Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 266: The Toe-Stepping Game

Chapter 266: Chapter 266: The Toe-Stepping Game

After lightly stepping through, she did a backflip, creating some distance from Uncle Bear and said playfully, "Come and chase me."

With a roar, Uncle Bear pounded the ground, causing the jelly-like floor to vibrate intensely, shaking the room’s furnishings back and forth. It grabbed a chair nearby and hurled it towards Yan Jiayu, and when she dodged, it blocked her way, extending its sharp claws!

Yan Jiayu was unfazed. After nimbly avoiding the first attack, she summoned a Stone Stick and struck the bear’s claw!

While the blow wasn’t enough to cause serious damage, it was enough to make it recoil in pain; it withdrew its claw and gave it a vigorous shake before stomping on the ground several times.

The ground shook even more violently; not just for people, but even Uncle Bear itself was rocking back and forth.

"Be careful, the floor’s changing color," Xu Huo warned as he jumped onto a display cabinet to alert Yan Jiayu.

Yan Jiayu was about to land on the ground, but upon hearing his warning, she quickly changed directions and leaped onto an overturned chair. However, Uncle Bear swiped at her from behind, and, with no way to dodge, she inevitably landed on the ground.

But as soon as she touched down, she felt something was off. The jelly-like elasticity was still there, but now there was an additional layer of sticky, glue-like substance. She tried to lift her foot, but instead of moving freely, what came up looked like a stretchy imprint of her shoe edge. She tried to step back, only to find the stickiness tightening its grip; after a few steps, she could hardly lift her feet at all!

And at that moment, Uncle Bear came up laughing, raising its huge paw, as big as a human face, and attempting to stomp on her foot!

"Lift your foot!" Xu Huo yelled from the side, and Yan Jiayu, without hesitation, yanked up her right foot. The thread-like strings that had formed into a maltose-like shape under her foot snapped, and leveraging the momentum, she kicked away Uncle Bear’s paw and managed to climb onto the adjacent chair, severing the string under her left foot at the same time.

"That’s cheating! Cheating!" Uncle Bear roared angrily.

"You only said one person stepping on it three times; you never said others can’t help," Yan Jiayu retorted. "Only one step left before it’s my turn to step on you. Hurry up!"

Uncle Bear, fuming, flipped over the chairs, while Yan Jiayu had already removed the leather from under her feet and hopped onto the coffee table.

After failing to hit its target, Uncle Bear became even more irate. It pursued Yan Jiayu, overturning everything in the room and leaving scratch marks all over the walls.

With Uncle Bear on her heels, Yan Jiayu kept jumping around the room, too rushed to untangle the leather beneath her feet. She bounced from one spot to another, yelling at Xu Huo, "Give me another Sword!"

"Take off your shoes," Xu Huo certainly wanted to, but couldn’t find the right opportunity.

"It’s not like I don’t want to, but the laces are tied too tight!" Yan Jiayu pulled up her trouser leg, revealing that her shoes were also attached to cloth straps, tightly bound around her calves, with the actual laces being purely decorative.

Feeling as if his dignity was being affronted, Uncle Bear fixed his gaze on Xu Huo as well, grabbing chunks of jelly from the ground and hurling them at them both.

Xu Huo dodged the jelly and ran towards Yan Jiayu’s position, inadvertently sprinkling some sugar on the ground. While Uncle Bear was distracted by the paper-wrapped candy scattered on the floor, Xu Huo swept away the leather from Yan Jiayu’s feet, and with a shared glance, he passed her something from behind.

Yan Jiayu leaped out and, just right, stepped on the paw of Uncle Bear as it turned around.

"Three times, I win!" she exclaimed joyfully. However, Uncle Bear, enraged, swung down a heavy claw in response.

"You’re playing dirty," Yan Jiayu bent backward to dodge and, with a sideways flip, she landed on some broken wood, clenching the Stone Stick in anger, "How can you cheat in a game!"

Uncle Bear didn’t care about all that and still aimed to strike, but at that moment Xu Huo offered a jar of sugar, "You have to abide by the game rules. You’ve lost anyway, and hitting now is pointless. Why not just accept the outcome peacefully?"

The bear’s eyes followed the candy jar, and its expression softened for a moment, but the next second it put on a fierce look again, walked over, and threw two small hats to Xu Huo, "Alright, alright, off you go. I’m clocking out."

Xu Huo nodded to Yan Jiayu, set down the candy jar, and flipped out of the window of the cabin.

Yan Jiayu landed after him and couldn’t help but look back at the cottage, "I thought it didn’t like candy."

Xu Huo just smiled, "This bear is just like a rabbit."

Yan Jiayu didn’t understand, but Xu Huo didn’t continue and instead asked her, "Did you hurt your foot?"

Yan Jiayu was a bit embarrassed, "The kick I gave the bear broke my toe."

"But it’s nothing serious. I can still walk and run. I used to get injured often, my master used to say no pain no gain, and that a little rest is all it takes to recover."

After using the S-Version Perfect Evolution Agent, Xu Huo’s physical strength had undergone a comprehensive enhancement. His speed and stamina were stronger than those of other players with the same 20% evolution rate, not to mention his "Tireless Legs" quality that kept his stamina from imposing too many limits on his speed. Therefore, his accelerated running was not an issue, yet Yan Jiayu could keep up with him, which was probably not just due to evolution but also her past training.

It appeared that Yan Jiayu had systematically learned martial arts, judging from her running and combat methods.

"Moving with an injury is always inconvenient," he looked at her, "There’s a camping site set up by the amusement park nearby. We can stay there for the night and head to the third game point tomorrow."

Yan Jiayu wasn’t particularly insistent, reasoning that it wasn’t wise to travel after dark anyway.

It was already past four o’clock, but the sky in the amusement park was still bright. They were in no rush and took their time following the path.

Halfway, they encountered two players outside the Mirror Tent who wanted to team up with them.

The male player smiled a professional smile upon seeing Yan Jiayu, "We meet again. Are you headed to the third game point?"

"We just came from there. The third game point is closed already. Going there would be a wasted trip for you. Why not stay in the cabin in the mountains for the night?"

He pointed down a side path and added, "It’s safer there compared to the campsites set up by other players, though it is a bit expensive. Of course, you two don’t look like you lack money."

Yan Jiayu stared at him for a long time until his smile became somewhat unnatural, then asked, "Sir, have you had plastic surgery?"

The male player’s face fell instantly, and the female player on his arm scoffed, "Some people just can’t appreciate kindness. Why bother with these folks? We can get through on our own."

The male player’s face was cold, and though he didn’t speak, he didn’t leave either.

Yan Jiayu sighed and said, "My master says that those who smile with their lips but not their eyes either have had plastic surgery or harbor ill intentions. Choose one."

Their expressions changed slightly, and the female player immediately said, "If you don’t appreciate it, fine, we’re leaving!"

"Why leave so soon?" Yan Jiayu picked up a Stone Stick, "I smell blood on your breath."
