Chapter 106: Press Conference, Will It Go Well?

Just as they were puzzling over who Viona would be in the villa with while they were leaving for the press conference, a man arrived and gave them hope of leaving.

"Edgar? What are you doing here? I thought you were going to stay with Barney," Viona said surprised to see her former butler there.

"I should be, but I can’t stay with him, madam. From the beginning, I was your butler and I never expected to be Master Barney’s butler," Edgar replied then pulled Viona’s hand and kissed the back of her hand.

They both stared at each other as if there was something between them. Not only Daren thought so, but also Axel and Mike.

’Wait... Mom and Mr. Edgar aren’t...’ he thought at that moment, but he tried to push his thoughts away.

"So Mr. Edgar chose to side with us? That’s good then. We do need one person in this matter and I believe you can be trusted," Daren said.

"What made you change your mind, dad?" asked Mike.

"I thought about choosing Madam because I never liked Master to begin with. I was forced to accept the position as his butler because Madam asked me to. I had no other choice until I finally followed everything he said," Edgar explained.

Especially when Barney continued to hurt Viona and Daren’s feelings, Edgar desperately wanted to talk about this, but he felt he had no place to do so.

He was just a butler, did he have the right to tell Barney that it was all wrong? Of course not.

"He won’t listen to me, he’ll keep doing bad things if no one dares to stand up to him."

"I know, but don’t worry, it’ll all be over soon. That’s why I’m taking you guys away from him so you don’t get carried away."

Daren stood up from his chair and turned to Axel and Mike.

"Alright, I’m ready to do it tomorrow. Since Mr. Edgar is here, he can accompany my mother," he said.

The butler nodded his head in agreement, he would take good care of the situation. As for Axel, this was probably outside of his job and he hoped it wouldn’t affect his reputation.

However, the important thing he emphasized was to protect his Omega. After all, Daren was his lover and he wouldn’t let him go easily.

"My head hurts just thinking about what that old man did. He always says that I’m a troublemaker. But in reality, he himself has created a much bigger problem. It even involves a lot of people and a lot of problems," the blonde Omega said as he lay on his bed.

Axel closed his bedroom door and locked it. He walked over to Daren, sat on the edge of his bed.

"Every problem has consequences and that’s what you have to accept. Whatever you do, it will affect many people, even those you don’t know," Axel explained.

He gazed at Daren’s body, and felt his Alpha instincts kick in. Staring with a hungry gaze, wanting that Omega right then and there. The last time they had made love had been at the resort and that had been almost half a year ago.

His hands roamed over Daren’s body, from his feet to his chest. Of course the man turned his head when his body was touched like that. You could tell by the look in his eyes that he wanted him badly.

"Vic? Ohh... W-wait, don’t do it now. We’ll do it tomorrow after the press conference, okay?"

He growled in annoyance, which made Daren feel a little scared but he wanted it too. Now that their relationship was known and he had no problem with the public knowing it too.

It was just that right now they still had something more important to do. That’s why Daren couldn’t do it on that day and asked Axel to be patient until tomorrow.

"I’ll keep your promise tomorrow, and I won’t hold myself back anymore."

As planned, the next day they went to a building used for press conferences where Daren would make his return to the public after disappearing for two months.

Naturally, many reporters came when he made the announcement and they had agreed not to answer more than five questions.

He sat down on a chair and watched as the reporters started taking pictures of him, the reporters were also preparing to ask him a lot of questions. Mike and Axel, meanwhile, stood right behind her as they stood guard around her.

"Hello, good morning everyone and thank you for attending this press conference. I have two things to say and maybe one of them will answer your questions. The first is about my disappearance in the public, even to the point where my family, especially my mother, searched for me and appeared in several media outlets," Daren began.

He explained that he had an accident and had to recover which he did not tell his family because he had to rest completely.

Because of this, he did not touch his phone and followed what the doctor said until he was fully recovered.

A lot of questions were asked, such as what kind of accident did Daren have? Where had he been during his recovery? And many other things. But he didn’t answer all of them, only a few that he could answer.

At that moment, Mike and Axel’s eyes continued to focus on their surroundings. Moreover, the camera flash that made the view become glare, made them have to be extra careful.

"Watch carefully, don’t let your guard down," Axel whispered to Mike who immediately responded with a nod.

"Enough of the questions, now I want to tell you something important and the centerpiece of this press conference," Daren continued.

He looked at the camera in front of him with a serious and stern gaze.

"My name is Daren Harry Wyne, I am the second son of the Wyne family. As of today, I am announcing that I am severing my family ties from the Wyne Family. So as of this moment, I am no longer a part of that family and I no longer have any connection to the Wyne Family should anything happen to them in the future."
