Bai Wenxian’s corpse was quickly swallowed by the wax and vanished without a trace; as it disappeared, the kite string began to move.

The wax on the walls wasn’t melting particularly quickly, but the air in the room started to deteriorate, heat emanating from everywhere. Xu Huo and Jie Ling both donned protective suits.

The kite string wasn’t very practical because the corpse had quickly passed through the first room. Xu Huo made a hole in the wall, and as time went on, the string in his hand grew shorter and shorter.

"Is the exterior of this Wax Figure Gallery so large?" Jie Ling exclaimed in surprise, "When we came in, we measured the thickness difference between the inner and outer walls; it shouldn’t be this deep."

The Wax Figure Gallery was located within Museum City, and there shouldn’t be two venues within a single replica; hence, the "Homologous Locator" was unable to identify other props.

So, the question arose: how do you get out when trapped inside a prop?

As Xu Huo moved along, he checked the "Escaping from Death" odds, which were as low within the Wax Figure Gallery as they were in other places, including the Strange Tale Night Room.

The kite string finally got stuck on the floor of the spiritual hall. After Jie Ling confirmed that the prop was underground, Xu Huo drew his Crimson Sword and began to dig downwards through the floor.

As expected, besides the dirt, there was also a thick layer of wax beneath the floor and the routed lines, so Xu Huo poured the recently replenished Combustion Potion over it and set it ablaze.

The temperature inside the room climbed higher, and Jie Ling simply brought out tools to shovel out the melted wax, "Waiting for it to burn out, who knows how long that will take, it’s so hot in here, I bet the ventilation has been blocked, I don’t want to suffocate to death."

Xu Huo glanced at her, "Don’t worry, before that happens, you’ll probably already have been made into a wax figure..."

Xu Huo was in a similar situation. More and more wax figures were appearing, reattaching themselves if they were broken off, melting into liquid wax if they shattered.

After burning off the head of a wax figure, he sneered, "Still trying to maintain a human form, aren’t you a bit too fixated on appearances for a wax product?"

Just then, a large hole was melted in the layer of wax on the ground, and several wax-sealed heads were exposed, among them Bai Wenxian’s face had completely emerged, his ears and nose completely filled with wax, and wax dripped down from his eyes. The others didn’t fare much better; several of their skulls had been crushed, mixed together with fragments of metal and glass.

It was evident that these players had tried their best to protect themselves before they were sealed in wax, but, unfortunately, they hadn’t expected the Wax Figure Gallery to be so obsessed with creating lifelike wax figures that it crushed their skulls in the process.

Noticing that a wax figure beside him had moved, Xu Huo struck down on its shoulder, peeling it off the layer of wax. Soon after, the wax shell above its head cracked open, and Long Aotian, his shape deformed from being squeezed, leaped out of the cylindrical prop, looking up and laughing, "I knew it wouldn’t be so easy to kill me!"

Jie Ling rolled her eyes, "You should check our situation first!"

Long Aotian dodged urgently to evade a wax figure that was "embracing" him, and after quickly scanning the surroundings, he exclaimed, "How did it become such a ghastly mess!"

Xu Huo reeled in the kite string, "Head to the Strange Tale Room."

"Hold on! Xu Ruosi is right next to me!" Long Aotian leaped into the underground wax layer where the flames had already been extinguished, knocked at the spot he emerged from, and called out, "Xu Ruosi! If you’re still alive, give me a sign, and I’ll dig you out!"

"Thud!" A faint knocking sound came from a certain spot, Long Aotian grinned and produced a dagger, slashing from top to bottom. After peeling away the wax coating on the outside, there indeed was a layer of glass beneath it.

After the glass vanished, Xu Ruosi tumbled out, kneeling and gasping for air.

"A little later and you might have suffocated to death," Long Aotian said with a smile, "Don’t thank me, thank those two if you’re going to thank anyone."

"Stop dawdling, let’s move!" Jie Ling shouted.

The wax on the floor of this room was already three inches high!

Xu Ruosi glanced at the corpse of Bai Wenxian next to her, took out a saw-toothed tool and made a swipe. The wax layer, along with the entire room’s floor, was cut open with a slit, and from the edge of the crack, one could see that the entire space underneath the room was packed with corpses—some were decomposing, while others were surprisingly well-preserved.

In front of the Strange Tale Room, there was the least wax, so Xu Huo and Jie Ling rushed in without hesitation. Xu Ruosi, however, hesitated for a moment, "The Strange Tale Room will sink, and we might get buried if we go in!"

"There’s an exit above!" Jie Ling shouted, already following Xu Huo into the compartment through an opening at the top of the room.

After Xu and Long entered, the entire Wax Figure Gallery began to rise. Exiting from the compartment, they found themselves back in the lounge.

"How is it still this place!" Long Aotian exclaimed.

"The speed at which the wax is melting has slowed down," Jie Ling said to Xu Huo, "Your guess was indeed correct."

As Xu Ruosi and Long Aotian had been out of the loop, Jie Ling swiftly and simply explained the situation to them.

"You all encountered things from the strange tales? I thought I was the only unlucky one," Long Aotian shrugged, but quickly his focus shifted, "Why is it that only my story didn’t provide any clues or become real?"

No one paid him any mind, Xu Ruosi took out the clue she had obtained, "Mine is similar to Jie Ling’s and also related to the story I told."

"The one calling you from behind," Long Aotian leaned over to look, "What does that mean?"

"I don’t understand either," Xu Ruosi said, "At first, I thought it was literal, but then you saw what happened."

Xu Huo turned to Long Aotian, "And how were you sealed in wax?"

"Don’t remind me," Long Aotian scratched his head, "I just saw someone in the coffin who looked a lot like Xu Ruosi. I was just about to take a closer look when suddenly I was knocked out with a blunt object. If it weren’t for my quick reaction, I might have been buried underground forever as a stepping stone for others."

"But speaking of which, we’ve now found the bodies, so we’ve solved the mystery of the disappearances, haven’t we?"
