Chapter 284: Chapter 284: New Gameplay of the Game Rules
"Don’t be so discouraged," Yan Jiayu patted his shoulder. "We have three people."
How could Tang Xiao accept this? "Going back to the ticket area, the little hats reset to zero. Even if we buy tickets to go in again, we have to start from scratch. How could I possibly play those games in my current state? Moreover, even if we go back now, the random Q&A game in Heifeng Valley must have ended. Missing this opportunity makes it even more difficult to clear... I’m not going to make it!"
Xu Huo pondered for a moment and then wrote: "After we buy tickets to go in again, you and Yan Jiayu should follow the guide map to every game point, just go to the game points, don’t bother with the Q&A games."
"Why do that?" Tang Xiao was puzzled.
Xu Huo gave a clear explanation, but Yan Jiayu had already understood; of their two guesses before, she believed that the amusement route was real.
"No problem, leave this to me," she wrote.
Xu Huo nodded, "Tang Xiao knows a lot of people; he can find a few trustworthy ones to help."
Of course, this wasn’t difficult, but Tang Xiao still wanted to be clear, "Do you know how to clear the game?"
"I have a rough idea," Xu Huo said calmly. "I have other things to do, so I can’t go with you."
"Can we really clear it?" Tang Xiao looked hesitant. Like Peng Ru, he harbored resentment after being sent back to the ticket area and punished. After all, it was Xu Huo who proposed going to the castle behind, but it wasn’t Xu Huo who coerced them or forced them to go. So, after Peng Ru left, he chose to stay. First, because his situation was worse, and compared to Peng Ru, he trusted Xu Huo a bit more. Second, he knew that under the current circumstances, he couldn’t take his anger out on Xu Huo.
If this trip could indeed lead to a way to clear the game, then the risk would be worth taking.
"I can’t guarantee it one hundred percent." Xu Huo looked at him. "But you can take a gamble. Rather than wasting day after day in the amusement park, you might as well try my method. Your current situation can’t change, only by clearing the game quickly can you save your life."
"You trust Xu Huo," Yan Jiayu said to him. "He’s very smart."
Tang Xiao’s gaze shifted back and forth between the two for a while before he gritted his teeth and said, "Fine, I’ll listen to you."
The three of them bought tickets and re-entered the amusement park. Once inside, Yan Jiayu and Tang Xiao went to find new companions, while Xu Huo headed straight for Heifeng Valley.
By then, it was almost dawn, but traveling under the cover of night helped avoid other players’ eyes, saving a lot of trouble.
When he arrived at Heifeng Valley, the Q&A game had not ended yet. He used the Silent Figurine to sneak into the castle and began searching from the first floor.
Of the six people he had encountered previously, the twins and the female player had already been killed by him. There was one dwarf, one old man left, and Brother Tu, who the six had considered their leader.
The three who had died did not have the Desert Pinwheel, so the items were most likely on Brother Tu, but he was probably also the strongest among the six. The other old man, though not young, was able to be included in the group, so either his combat abilities or personal experience was outstanding. Therefore, his first target was the dwarf player.
Then, under the cover of night, having silenced his footsteps, and moving from the blind spot of an average person’s line of sight, Xu Huo did not expend much effort before finding the dwarf player, who was eating with his back to the window.
"Pah! This tastes awful." The dwarf player spit out the chunk of meat from his mouth, then picked up a severed limb from the ground and stuffed it into his mouth.
The white-haired player was right beside him, frowning as he was about to say something when suddenly, a shadow darted in through the window. With an agile leap, he moved from his original position, and the chair where he had been sitting immediately shattered into pieces!
"Who’s there!" He bellowed as he charged forward, flinging a pair of scissors with a broken blade handle. The scissors spun half a circle in the room and struck towards the intruder, the cold light of the blade sweeping across the person’s face, only to reveal a pitch-black mask.
The white-haired player’s attention was diverted for a second by the swirling vortex on the mask, when the nimble dwarf player pounced forward, his fingers reaching for the intruder’s throat: "Stop playing ghost!"
The Cannibal Player had the advantage in terms of physical strength, his stamina and agility surpassed expectations, and he was much faster than Xu Huo had anticipated. Xu Huo parried the dwarf’s hand with his sword, but just as he lifted his foot, he forcefully retracted it in mid-air, pushed the attacker back with his blade, and quickly retreated two steps.
"You’re smarter than I thought," the dwarf sneered, pulling at his clothes to reveal a chest and arms covered in little caps, "Think before you strike, whether your fist can make it or not."
Xu Huo tilted his head to avoid the flying scissors from the white-haired player, hesitated between the two for a moment, then dove towards the dwarf player.
The dwarf player let out a shrill laugh, kicked over a cabinet behind him, and jumped up, his feet aiming for Xu Huo’s head as he bent forward in a tackling posture, "Your head is mine!"
Xu Huo narrowed his eyes; the opponent dared to expose his chest and abdomen, relying solely on the little caps attached to his body. Damaging them meant death, and even if Xu Huo attacked from below, it was very difficult for him to strike with either sword or fist.
But that was okay, he hadn’t planned to fight that way in the first place!
As they crossed paths, Xu Huo abruptly halted, straightened his body, retracted his long sword, and with a flick of his hands in mid-air, the "Non-Knotting Thread" looped around the dwarf player’s neck. Then he hoisted the dwarf up and flung him towards the white-haired player who was attacking from behind!
The two collided, and the white-haired player grabbed the dwarf’s leg, controlling the flying scissors to attack Xu Huo. However, his scissors weren’t fast, and with one hand on the thread and the other swinging the sword, Xu Huo tossed aside the scissors and jumped out the window.
The white-haired player was still holding onto the dwarf’s foot, certainly not about to let him drag the body away easily, but he underestimated the other’s strength, and both were pulled to the windowsill.
"Untie me..." The dwarf’s words were cut off as his head was neatly severed while dangling outside the window frame, leaving behind a bleeding corpse.
The white-haired player immediately let go and backed away, turning to flee, but before he could reach the door, a line wrapped around his neck, dragging him out a few steps. After creating some space with a forceful tug, he managed to break free into the hallway.
Xu Huo pursued him but felt that the white-haired player hadn’t gone far upon entering the corridor; instead, he was hiding just around the corner.
His expression shifted slightly as he exchanged his mask for glasses to inspect the corridor floor—the tiles were slightly uneven.
Upon prying one up with his sword, he discovered a little cap hidden beneath the tile.
As he leveraged the tile, the white-haired player swiftly left from around the corner.
Although Xu Huo could have chosen not to walk on the ground, following a player who could plant traps along the way was not without its risks. So, he threw a tile at the end of the hallway wall to confirm the sound attracted a live bear before retreating from the castle.
He didn’t leave, though; instead, he returned to the room where he had rested earlier, picked up a few stuffed Silent Figurines and stuffed them into his luggage. Meanwhile, the game of hide-and-seek had ended, and the players who hadn’t been caught began to answer questions.
