Chapter 199: The Fear Daren Feels

Since Daren had not gone to work during his pregnancy, he and Victor spent a lot of time together going on vacations. Viona suggested that they look for a place to refresh so Daren wouldn’t get bored at home so easily.

She knew her son got bored very quickly if he was constantly at home. Because he used to go everywhere with Ivan before, but now things were different so only Victor could accompany him to travel.

"Why don’t you guys try traveling around, going to places that can boost Daren’s mood?" asked Viona trying to buy a suggestion.

"I think she’s right, you might try going to a nice place to spend some time alone." Edgar added and that made Daren try to think about it.

Their idea wasn’t too bad, but he also had to think about Victor who didn’t like crowded places. And Daren’s nose was too sensitive to pick up many of the scents around him.

He might feel nauseous if he got too close to so many Alphas and Omegas gathered like a sea of people.

His mother chuckled when she heard that, saying that they should go somewhere much quieter. For example, staying at a cabin, or traveling to a nice place that would make them both feel good.

"There must be a good and suitable place for that. For example, you go to a city park. There you can have a picnic, relax and do many things on the green grass there."

Hearing that, Victor also thought of taking Daren away to at least keep him from thinking too much, especially since lately Daren had been dreading the thought of giving birth.

He was worried that it would hurt a lot, or that he wouldn’t even be able to do it. Daren knew too many dramas and novels where people gave birth and died when they finished giving birth to their children.

It became Daren’s overthinking, because he kept thinking about it when he shouldn’t be feeling so stressed in his current condition.

Because of this, Viona had indeed talked directly to Victor to take Daren on vacation so that he wouldn’t think too much about it.

"How about we go to the South? There’s a place there that I think would be a good place for us to go. You know that famous waterfall there? It looks like a great place to relax and enjoy the fresh air," Victor said, inviting his boyfriend to go on vacation there.

"Waterfall? That sounds interesting. There must be a river with very cool water below it, right? It would be fun to swim in that place." Daren looked more light and interested when he heard that.

"Right, there’s a river there that will definitely make you feel calmer. Do you want to go there?"

The man nodded his head, saying he wanted to enjoy the scenery coupled with swimming in the river. However, it would definitely be a big challenge for Victor to keep his wits about him, especially in these conditions.

"That’s a good idea. You should go there and there might be other interesting things you can find there," said Viona, hoping that her son would feel better and his mind would be distracted from thinking about bad things.

After agreeing, two days later they headed to South Zondalian for a vacation there. Boarding a plane, they arrived early and finally went to a lodge not far from the waterfall tour. It turned out to be in the neighborhood of the other rides, which made Victor think Daren would be happy to be there.

"What a nice room!" he exclaimed as he opened the door to one of the cabins, which turned out not to be very spacious, but it was nice enough to spend some time together.

Daren picked up the remote on the table and pressed the button to close the curtains of the large window in their room.

When the curtains closed, the room became very dark and he turned on the colorful lights in the room. His blue eyes sparkled as the room had changing lights.

For a moment it was blue, then it turned green, then red, and so on. He even went so far as to try out each of the light modes and it made him look very happy.

"You’re like a child who just discovered colorful lights like this and it makes you very happy. Then why are we on vacation so far, if you just buy that lamp you are satisfied," Victor said teasing his omega.

"But I love this vacation too! I’m just fascinated by the colorful lights. Can we have one for our room?" asked Daren hopefully.

He knew that their room always had the lights off because Victor couldn’t sleep without them. The idea, however, was approved by Victor as long as it made Daren happy.

"Yes, you can buy it, but don’t get too much shine because I don’t like it."

He smiled so brightly, while continuing to try the remote in his hand. The alpha could only sigh as he shook his head, watching how his omega behaved like a child when he was pregnant with their child.

’Well as long as he’s happy, just let him do whatever he likes,’ he thought at the time and lay down on the bed.

After trying all the buttons, he left the lights on in blue and lay in his lover’s arms.

Victor rubbed Daren’s pregnant belly, feeling their baby kick from within. Daren himself felt very comfortable when Victor’s large hand was on his belly as the pain when their son kicked from the inside, faded slightly when the hand was there.

"He’s very active and I think he might be too active and noisy like you." Victor tried to tease Daren to break the ice.

Daren chuckled at that, saying that he had copied and pasted himself to annoy Victor. Victor wouldn’t be able to run away from the two of them. Hearing that, he rolled his eyes and looked annoyed even though in his heart he was touched and pleased by that fact.

Because no matter how annoying Daren was, he was the Omega who had gotten him to where he was today.

"Vic," he called out.

"Hmn, what’s wrong?"

"Do you think I’ll be okay when I give birth? What if I can’t make it and then I die afterwards. Would... otherwise hate our son and blame him for my death?"
