Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 285: Leading the Wolf into the Trap

Chapter 285: Chapter 285: Leading the Wolf into the Trap

Xu Huo, having lost the qualification to answer questions, was excluded by the game power, and in the blink of an eye, he was already out of the old castle, standing in the woods not far in front of the main entrance.

He did not leave the woods, but found a spot to hide.

As time passed, the number of players exiting the castle gradually increased. However, these people did not linger outside the castle, but plunged into the woods and scattered in different directions, including Brother Tu and the white-haired player.

They probably wanted to wait for their other companions, so after coming out, they did not leave immediately but chose a concealed spot. After waiting for a while, Brother Tu whispered a couple of words to the old man, and then the two left the castle.

Their speed was fast, and they vigilantly guarded against their surroundings as they moved, but they never glanced in Xu Huo’s direction, until their figures completely disappeared into the distance of the woods.

Xu Huo casually glanced at a number "8" floating among the trees and stepped out of the woods to return to the castle.

In the woods about seventy meters away from the castle, Brother Tu watched with a brooding gaze the person disappearing at the castle gate. "Yu Lao, is that the person?"

The white-haired player, Yu Lao, nodded, "Wearing a mask, that’s right. Judging by his fighting style, at best he’s a Level D Player, with an evolution rate of about 28%. However, he’s experienced and handles his items adeptly. He must have spent a long time in the copies, but his level never went up."

"That’s not unusual. To go from Level E to Level D requires at least three Rank-B Excellent Evaluations. The lower the copy evaluation, the more copies needed for leveling up. Over a long time, most players who successfully reach Level D have plenty of combat experience."

"The person must have his sights on us, I wonder if he has any relation to the man and woman we saw before."

"No matter the relation, since he’s come for us, it’s best to deal with him here," Brother Tu ran his tongue over his cheek, "so as not to delay our clearance."

"Could the twins and Cai Fang be dead already?" Yu Lao asked.

It was not strange for players in the copy to die at any time.

"Then let’s assume they’re dead," Brother Tu said coldly, "Let’s deal with this trouble first."

Xu Huo pretended to search around in the castle for a while but was soon discovered by Brother Tu and his companion. A marble shot through the corridor towards the back of his head. After dodging it, the marble rebounded from the front to mount a second attack.

Brother Tu chose a clever position for his attack, right before the corner of the corridor, blocking Xu Huo’s way forward, forcing him to retreat. Naturally, his escape route was also cut off.

Just as Xu Huo dodged the erratic marble and turned, he faced a kick flying at him from Brother Tu. He braced his arms at shoulder level to block it, but the impact sent him crashing through the stone wall and tumbling into the room, his mask hanging off his face!

"It’s you." Brother Tu’s eyes turned cold as a toy sword appeared in his hand and he slashed down at the room!

The toy sword, less than a meter long, grew with the wind. By the time it reached above Xu Huo’s head, it had extended over five meters. He lifted his sword to block, but was pressed down to his knees on the ground, and even the floor beneath him was smashed through.

"Boom!" Xu Huo fell down from the second floor, his peripheral vision catching the white-haired old man hiding not far away. He immediately grabbed the guitar strings and fled toward the window without touching the ground.

However, at that moment, a figure stepped ahead of him, cutting him off with a sword and sending him flying back, "You want to run after killing my people?"

Xu Huo’s expression darkened as he leaped onto the broken bridge behind him. Hindered by Yu Lao, he didn’t dare to land, so he could only move forward while holding the piano strings. However, the speed of moving along the strings was much slower compared to running. Soon, he was caught up by Brother Tu. When the enemy swung his sword, Xu Huo had to release the strings and drop down onto the bridge’s surface.

Before he could stabilize himself, the man about ten meters away rushed into his view, swords clashing. Pressed under the attack, Xu Huo was forced to retreat again and again.

Realizing Brother Tu’s considerable strength, Xu Huo suddenly stopped in his tracks and, with all his might, pushed the other man back; then he took the offensive and swung his sword to strike.

After a perfect evolution, his 20% evolution rate was at least equivalent to 30% of an ordinary Evolver. Players he encountered at the same level showed little difference in strength, but compared to the man before him, the gap seemed significant.

After Brother Tu was hit by several consecutive strikes, visible anger flared in him. He suddenly gripped his sword more tightly, meeting the Crimson Sword head-on without the slightest pause, knocking it away!

Xu Huo’s right arm went numb from the shock, his sword nearly flying from his grasp. His gaze quickly swept over the opponent’s back of the hand and wrist before settling on Brother Tu’s face, "Are you a high-level player?"

Brother Tu gave a scornful laugh, not responding to his question, and brandished his toy sword to attack again.

Without a word, Xu Huo pulled out another glove and, grabbing the piano strings, leaped over the broken bridge.

He hadn’t been mistaken before; when Brother Tu had exerted force, the patterns of the skin on the back of his hand had changed subtly, which meant that his strength likely originated from his hand, not the prop.

"It seems the restrictions on using your prop are not small," Brother Tu’s voice came from behind Xu Huo. Turning around, he found that the toy sword had grown long again and, caught midair, he couldn’t dodge in time. His arm, along with his back, were slashed, and the piano strings in his hand slackened.

"Yu Lao!" Brother Tu called out, and Yu Lao swiftly closed in. The two jumped over the broken bridge, attacking Xu Huo from both sides.

The flagstones underneath stirred subtly again. Xu Huo squinted his eyes, tore off his torn jacket to wrap around his hand, and once more grabbed the piano strings to ascend.

Seeing this, Yu Lao exchanged a look with Brother Tu, who swung his toy sword again, fiercely chopping at Xu Huo from a distance of about ten meters.

As the two attacked and one retreated, the trio maintained this dynamic until they reached the castle structure at the rear. Xu Huo sustained a few more wounds, but stubbornly refused to enter the castle. Brother Tu scoffed, "Trying to block my prop?"

As his words fell, he switched from sword to fist and smashed a heavy blow onto the shield, sending Xu Huo flying into the castle. At the same time, two marbles began flying wildly, taking advantage of the architecture.

Xu Huo had to fend off the unpredictable marbles, Brother Tu’s attacks, and also be wary of Yu Lao’s sneaky moves, so he could only flee desperately around the room.

The toy sword in Brother Tu’s hand did not maintain its elongated state, but instead gradually shortened with increased frequency of use. As the blade returned to its original size, Brother Tu grew somewhat impatient, his strikes becoming even faster.

With time, the toy sword, unable to lengthen again, was replaced by a black dagger. Though Xu Huo wielded a sword, he was slightly slower and could not gain much advantage, instead being driven steadily back.

"Bang!" Amid the struggle, his already injured right arm finally gave out, and the Crimson Sword flew from his hand, while the black dagger aimed straight for his throat!

This move seemed impossible for Xu Huo to dodge, but just as the blade came within inches, he thrust his right arm in front of his neck and caught the knife by the blade with his bare hand!
