Chapter 46: It’s All Your Fault

Axel ran after the mysterious woman along the Studio. The woman dropped props around her to keep Axel from chasing her. But the man was so well-trained that he could pass through all the properties dropped by her.

Daren, who was chasing from behind, had a little trouble because the props were too big to pass through. But he still tried to catch up with the woman.

Until Axel finally caught up with her, he squeezed her arm and held her back from running away.

"You must be the culprit! You did this to all those clothes!" Axel said angrily while holding the woman against the wall.

"Let go of me! Let go of me, it hurts so much!" she cried out for help, making everyone in the studio turn to her and witness this.

"Let her go, don’t press her against the wall," Daren ordered and he checked the woman’s clothing pockets.

Sure enough, he found scissors and a bottle of oil inside. This was proof that the woman was the one who had done this heinous act.

"Why did you do this?" the Omega asked the woman.

She laughed in front of everyone and pointed at Daren.

"It’s all your own fault! You made our idol into a criminal! He should have remained at the top of his career but because of the news you spread, he’s no longer visible!" the woman shouted at the man.

"Idol? Who are you talking about?" asked Daren again.

She replied that the idol she was referring to was Noah Oliver. The famous actor who had tons of fans but had lost his career because of his sexual harassment case against Daren and several other Omegas.

Some of his fans hated him after learning about this, but fans who were still crazy about Noah, blamed Daren for this. Saying that Daren was the one who actually seduced Noah and made up a story like that to bring him down, then paid some Omegas to be his victims as well.

"Noah is so much better than you! You should have fallen from your career instead of him. He was so innocent as an angel but you, the devil, got him this badly punished!"

Of course, everyone knows that’s not true. There is plenty of evidence that Noah Oliver is a predator. But his diehard fans still can’t accept the fact.

One of the important staff from the magazine that Daren was shooting for, ordered that the woman be taken to the police station immediately and made to pay for the damage to the five designs of clothes that were supposed to be worn that day.

"Take her to the police station and make sure she stays there until she compensates for all the clothes she ruined!" the order went out to the security guards.

They took the woman away and went back to their work. The staff man approached Daren and apologized for what had happened.

"You can’t continue with today’s shoot, I’ll try to contact the other staff to check if the vandalized outfit has a spare for you to wear for the next shoot," he said.

Daren was thankful that he was not terminated by the magazine because what happened was a vandalism done by an outsider.

The day’s shoot was eventually postponed until further confirmation from the clothing designer.

He and Axel ended up leaving the studio earlier than scheduled.

While in the car, Daren kept silent thinking about what the woman had said earlier. He felt like it was all his own fault for trusting Noah.

"That case was a long time ago, but there are still people who make a big deal out of it," Axel said as he drove the car. He said it deliberately because he realized that his young master had been silent all along.

"Do you think what I did was a mistake?"

"Of course what you did was a mistake. You trusted an Alpha who clearly only intended to flirt. I know you don’t really realize it, but I warned you about this," the Bodyguard explained.

The Omega man nodded his head and still felt sad over the incident. He himself had not expected Noah to be so different.

But soon Axel spoke again. "This is not entirely your fault. In fact, this is also a bright spot and proof for everyone to be wary of an Alpha like him. Until finally he got the punishment he had to get. If you hadn’t made that mistake, there might be more victims today because of predators like him," he explained.

He says that it’s like a butterfly effect, a small mistake made by trusting Noah has a big effect on many Omega lives out there not to be victimized.

"You’re indirectly doing them a favor in the eyes of the victims and potential victims. You don’t have to feel guilty about that."

Daren smiled as soon as he heard it, for some reason he always felt better whenever Axel said things like that.

"You’re very good at comforting someone, aren’t you?"

"Does that sound like comforting to you? I’m just telling the truth, you were wrong but that mistake helped a lot of people. Don’t make it your mind to do the same thing again!" he said and pulled Daren’s nose.

He whimpered in pain as his nose was pulled, the man then removed Axel’s hand from his nose and rubbed it.

"My nose hurts like hell you know!" he snapped. "What if my nose turns red like a clown? How about it gets long like Pinocchio?"

Axel raised one eyebrow in surprise at Omega’s comment next to him. But he found it quite amusing.

"I’ll keep tugging on your nose so it swells up like Squidward," replied the Bodyguard.

"You’ve got to be kidding!"

The two of them talked to each other until they arrived at the mansion. Daren went straight to his room, where he saw a box on his desk.

"Who gave me a present?" he asked in surprise.

"I don’t know, aren’t there any business cards nearby?" the Alpha asked and checked around the box.

But there was no business card or anything to explain who the sender of the box was.

But Axel felt he smelled something strange about the box.

’It smells familiar, what could it be...’

Just as Daren decided to open the box, Axel stopped him and snatched the box out of the blond man’s hands.

"Why are you taking it away from me? It’s my present!" Daren tried to reach for his present again.

Axel raised his hand and forbade Daren to open it, but the stubborn Daren kept trying to grab the box from Axel’s hand and seemed to deliberately drop it.

The box opened and the contents inside spilled out due to the open lid. The Omega’s eyes widened in shock and he immediately felt nauseous when he saw the contents of the gift he found in his room.

"It’s true, the contents are dead animals and disgusting insects," Axel said.

He squinted his eyes sharply, still staring at the box.
