Chapter 871: Rapid Surgery Spectators

Chapter 871: Chapter 871: Rapid Surgery Spectators

The player was startled by Xu Huo’s speed but was also prepared, so he wasn’t pushed away by "Like Repels Like" immediately. As the "Hatch Opening" alert sounded, he took out a camera and aimed at Xu Huo, "Cheese!"

As is well known, one shouldn’t move during a photograph, but unfortunately, the prop didn’t manage to delay Xu Huo, as a barrier, condensed from the air, had already formed between them.

The effectiveness of a prop can be influenced by distance, time, and barriers, and this camera didn’t work. In an instant, Xu Huo had entered the cabin and, before leaving, he used "Standardized Weightlessness" on him.

The player uncontrollably floated off the ground, and just then the hatch closed and reopened. The female player wasn’t as gentle as Xu Huo; she took out something resembling a powder puff and slapped it, instantly covering a few meters around with white powder. The player inevitably inhaled some and immediately vomited fresh blood.

When Xu Huo was sent back to the ground by the cabin, the sky above Friendship Garden Plaza was just broadcasting his return. The female player was nowhere to be seen, while the male player, now coated in a layer of white ash, was pouring a "Potion" into his mouth, coughing and vomiting, yet it seemed he wasn’t going to die.

"Congratulations to guest number 313, he is the second person to complete the task and return today!" the host announced loudly, surrounded by shimmering golden special effects.

Xu Huo looked around and noticed that player number 91, who had caught the Golden-Backed Lizard, had also returned, but his teammates were gone.

"Old Yu, you are really impressive!" Xiao Xianglin came over enthusiastically, "I see that others haven’t had it as smooth as you!"

"Just lucky, the task I drew was not difficult," Xu Huo nodded towards player number 64.

The player also nodded in return.

Just then another cabin emerged from the ground, releasing You Si. The host announced he was the third person to complete the task and return, directly omitting the female player who had returned before him.

That female player came over, "Just now you stopped that damned thing for me, otherwise my return wouldn’t have been so smooth. The host didn’t mention me, probably because the production team eliminated me; I definitely don’t have a chance to pass now, but you go for it!"

Xu Huo, however, said, "That’s not necessarily true, the people chosen by the production team to settle in Sea World may not have the same requirements as the instance."

The previously disheartened female player suddenly looked surprised, "Right, just because I failed the program’s evaluation doesn’t necessarily mean I can’t pass!"

"I don’t think it’s that easy," Xiao Xianglin said. "Not to throw cold water on you, but I think the instance demands are definitely higher than this show."

"That’s true too," the female player smiled. "But it’s okay, if I fail, at least I won’t be so restricted in the next round. Good luck to you guys."

After she left, Xiao Xianglin quietly asked Xu Huo, "Any clue about the ’Pure Friendship’?"

Xu Huo shook his head, "How about you?"

"I’ve figured out a bit, not sure if it’s right," Xiao Xianglin was humble, "First is not to kill, ’hello to you and to me’ made it clear from the start, killing a ’friend’ won’t work, even if they aren’t expelled during the task, they definitely won’t make it in the final scoring."

"Secondly, I think it’s easier to gain friendship with ordinary people than with players, helping them complete tasks is easier than cooperating with players. Even if most people have dubious characters, surely there will be one or two reliable ones."

"Your point makes sense," Xu Huo agreed, then added, "Just don’t know to what extent it will be considered ’Pure Friendship’."

"We don’t have any other clues, so we might as well try," Xiao Xianglin said.

Another group of people walked to both sides of the large screen, one of them being Sha Jia.

His opponent, also a player, said through the screen, "Brother, I see the tasks are not easy, how about we choose the yellow ball and complete the task together? We can press the prop together by watching."

While speaking, a floor-length mirror flew out of his hands, perfectly positioned at the side of the large screen. To show his sincerity, he stood in front of the yellow ball first.

Sha Jia tilted his head slightly; in the last three seconds of the countdown, both touched the projection ball simultaneously. Unexpectedly, when the results were announced, Sha Jia had the yellow ball, but the other side had switched to black!

"What is going on!" Pu Donghai exclaimed immediately, "Could there be a mistake?"

"The program’s equipment certainly doesn’t make mistakes," the host laughed, "Player number 29 chose the black ball."

"You tampered with it!" Pu Donghai glared at player number 29, but the latter just laughed nonchalantly, waving his hand between the projection balls, quickly changing their colors, "Don’t blame me, my eyes have issues."

Sha Jia walked over and patted Pu Donghai on the shoulder, "No worries, I can come back alive."

Pu Donghai was still furious, "Even if you choose the black ball next round, it’s still random between two people; if it’s you again, you’ll have to go through two rounds of black ball tasks."

The tasks of the black ball were far more challenging than those for ordinary persons; the previous player who took a black ball task was thrown directly into a mating cluster of snakes and didn’t last half a minute before dying.

"That’s just bad luck for me," Sha Jia appeared calm, then turned to player number 29, "Friend, see you later."

"Threatening me? Talk about it if you come back alive," player number 29 scoffed.

"Ugh, our guest number 351 has drawn the task of surgery observation," the host dramatically gasped and warned the audience, "Friendly reminder, friends with poor psychological endurance, please do not force yourselves to watch. If you do watch, better prepare a vomit bag beforehand."

Sha Jia was transported away by the cabin; soon after, a surgery table appeared in the projection.

This was an already prepped surgery table, and the fully wrapped surgeon stood by with hands suspended in the air. The so-called surgery observation wasn’t actually having participants watch the surgery process but rather lying on the surgery table as the patient!

Sha Jia lay on the surgery table with his eyes closed, appearing unconscious, his hands, feet, and neck each trapped by a metal ring as wide as a palm.

"What’s going on... did you send someone unconscious in there?!" Pu Donghai below was both angry and anxious, hastily trying to pry open the floor, but before he could get results, the surgeon in the projection announced the start of the surgery.

However, Sha Jia on the surgery table seemed not to have completely lost consciousness; seeing his eyelids tremble, the surgeon added, "Increase the dosage of anesthesia."

The anesthetist picked up a syringe as thick as a wrist, about to inject it into his arm, when suddenly he paused, "Perhaps we should pray for the patient, hoping this surgery goes smoothly."

The other doctors also had no objections, clasped their hands together, and prayed very solemnly.

The person lying on the surgery table then opened his eyes; simultaneously, invisible blades seemed to fly through the air, completely decapitating the medical staff standing around.

Sha Jia, sent away by the cabin, returned to the plaza in less than five minutes.
