Chapter 769 The Rules that Guests Need to Follow

Chapter 769: Chapter 769 The Rules that Guests Need to Follow

[This instance is Level D. As a guest, you are required to follow the rules below:]

[①A guest room may only accommodate two guests. Should the number fall short or exceed this limit, the occupants of that room will no longer be welcome guests.]

[②Once a guest has chosen a room, they are not allowed to switch. Randomly changing places will only make you an even less welcome guest.]

[③All guests must return to their rooms before 9 p.m. and may not leave until after 8 a.m. the following day. Those who stay outside will no longer be guests of the villa.]

[④From 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the next day, you may not enter any guest rooms other than the one you are staying in.]

[Welcome guests will have the chance to randomly become the undisclosed host of the villa for one day between 8 a.m. and 8 a.m. the following morning. The player who gains the status as host will have the following privileges:]

[①The right to enter any room in the villa.]

[②The right to go out at night.]

[③The right to kill one player at will.]

[Please note, a player serving as host must follow these rules:]

[①Maintain the cleanliness and order of the villa.]

[②Do not damage the existing structures.]

[③Do not leave the villa.]

[Players who breach the above rules will become unwelcome guests upon losing their host status the next day.]

[Mission: Become a qualified master of the villa.]

[Time limit: Unlimited.]

The electronic screen didn’t display for long, disappearing so quickly that some players let out low exclamations of surprise, and the artless ones openly said, "What the hell, I wasn’t finished reading that!"]

True or false, as the electronic screen vanished, the villa’s lights came back on. Moreover, when players checked the game panel, there were no game notifications, meaning that this game introduction was a one-time deal.

This was probably the first time they had encountered such a situation, making some players look uneasy. Not everyone has a photographic memory, and many had only read the rules from start to finish without remembering the details.

Of course, some quick-witted players had recorded the screen with props or other tools right away.

Now, even before the instance officially began, players might have to fight over the game introduction.

Of course, the distinction between "temporary host" and "guest" statuses in the game was also meant to incite conflict among the players.]

Xu Huo walked to the window and tried pushing it open, but it wouldn’t budge, and the doors were locked too, meaning that players were confined to the villa until the mission was accomplished.]

Other players also tried to see if they could open any of the villa’s doors or windows, but to no avail. One or two people attempted to use their props to attack the house, but their companions stopped them—someone still remembered the game’s rules for the temporary host: even they couldn’t damage the villa, so guests, of course, couldn’t either. If they became "unwelcome guests," they could lose the chance to become the temporary host, and naturally, they wouldn’t be able to complete the mission.]

Since the game rules wouldn’t be replayed, some players started to look for rooms.]

The villa had three floors, with only two bedrooms on the first floor. The main rooms were concentrated on the second and third floors. Players had to pair up two to a room, so players who had just met began temporarily pairing up with people they took a fancy to.]

There were six people in Xu Huo’s group and seven people in the raincoat man’s group. The villa already had nine people inside, totaling twenty-two people to be divided into eleven rooms.]

Several players quickly chose their rooms. Xu Huo was among them and selected one near the staircase. Notably, the villa’s staircase was in the middle of the floor, with four bedrooms on each side, not directly across from each other. Additionally, there were a study, a lounge, and a game room, totaling thirteen rooms on the second floor.]

"May I stay with you?" Lu Zhen followed over and asked.]

Xu Huo glanced at her, "Sure."]

Lu Zhen showed a grateful smile. Before Xu Huo closed the door, seven of the eight bedrooms on the second floor were taken, and the remaining people headed to the third floor.]

It was almost 9 p.m., and the players successively closed their room doors. The villa quickly fell into silence.]

Xu Huo’s silence was extremely oppressive, and after spending a while in the room, Lu Zhen became so nervous that she swallowed saliva. She washed her face and came out to ask if he wanted to freshen up.]

Lu Zhen, who had been soaked in the Heavy Rain for several days, looked rather pale, but now, after taking some Potion, she seemed much more normal, no longer like a ghost. She was actually a pretty girl. She instinctively kept her distance from Xu Huo, carefully navigating around him after freshening up.]

"You can choose your companion," Xu Huo said.]

Lu Zhen opened her mouth, "I didn’t know them before this."]

They were just trapped together in the woods, temporarily banding together against the risks. But now that they were in the game environment, it wasn’t clear whether that faint friendship would be of any use. Moreover, their Potions had been significantly depleted. It wouldn’t be a surprise if some were considering preying on others, with the exhausted ones likely the first targets.]

"So, how did you find this villa?" She paused before asking, "We were lost in the woods for several days. Was there some sort of mechanism?"]

"You just got lost, going in circles," Xu Huo realized this when he encountered the raincoat man and others, "It’s inconceivable how so many of you could get lost together."]

Lu Zhen’s face changed slightly, and she opened her mouth as if to say something, but then held it back.]

Xu Huo went to the bathroom.]

There was only one bed in the room when he came out, and Lu Zhen was still sitting up, not sleeping. He walked straight to the sofa, "You take the bed."]

Lu Zhen looked at him gratefully and quickly said, "You’re too kind..."

"So, I take the bed?"

The rest of her sentence was choked off, and Lu Zhen closed her mouth and sat on the edge of the bed.]

At 9 p.m., the lights in the villa went out again, and the sound of the Heavy Rain outside masked some small noises. It was pitch black in the room, and after about ten minutes, someone used a lighting tool inside the room.]

Light shone through the sealed glass windows from the outside.]

Lu Zhen also took out a lighting tool that worked like a night light, only brightening the space around the head of the bed. Nevertheless, there was finally a bit of light in the room.]

Xu Huo brought out something to eat, and soon, the sound of a hungry stomach could be heard. He tossed her a package of biscuits, "Are you a Level E Player?"]

Lu Zhen knew she couldn’t hide the truth and simply admitted, "Bad luck—just happened to run into someone stealing Agarwood... This instance is strange, using a type of expensive Agarwood as a medium. Wherever the Agarwood moves, people can be pulled into the instance."]

"But not a single ordinary person was brought in," Xu Huo added to the conversation.]

"Actually, most of those daring to move around outside now are players. Ordinary people, even those protesting, only do so within their own communities or under the supervision of the Player Organization. The chance of encountering a random instance is very slim."]
