Chapter 1247: Chapter 1248
(Wait for corrections) The fleeing player had originally been using props to move between floors, but unexpectedly stepped onto Shelter 101. This type of metallic prop from the game was impenetrable for him. Turning to the side, he saw Xu Huo aiming a crossbow arrow at him!
The crossbow arrow wasn’t a solid projectile but a semi-transparent shard of ice that, upon piercing the wall, quickly melted!
"You’re not the one I’m looking for." Xu Huo clarified his stance. However, this brief delay allowed the chasing player to descend from upstairs. Before he appeared fully, just as his feet showed up, he was slammed by a strange force, carving a deep groove into the ceiling and dragging him to the wall before finally halting.
A second later, two individuals and a stone lion landed on the same floor as Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu.
"Da Mao, attack!" Yan Jiayu ordered the stone lion forward while simultaneously slapping a muscle doll sticker onto her face. Instantly, her speed surged wildly, as fast as an elusive cannonball, slamming into the figure by the wall with a deafening boom!
The player clearly didn’t consider her reckless combat style a threat. With a slap to his shoulder, a blue glowing arc immediately materialized before him. Protected by the glowing arc, he didn’t spare Yan Jiayu a glance, focusing instead on the stone lion leisurely circling and jogging closer from the side.
But just as he prepared to deal with the stone lion, Yan Jiayu—essentially a human bomb—collided directly with him! Whether she had invisible defensive props on her wasn’t clear, but as her body hit the glowing arc, it sent the player crashing through the wall, leaving cracks across the arc!
"What!" he exclaimed in shock, only to be shoved abruptly against the outermost wall of the building. The barrier on the surface of the wall rebounded him back.
Unlike the flustered opponent, Yan Jiayu landed steadily in the room’s center. Wielding the Demon-Subduing Pestle, she unleashed chaotic strikes!
"Bang, bang, bang," echoed repeatedly as her blows cracked a shield prop. The player quickly evaded, briefly using his characteristics to impede Yan Jiayu’s speed before making a beeline for Xu Huo!
His true target was the governmental player who hadn’t yet managed to escape. However, before he reached halfway, a flash of cold light sliced toward him from the side!
The pursuing player dodged sideways and immediately flicked his sleeve, releasing dozens of cowhair needles.
As the air barrier couldn’t be deployed temporarily, Xu Huo directly used Shelter 101 as both a shield and a weapon, deploying it forward and then retracting it. Simultaneously, he activated "Extreme Fatigue" and "Progress Bar Disappearance."
The player immediately felt the effects of the props taking hold, but he pressed something inside his sleeve. The clothing he wore bristled like fish scales before flattening, its hues cycling back to normal. The weariness on his face had completely vanished!
Yan Jiayu and the stone lion joined the fray once again. A lazy Da Mao took a blow to his rear, prompting him to unleash all his fury onto the player. Biting and tearing viciously, he forced the target to retreat step by step.
"The vase’s function!" The pursuing player tossed a cushion to the ground. Amid the chaos, Da Mao’s foot slipped onto it, pinning one of his paws motionlessly to the floor.
Yet this proved to be futile. The relentless stone lion merely dug into the ground, taking the cushion along with chunks of floor. If he couldn’t free himself from the cushion outright, he’d just carry the flooring with him!
Da Mao was not easy to handle, and Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu were equally relentless. Yan Jiayu engaged in close quarters combat while Xu Huo assisted with props in the periphery, occasionally rushing up for an ambush himself. After three minutes of intense exchanges, both sides sustained injuries.
Looking up briefly, Xu Huo headed upstairs. When he reached the third floor, he sensed someone rapidly descending the building’s central area. Within a second, they entered the office area. Xu Huo positioned Shelter 101 directly below them!
The fleeing player, again attempting to maneuver between floors using props, unexpectedly stepped on Shelter 101. Unable to breach this metallic game asset, he glanced sideways to see Xu Huo aiming a crossbow arrow at him!
The crossbow arrow wasn’t a solid projectile but a semi-transparent shard of ice that quickly melted upon hitting the wall!
"You’re not the one I’m looking for." Xu Huo clarified. However, this brief delay allowed the pursuing player to descend from upstairs. Just as his feet emerged, a strange force slammed into him, carving a deep groove into the ceiling and dragging him to the wall before halting.
Two figures and a stone lion landed on the same floor as Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu in the next moment.
"Da Mao, attack!" Yan Jiayu commanded the stone lion to charge, while sticking a muscle doll sticker onto her face. Her speed surged instantly, turning her into a projectile-like force that slammed into the figure by the wall with explosive momentum!
The player didn’t seem to value her wild combat style. With a slap to his shoulder, a glowing blue arc materialized before him. Shielded by the arc, he disregarded Yan Jiayu entirely, instead focusing on the stone lion pacing around the side.
However, before he could free up his hands for the stone lion, Yan Jiayu—an explosive human torpedo—crashed directly into him! Whether she had unseen defensive props wasn’t clear, but she penetrated the glowing arc, forcing the player through a wall while leaving cracks in the arc!
"What!" he exclaimed in visible shock, being bounced back by another barrier sealing the outermost wall of the building.
While Yan Jiayu wasn’t as roughed up as him, she landed squarely in the room and swung the Demon-Subduing Pestle ferociously!
With loud smashing sounds, cracks began to form in his shield prop. The player retreated hastily, using his characteristics to momentarily slow Yan Jiayu before making his way toward Xu Huo!
Yan Jiayu and the stone lion quickly followed again. A lazy Da Mao received a smack to his rear, unleashing his fury to tear and bite at the player relentlessly, forcing him into retreat.
"The vase’s function!" The player dropped a cushion onto the ground. Amid the chaos, Da Mao’s foot slipped onto it, immobilizing one of his paws.
However, this was hardly effective. The stone lion, unwavering in its violence, dug right into the floor to carry the cushion away with chunks of flooring. Unable to escape, it simply chose to take the structure along.
Da Mao was tough to deal with, while Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu refused to be outdone. Yan Jiayu fought head-on while Xu Huo provided prop support, throwing in surprise attacks when possible. After a three-minute skirmish, both sides sustained injuries.
Following a brief rest, the group resumed their journey. For half a day, they encountered no significant obstacles, aside from a few stray cats swiftly taken out by Jiang Zifeng, full of energy.
The only issue was the increasingly frigid temperature.
Though it wasn’t unbearable, things took a turn as they passed a maze wall blooming with flowers. Ahead, a grand door appeared, and the maze announced:
"Congratulations to all players on reaching the stop before the final destination. Please check your first card to confirm your faction."
