Chapter 98: The Manipulator Carries Out His Plan

Since the news of Daren’s disappearance, Ivan has been influencing Barney to rewrite his will. To have the entire Wyne family estate go to him. They had all trusted him and the story he had concocted.

Ivan deliberately made up a story where Daren escaped along with Axel, all so that they would target the Alpha and put him in prison. Because from the start he didn’t like the man either.

"Until now, there are still no clues about Daren. I think Axel hid him somewhere that’s hard to find. He really can’t be trusted," Ivan said to Barney as he told him that there were no more descendants of the Wyne family who could become his heirs later because he had already lost two sons.

Let him never come back that way I don’t have to kick him out in front of his mother," he reply, that he actually felt more relieved because he didn’t have to take care of Daren anymore.

Of course the Beta had done it on purpose to encourage Barney to give Marabella to him immediately. He even thought of creating a dangerous scenario where Barney would be in a terrible situation and he would immediately change his will so that when he died, someone could already replace him.

It was just that he still felt doubtful, especially after he made a scene by saying that Axel was the one who took Daren away.

He still brought up the matter of Aldrich’s death which let Ivan know that Barney would continue to hate Daren.

’Once it name is under Ivan Howard, I can change it to my real name one day and I’ll make sure that you won’t own a penny of this company or any of the assets you have. Because they are all mine.’

In public, Daren never appeared in the media again, leaving everyone confused about his whereabouts. His fans began to worry about his whereabouts, as did Zach who was looking for him.

"I also want to know where he is. I’m really worried about him because he hasn’t gotten my messages since a month ago. I sent her a gift, but he didn’t respond at all. I hope she’s okay," Zach told the media when they interviewed him.

Meanwhile, at the Mansion, Daren’s mother was still trying to find him. She didn’t care how much money would be spent, as long as she could find her son.

But men with black hair and brown eyes were very common and many had them. It wasn’t a very specific feature, and it made him doubt whether it was Axel or not.

"Did you take a picture of that man? Maybe if I look at his appearance from the outside, I can recognize him," Mike replied with a question to the man in front of him.

Unfortunately he hadn’t thought to take a photo of the man he thought was Axel. He did, however, give the address where he had last seen the man. Mike looked at the address and found that it was a convenience store quite far from the Mansion.

"District 28C? Isn’t this a place almost adjacent to Eastern Zondalia? The Northern border with the East is almost 4 hours away from here. It’s far enough away but a good place to hide Daren," muttered the ginger-haired butler.

He ordered the informant to keep watch around the convenience store in case the man he was referring to went there again. Mike wanted a clear picture of the man captured and sent to him.

Finished the discussion with the 3 informants Mike had hired. He let them go to do their work again. Meanwhile, he went to Daren’s room.

The room hadn’t changed since the man had left, and Mike had only made the bed without changing the sheets.

The man sat on the edge of Daren’s bed and picked up his pillow. He inhaled the pheromone scent that lingered on the pillow hoping that Daren would return soon.

"I don’t care if you chose Axel to be your Alpha. I’m just happy that you’re happy after everything that happened to you. But don’t leave like this because not seeing you hurts a lot. Especially when I don’t know if you’re okay or not," he said with eyes that were empty but portrayed a sadness and also loneliness without that Omega nearby.

He slowly lay down, and closed his eyes. Falling asleep on the bed of the Omega he loved but could not have.
