unique Skill: Throne of Transcendence.]

Another chime.
[You have surpassed all base stats at the Awakened Rank.]

As knowledge of the skill flowed into his mind, Kaden couldn’t help but be impressed. Not just impressed but also thrilled.
This was only the first part of the skill.
He had chosen correctly.
And as if agreeing with that sentiment, The Will chimed again.
DING!
{Child of Blood, you have once again done something worthy.}

{Walk this glorious path.}
A pause.

{Congratulations, Child of Blood.}
