Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 1275 - 1276: Involving Innocent Bystanders

Chapter 1275: Chapter 1276: Involving Innocent Bystanders

"I thought about it too, but dying like this doesn’t seem worth it. If the polluted mineral vein is gone, wouldn’t that be a bargain for Kairo Field? After all, my primary target is his life." The swordsman snorted, then said, "That long-haired player’s level isn’t high, you should be able to influence him."

Whether or not I can influence him is another matter, since the Han family is one of the mine owners, the long-haired youth, as a descendant, must receive special care. There are quite a few players around him, besides, District 001 is full of various instruments, and almost every player is equipped with detection devices when deployed, some of which are certainly for spiritual power. It might not interfere with spiritual power, but it’s good for discovery.

To counter mental interference, taking a decisive step—simply leaving—would achieve great effect. If the Han family gets attacked, the main personnel thereof would definitely withdraw immediately; if people aren’t present, mental interference becomes useless.

Moreover, Flower City should also have players who have undergone spiritual super evolution, trying to get close to the long-haired youth to influence him is out of the question.

It’s the same as always, using such a roundabout method in an emergency state is worse than charging in with a bomb directly.

"Whether it works or not, you have to try." The swordsman said, "Don’t you want to deal with those brats?"

"Willing but unable," Xu Huo said blandly. He was more intrigued by the mineral vein, which, like a diamond, might be linked to the Diamond Key given by He Pu... could he have left not a specific item, but hinted at something?

No, Bai Kou came to District 001 earlier, it seems He Pu set up a fake target to lure her there, what he left behind should be a tangible item instead.

There’s probably no follow-up at the Game Government Base, Xu Huo plans to check out the directly governed areas tomorrow.

"Someone’s coming," the swordsman suddenly said.

Xu Huo also vaguely felt an intangible power envelope the hotel. He grabbed his coat, ready to leave, and said, "If you can’t hold out, head to the station, come back next time."

The swordsman smiled behind him, only speaking as he was opening the door, "The entrance to the mineral vein is right beneath the Crystal Flower."

Xu Huo quickly left the floor, simultaneously contacting the front desk to open a new room. A few seconds later, he was granted access to another room.

As he entered the room, numerous players had already gathered outside the Eternal Star Hotel, the streets around it were swiftly emptied and blockaded, with an enormous number of defensive instruments and defense props forming a dual-layer 360-degree barrier around the entire hotel.

Xu Huo noticed that Flower City didn’t seal the hotel with just one prop, but painstakingly used a "patchwork" method... he didn’t see Kairo Field or the young folks present at the club, but that didn’t mean they weren’t taking an escaped Rank-A player seriously.

He had his tickets ready.

Upstairs, the swordsman opened the window, addressing the masked man hovering in the distance, "You’re at the door, not coming in?"

"Dare not come in, Kairo will take at least an hour or two to gain authority, even if you find this place, you’ll be stuck waiting."

The players around Kairo Field exhibited excellent self-restraint, not reacting to his provocations, merely keeping their gaze on him.

Flower City’s players weren’t so composed; two hot-tempered players cursed, challenging the swordsman to come out and fight.

The swordsman raised his middle finger at them, "Do you take me for an idiot?"

This incited an even fiercer tirade from outside.

It’s rare to witness so many advanced players gathered to hurl insults at each other.

"Are you going to fight or not," a voice from the sidelines, unperturbed by the spectacle, jeered, "All you Rank-As and Rank-Bs, just throwing words, no class whatsoever!"

This riled up the Flower City players, some attempted to enter the hotel, only to be held back by their companions.

The masked player who had been watching the swordsman finally spoke, "Once authority is granted, all players within the Eternal Star Hotel become potential capture targets. For the convenience of both sides, unrelated personnel should refrain from getting involved."

This wasn’t a threat, but an announcement.

The players in the hotel who were thinking of sparking a fuse simmered down, and the pressure released by Flower City gradually calmed them—as in the silence before a battle, the noisy streets quieted down.

The larger the crowd, the more agitated they are, the likelier problems arise. The masked player didn’t give the swordsman that opportunity.

"Why doesn’t Kairo come?" The swordsman seemed unconcerned with his situation, instead angrily stating, "Doesn’t he feel even a shred of guilt?"

Being madly infatuated with a woman old enough to be his mother, who then threatens suicide, and subsequently facing her husband’s retaliation after her death... would disgrace anybody, let alone Kairo Field. Therefore, the masked player’s strategy was silence.

The swordsman was somewhat verbose, as evident from his previous attempt to "coerce" Xu Huo into working for him. During the stalemate without action, he started recounting his romance with his wife, taking jabs at Kairo Field along the way.

Xu Huo stood by the window, expressionless, listening to the old tales along with the players inside and outside the building.

After thirty minutes, everyone was left with just one thought: he could really talk.

Xu Huo, exiting the room, came across a few players who had lost patience and stepped out for a breather, including the fat player he’d encountered in the lobby earlier.

"You too needed to get out?" the fat player said, "Afraid they might actually start a fight and drag us in, yet unwilling to hear the lamenting words, I better find a safe place to hide."

"I’ve asked around, the most secure place in the hotel is the second-floor dining room, let’s go there."

Xu Huo promptly agreed, but as they reached the doorway, his expression suddenly changed. He used "Shelter 101" to shield in front and activated all his advanced defense props. Almost simultaneous with the barrier’s formation, a strong light accompanied by a shockwave erupted from the dining room’s center, blasting the shelter and him away together!

The hotel exploded.

This was no ordinary explosion, as even the hotel, as a venue prop, couldn’t contain its destructive force. Several layers of floors were blasted through, and players who hadn’t managed to flee to the station were unsurprisingly hurled out of the hotel; the ensuing fire erupted like a massive blaze from the ground, engulfing the entire building!

Amid the towering flames, players on Flower City’s side were caught in the crossfire. Without giving a chance to react, a swath of grey shadows swept across the entire blockade, pulling even the sky into it!

"Run!" the fat player, injured and fallen not far away, covered his bleeding arm with a hateful look, "These two sides are treating us like cannon fodder!"

Xu Huo, adequately protected with the shelter blocking head-on, was only slightly injured. When he looked up again, neither the masked player in the air nor the swordsman sitting by the hotel window were anywhere to be seen, and across a wall of flames, players inside and outside the hotel had begun clashing!
