Chapter 1271 - 1272: Grab the Other Person

Chapter 1271: Chapter 1272: Grab the Other Person

"Use Spatial Defense Artefacts or Venue Props!" a player reminded others, then shouted, "Taking pleasure in killing players, the people of Flower City are too rampant!"

Players might not interfere with the life and death of ordinary people, but to kill for fun in such a manner is intolerable to any sane person, especially since they are also the targets of such entertainment and slaughter!

After a brief chaos, some players attacked the barriers on the ground, while others soared into the air to kill the long-haired youth and his companions.

However, what greeted them first were the densely packed flying devices. The modified thermal weapons not only had extraordinary speed and destructive power, but some were also equipped with mini-missiles with tracking capabilities, no longer like the weapons of backward districts that could hardly harm Advanced Players.

A few bullets or even dozens might have limited power, but hundreds or thousands of bullets firing at them like a wall—not to mention the lethality, the sheer oppressive force was nerve-wracking, and the first batch of players to charge forward retreated in defeat.

Players don’t necessarily have to engage head-on; some chose to launch silent attacks. However, on the opposite side were members of the core family of Flower City’s power, always accompanied by players, not to mention Kairo Field, whose robot’s Defensive Barrier alone could block all player attacks, while fireworks flickered on and off, and the human heads on the streets rose and fell!

The increasingly dense fireworks soared into the sky, more and more people dying simultaneously. Coupled with the impenetrable defense circle, someone realized—these Flower City people had no intention of letting anyone go!

Today, everyone here, except for those from Flower City and players who could escape, was going to die!

"You dare to kill me, do you know who I am!" a young man shouted towards the top of the clubhouse under the protection of players, "If I die, Flower City won’t have an easy time!"

Before the Flower City people could respond, one of the players responsible for protecting him impatiently said, "Do you think Flower City will admit it? Just announce to the outside world that it’s a player attack. With so many outsiders, who knows where they died?"

The street was already stained red with blood, and the foreign players had not only failed to break through the defense circle by the clubhouse but couldn’t even destroy the small barriers on the street. The disparity in strength quickly cooled their fevered minds, the harsh reality filling them with despair.

Some players used tickets to leave.

"Please, save us!" a father cradled his innocent-faced child, kneeling in the blood and begging for help, crawling repeatedly towards players who landed or passed by nearby.

"I’m tired of seeing these rescue dramas." A young woman inside a nearby Defensive Barrier touched the gemstone on her ring with boredom, saying, "Who wants to see these useless people? I just want to see those outsider players’ heads turned into fireworks..."

Before she could finish, a black arc of light pierced through where her finger was, slicing off the beautiful gemstone on the ring, as well as the woman’s finger, hand, waist, and over a dozen Flower City people near her. As the Defensive Barrier disappeared, the bodies of over a dozen people, including the players responsible for protection, fell to the ground without exception!

This move stunned others. A large number of flying devices immediately scanned the area where the light arc appeared, but before any results could be produced, rows of flying devices burst into sparks, including those in front of the clubhouse.

Flower City players ghostly appeared on the blood-red streets, some evacuating Flower City people and others clearing away troublesome players. Meanwhile, a somewhat haggard middle-aged man sitting in front of a food shop, wiping his sword, was surrounded by over a dozen players.

"What’s happening?" A baby-faced person on the top floor of the clubhouse exclaimed in surprise, "Hadn’t we already checked in advance? There shouldn’t be any Rank-A Players present tonight!"

"Why rush, just watch," said the long-haired youth, "Rank-A Players are nothing."

Kairo, amidst the group, was uninterested in their conversation or the slaughter below, instead watching with interest the man surrounded by players.

Without needing the long-haired youth to give the order, the players exchanged glances and swiftly launched their attack on the man.

Though District 001 had many Advanced Players, not everyone was willing to act as bodyguards, thus most were Rank-B players, whereas the swordsman’s strength was obviously far beyond theirs. Casually, he released a giant water ball, slowing down the players approaching him. A sideways sweep of his sword then knocked back the players who came after, slicing through several buildings—his target was not these people in front but Kairo in the distance.

In the next second, he flickered a few times within the street and then appeared right in front of Kairo, bringing down a hefty sword strike!

The slash broke through the invisible robot’s Defensive Barrier, the powerful impact even knocking the long-haired youth and others beside them, but Kairo, directly under the sword, remained unmoved, not even a hair out of place. Meanwhile, the swordsman’s gaze hardened, disappearing from the spot only to reappear on a distant high-rise building.

Kairo adjusted his posture, raising his hand towards the swordsman’s direction. Suddenly, a giant meteor descended from the sky, carrying a massive shock wave, crashing towards where the man stood!

The high-rise couldn’t bear the pressure and began to crack, yet despite the great pressure, the swordsman didn’t flee from under the meteor. Instead, he leaped upward, splitting the meteor in half with a sword in mid-air.

Even split, the pieces were still immense compared to the city blocks. So before the fragments hit the ground, the swordsman vanished the sword from his hand, grasped towards the sky with both hands, and an invisible force crushed the two massive stones into thumb-sized pebbles!

In that moment’s lapse, a distorted burst of air hit him, blasting him several hundred meters through numerous high-rises, ultimately landing in one of the buildings.

But the attack didn’t end; the distorted air reappeared, piercing vertically down from the rooftop, its power so strong that the streets front and back were thoroughly cracked—this also triggered a chain reaction. As the fissure extended to a hundred meters, it suddenly expanded with great speed, covering the entire city center including nearly fifty streets, certainly including the central clubhouse.

Subsequently, the high-rise where the swordsman was collapsed, and the previously cracked ground started collapsing like dried brittle paper. The swordsman charged out of the crumbling building, laughing, "Kairo Field, it seems there are many who want you dead!"

Flower City wasn’t built on solid ground. Its underground was hollowed out and replaced with a metal structure, so a ground collapse meant the city would follow. Kairo Field calmly transferred to a flying device, instructing the players around him:

"Bring the other person out."
