Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 1192: The Benefits Are Substantial

Chapter 1192: Chapter 1192: The Benefits Are Substantial

The remaining two wanted to flee, but Xu Huo had already sealed the door in advance using the Secant Line. Rank A Props weren’t so easily destroyed, so none of the various props they attempted to use earlier had any effect. When they resorted to ramming their bodies against it, the result was predictable.

Four men, and three died in the blink of an eye. The only one left had lost an arm and didn’t dare move again. He stood still and pleaded earnestly, "Please don’t kill me! I’ll give you all my props!"

"Does that sentence sound ridiculous to you?" Xu Huo sneered at him. "If I kill you, wouldn’t your props already belong to me?"

"No, no..." Eleven hurriedly said, "We also have our hideout, with loads of gold and treasures. If you spare me, I can lead you there!"

But Xu Huo wasn’t particularly interested. Smiling faintly, he said, "Compared to gold and treasures, I think your life holds more value."

Before Eleven could even react, his head slid clean off his neck.

The train car fell silent. Every surviving player maintained their current posture, not daring to move. No one even attempted to use props to test if there was a Secant Line nearby—they weren’t as foolish as those wanted criminals. Instantly killing a Rank-C Player without them having any chance to fight back? Was this something a typical Rank-C Player could do?

If a Rank-C Player couldn’t manage, then Level-D Players had better not try to flex.

Not long after, the commotion in the adjacent train cars quieted. Only then did Xu Huo retrieve his prop and settle into a new seat.

Ye Bingxin didn’t dare sit with him anymore and chose a table elsewhere.

The Hat Player intentionally sat across from her, saying, "This is your so-called ’life-and-death crossroads’?"

Ye Bingxin retorted irritably, "How about you go ask the guy who died in the transition car if he thinks my prediction was accurate?"

The Hat Player had no response to that.

Accidents on the train were commonplace; if any train journey were completely smooth, it would feel suspicious instead. Thus, even when encountering Advanced Players hijacking trains, passengers quickly reverted to their normal routines after surviving the danger.

By the next morning, when the Hat Player checked his props, he found the outer walls of their train car covered with blood streaks left by Aliens—densely packed and deeply horrifying.

The front and rear cars were no better. Only two panels of the train remained intact, and it was unclear if any players had survived. The other half of the tattooed players’ group hadn’t reunited with the others in Car 2, likely killed by players in other train cars.

For the remainder of the journey, no players caused trouble again. It seemed their energy was depleted. The only point of interest was Ye Bingxin’s fortune-telling; her skills gained recognition, even prompting the stoic middle-aged man and the Buzz Cut Player to each draw a card.

As she foretold, over two-thirds of the cards drawn indicated bad outcomes. The remaining players weren’t in great shape either. While Ye Bingxin sincerely confessed to the others that she didn’t have the power to defy fate—and that if she did, she’d change her own fate first—Xu Huo arrived at his stop.

This time, he disembarked not at the Base City, but at a medium-sized city half a day’s train ride away from the Base City. Unexpectedly, the Hat Player from his train compartment got off with him.

"What a coincidence," the Hat Player greeted him cheerfully, "Looks like out of the three life-and-death crossroads I’ve faced, two revolve around you! If I were to...

Xu Huo hailed a driverless taxi and stepped inside. The Hat Player quickly caught up, saying, "Which instance are you heading for? Let’s go together!"

Xu Huo waved goodbye dismissively.

He set the taxi’s destination as the Rose Castle. Based on the surroundings, the chaos stirred by the Guile Sound Knights and the Holy Sword Society last time had finally subsided. Some areas didn’t even show signs of past battles, and the buildings had been restored to be even more beautiful than before.

His communicator had several messages from the Orbital Supply Department, all task requests sent by Captain Shi Youzhi. Since Xu Huo was no longer in Zone 011, he hadn’t responded—which evidently meant he wouldn’t be participating in the missions.

Other than that, the only person who contacted him separately was Wan Tingfang, who was similarly a newcomer and mainly checked in to ensure his safety.

Xu Huo did a quick search for follow-ups on the Holy Sword Society’s attack. After successfully duping Ashis Verna and the new nobles last time, Lady Lily had propelled the Mi Lai’er Family back into prominence. To compensate for the family’s losses, the nobles reached compromises, not only granting Leyton Mi Lai’er a higher-ranking title but also providing the siblings with ample political resources. Originally aligned with the Duke, Lady Lily now had legitimate access to the political scene, becoming a pivotal figure among the nobles. Concurrently, the Mi Lai’er Family recruited numerous players and supported several small-noble households, strategically forming alliances mainly via marriages. Leyton Mi Lai’er had quickly married five wives, causing quite a stir and eliciting plenty of jokes.

Of course, jokes aside, the benefits they reaped were very real.

Meanwhile, Zone 011 had tightened its restrictions on players for a while, primarily aimed at rooting out members of the Holy Sword Society. Some individuals were indeed apprehended, though whether the names they released were authentic remained unknown.

Neither Director San Yang nor Wan Tingfang appeared on the list.

Overall, the incident didn’t leave a lasting impact on Zone 011. Once the Holy Sword Society purge calmed down, everyday citizens returned to their usual routines.

Xu Huo soon arrived at the Base City.

Back at the Rose Castle, he was met not by Mr. Dong but by the Girl in the Painting dressed in a maid outfit. She seemed to have been waiting for him for a while, her expression lively as she watched him approach, then gathered her skirt and curtsied with a perfectly practiced smile.

Xu Huo handed his jacket to Mr. Dong, who followed from behind, and asked, "What’s her new obsession now?"

"Role-playing," Mr. Dong replied, gesturing to his monocle and then pointing to the two children flying kites in the garden.

Two children wearing heavy princess dresses.

Xu Huo raised his hand slightly, and Xiao Yuan, upon seeing him, instantly and excitedly dropped the kite and her playmate, running toward the living room. Following behind expressionless was Tan Qi, completely unbothered by the embarrassment of running while hoisting up her skirt.

Observing the sweat on their faces, Xu Huo commented, "If it’s hot, don’t wear such thick clothes."

"Sister Li Chun told us to wear them," Xiao Yuan responded immediately. "She’ll pinch our cheeks if we don’t."

Caught off guard, the Girl in the Painting immediately sank to her knees and grabbed Xu Huo’s pants.

Xu Huo coldly brushed her hand away and said ruthlessly, "Halve your pocket money this month."

The Girl in the Painting pouted and mustered up two tears, but Mr. Dong added mercilessly from the side, "Miss Li Chun has already overspent her pocket money for this month."

"Then halve it for next month and the month after that as well," Xu Huo decided, adding, "The deducted amount will be used as an education fund to hire a teacher for them."

Mr. Dong quickly produced a list, saying, "Regular teachers can’t manage Miss Li Chun. The names on this list are players willing to serve as instructors."

Xu Huo glanced at him, surprised, "You seem eager."

Removing his monocle, Mr. Dong succinctly replied, "Lady Lily has already sent three invitations seeking your attention."
