Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 810: Both Sides Without Results

Chapter 810: Chapter 810: Both Sides Without Results

"We want to know your relationship with this person." He Hui took out a photo and placed it on the table; the person in it was the pursuer who had fought with Xu Huo earlier.

"Didn’t your people make it clear?" Xu Huo raised his eyebrows.

They had inquired about the identity of the pursuer; the Holy Sword Society handbook had come from him.

"It’s not that we don’t trust you, but other than his companion, he only made contact with you two on the way." He Hui maintained a smile, "You didn’t just follow him for the prop, did you? It looks like you’ve had dealings with him before?"

Xu Huo couldn’t help but smile, "You didn’t get your hands on that murder weapon, or should I say, the thing you wanted."

"Those people went to the government building to steal something, but both the government and player organizations were prepared in advance. What they thought of, you probably don’t have, and what you want is likely on their person."

"Many casualties, but they didn’t get the item?"

Whether it was the props, potions, or other valuable items, if the government players managed to track them down here, it must be extremely important; otherwise, they wouldn’t go to such lengths to investigate.

The items players can carry with them wouldn’t be too large or difficult to transfer. The fact that they had found them showed that these people had no other leads after checking every possibility, and their plan had already failed.

"I can tell you the whole story." Xu Huo paused before saying: "Some of our companions died in a manner similar to those killed by that piece of paper."

"I see." He Hui nodded slightly, then took out a piece of paper from his pocket and placed it on the table. The content of their conversation just now automatically appeared on it. Then, he put down a pen, "Could I trouble you two to sign this document so I can have something to show when I return?"

Xu Huo’s expression grew colder.

"I know this might seem a bit presumptuous, but it ensures the authenticity of our conversation, and everyone can be at peace." He Hui said apologetically: "You’ve also seen the situation in Zone 009, giving trust lightly means we have to take on significant risks."

"Why should we, unrelated people, give in to risks that you’re taking?" Yan Jiayu retorted, then looked at the document, "Things from the game can’t be taken lightly, nor can signatures be given carelessly. Isn’t it common knowledge that we also take risks when we give trust too easily?"

"Are you relying on your numbers?"

He Hui smiled, "Just joking. Outside an instance, without certainty of a one-hit kill, who can detain a player?"

"Confirming details, that’s my job... Well, since it’s like this, I won’t disturb you two any longer."

After he finished speaking, he gathered his things and got up to leave, putting the gifts sent by other players by the door as he left.

A few minutes later, players who had been lying in wait near the hotel left.

Yan Jiayu looked out the window, "I have a feeling that even if we didn’t sign, they achieved their goal."

"Lie detection props come in all shapes and sizes, it’s not surprising." Xu Huo said: "And I was telling the truth."

"Let’s see what they brought." Yan Jiayu walked to the door and took out a small doll to scan around the box before opening it. Inside, there were quite a few potions and some specialties from Zone 009.

They had clearly investigated Xu Huo and her preferences, as most of the potions delivered were the sour and sweet flavors that Yan Jiayu liked.

In the well-monitored Zone 009, this was nothing unusual.

The two divided the potions equally.

On the following day, they didn’t go out, and the widespread mobilization of player organization members had an effect: the Capital Safe Zone, at least near the central area, wasn’t as chaotic as the day before.

The next morning, Xu Huo went to retrieve the Awakening Doll from the exhibition hall.

There was nobody to deal with the exhibition hall now. He first saw Lao Zhou guarding by the doll.

The other man was unsure upon seeing him, and it was a bit strange to see Xu Huo approach the doll.

However, Xu Huo didn’t touch the doll, just throwing a pebble at it.

Before long, a few people came out of the doll, including Chi Nan and her companions. They were the ones who had entered a random instance during the melee three days earlier.

Chi Nan first noticed Lao Zhou and quickly asked, "Where are Xiao Peng and the others?"

Lao Zhou looked somewhat grieved and shook his head.

Chi Nan clenched her fists tightly, "Those people deserve to die!"

They had emerged, but it seemed that other players remained in the instance. Xu Huo tried to take the doll away using a prop, but was unsuccessful.

After a moment’s hesitation, he retracted the piano wire.

"You’re here, too!" Chi Nan was surprised to see him and then said, "Thanks for your help this time."

Were it not for him bringing the random instance here, they would likely all have perished.

"He saved my life, too," Lao Zhou added.

Chi Nan clearly misunderstood something; her eyes lit up and she seemed intent on striking up a conversation, but at that moment, Yan Jiayu walked in from outside, "Someone’s followed us here."

Representatives from the government and player organizations who had negotiated with them had left, but Zone 009’s internal powers were complex. Some refrained from taking action, but that didn’t mean everyone would. With doubtless skepticism, some might not find it surprising to make a move against two Level D players.

Wasting no time entangling with them, Xu Huo planned to leave.

But before he reached the door, the Awakening Doll expelled two more people and leapt towards him, over the debris.

Xu Huo grabbed the doll’s collar with one hand, stowing it in his prop inventory, and then he and Yan Jiayu activated their tickets in quick succession.

They appeared at the train station; upon entering, the first thing they noticed was the thick scent of blood. The spacious station floor was drenched in blood, and several emaciated players squatted on the other side, voraciously feeding on their catch. The person they held was beyond recognition, and scattered on the ground were numerous shattered innards.

On hearing noises, the group turned their heads, chewing while staring at them with bulging eyeballs.

"So, you killed people but didn’t manage to grab any tickets?" Xu Huo asked.

The players’ eyes gleamed, entirely oblivious to his words. Although they still retained human forms, drool ran from their mouths at the sight of their own kind.

There was no saving them.

"It doesn’t matter if they’re Cannibal Players, once they start eating humans, they no longer count as normal people." Yan Jiayu picked up the Demon-Subduing Pestle, "Let’s put them to rest."

Before the train arrived, the two joined forces to deal with the few players who had lost their sanity. The process was rather violent, with a couple of them smashed beyond recognition by Yan Jiayu, but afterward, she respectfully covered the bodies with a white cloth.

After handling these, neither of them felt much like talking and quietly boarded the train.

There were many people on the train, and the atmosphere was pleasant, with some passengers chatting and laughing in the aisles. However, the former jovial mood cooled a bit upon seeing Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu, their clothes and shoes smeared with blood.

Yan Jiayu was the first to speak, "I’ll go to the restroom."

Xu Huo found a seat and sat down.

It wasn’t long before the train car regained its relaxed air, with a few young players gathering to play cards and a woman knitting wool in the back seat behind an old man with white hair leaning on a cane.
