Chapter 1174: The Most Spectacular Magic

Chapter 1174: Chapter 1174: The Most Spectacular Magic

The successive spatial barriers shielded the Magician from "Everything Wants to Slice," while he turned around and snapped his fingers, conjuring dozens of blade-like constructs formed by spatial rays.

The blades forged from spatial rays resembled fragmented spatial barriers, yet these blades were far tougher than ordinary defensive barriers—so resilient, in fact, that they could pierce through Defense Props unscathed!

Xu Huo donned the "Agile Mechanical Suit" once more; this protective gear was capable of withstanding the spatial ray blades, although the joints remained vulnerable—an issue he deemed negligible.

Opening three gates mid-air, Xu Huo transferred himself five hundred meters away, where he activated the Library Tower upon encountering colorful flying paper strips.

The chaotic swarm of colorful paper strips and the Library Tower’s perpetually ascending and descending spiral staircases clashed like two vanguards of opposing Spiritual Worlds. Through cycles of gain and loss, either the spiral staircases would engulf the paper strips en masse, or the paper strips would enshroud the staircases, causing them to gradually disintegrate. Consequently, within this Chaotic Space, both sides’ Psychic Power experienced varying degrees of growth—a benefit perhaps offered by this unique dimension.

But not all benefits come without a cost.

The immense consumption of Psychic Power burdened both opponents, prompting them to shrink their Spiritual Worlds after a minute of furious initial power struggles. The Magician refrained from deploying his Pyramid, and Xu Huo held back his chessboard—both retained their ultimate trump cards.

Their combat range had converged within the Cubic Space’s boundaries. As the battle progressed, they had swapped out several Ruins Spaces, inadvertently dragging along some spectating Players who hadn’t had time to escape.

For those Players trapped in the Cubic Space, the dizzying display of Psychic Power clashes was all they could witness; they could neither see the spatial rays nor perceive any spatial distortions around them. It was only when Xu Huo and the Magician abruptly vanished with a portion of the crowd during successive battlefield switches that the Players grasped something was amiss... During this interval, Xu Huo and the Magician had swapped several battlefields.

Their Prop consumption surged immensely, yet in this seamless exchange of blows, neither had utilized any Super Evolutionary Power. Between sparing use of Props, the Magician began contracting his Spiritual World.

Where the Magician excelled in Spiritual Evolution over Xu Huo lay in his ability to wield Spiritual Embodiments as genuine weapons—something Xu Huo could currently achieve only through his Shadow Personality. Thus, while reclaiming his power, Xu Huo deployed every Defense Prop at his disposal.

However, something unexpected occurred as the flying paper strips gradually folded together, forming a vibrant curtain ahead of him. As the curtains parted sideways, a bright red stage was unveiled. Wearing his Moth-Eye Mask, the Magician stood atop it, waving his Magic Wand to drag Xu Huo below the stage!

Xu Huo was forcibly seated.

"As a token for today’s sole fortunate audience, I will perform my finest magic—Myriad Selves!"

"Clap! Clap! Clap!"

With three sharp claps of applause, Xu Huo burst into countless flying paper strips. Each strip bore fragments of his body and danced freely—some soaring to the suspended lights above to survey the stage from a high vantage point, others drifting down to the ground to gaze at the Magician, who seemed immense from this angle as he paced across the stage. In that instant, Xu Huo’s perspective exploded into a myriad—the countless paper strips each representing a different viewpoint. These alternating flashes captured every corner of the stage like an accelerated film reel, the overwhelming images leaving no reprieve!

Unable to visually track the swiftly shifting scenes, Xu Huo closed his eyes.

From the moment he shut his eyes, some of the colorful paper strips began darkening, losing vitality as they despairingly fell to the ground.

Standing in the stage’s center, the Magician watched this spectacle with a faint smile. Waving his Magic Wand to accelerate the fluttering paper strips, he simultaneously removed his top hat and tossed it forward:

The paper strips that did not belong to Xu Huo gathered into a small vortex before the top hat. As the top hat passed through the vortex, the stage lights grew brighter.

Over a short span, the top hat passed through the paper vortex three times. Each passage caused the stage lights to brighten further, while the colors of Xu Huo’s paper strips grew increasingly dim—this was the shifting strength of Psychic Power. The Magician had repeatedly dismantled the layered constructs of the Library Tower outside, while Xu Huo remained confined within the paper strips, yet to reclaim himself.

Though the Magic Stage was enveloped within Xu Huo’s Spiritual World, the Library Tower, bereft of its core energy, seemed incapable of exerting significant pressure on the stage.

Noticing the surge in black paper strips scattered across the stage, the Magician waved his Magic Wand, halting the materialized items along with Xu Huo. He spoke: "Give me the Magician’s Gift, and I’ll let you go."

Xu Huo, evidently defiant, manifested two paper strips before the Magician, each adorned with one eye. Amber-colored irises shimmered brightly, untainted by the endless perspectives crafted by the Magician.

The Magician twirled his Magic Wand, and after several seconds of stillness, the paper strips resumed their frenzied flight.

Nevertheless, as more and more black paper strips descended, a narrow pathway of fragmented paper strips emerged. It stretched from the edge of the stage to the Magician’s feet.

At that moment, the seemingly weightless paper strips gained substance, converging into a shadowy black figure. Its tip materialized into an arm, silently resting on the Magician’s pant leg.

It was then that the Magician realized a third party was present within his Spiritual World. His instincts drove him to retreat into a Mental Portal immediately, but what he couldn’t have anticipated was that the black shadow arm intercepted him at the portal’s entrance. Blocking his path, its five elongated fingers twisted like ropes, stabbing toward him, even managing to pierce the portal and split his top hat—one of his materialized items—in half!

The Magician, overwhelmed by the impact, swiftly shouted in alarm: "You can’t lose control—there are hundreds of Players here! Do you want to kill them all?!"

Suspecting Xu Huo’s Psychic Power had spiraled out of control, the Magician tried to snap him out of it. Yet the dark shadow bolted ahead to knock the Magic Wand from his grasp. Like liquid, it crept from all corners of the stage, splitting into countless Black Spikes that surrounded the Magician entirely, ignoring the portals repeatedly opened by the paper strips!

Unable to flee for now, the Magician retreated inside a transparent Body Bag. But unexpectedly, the first probing strike by the black shadow pierced through the overlapping Mental Portals on the Body Bag and struck his calf!

The Magician’s eyes widened in disbelief. As the shadowy spikes loomed closer for a chaotic onslaught, the flying paper strips rapidly converged before him, forming a paper-man shape about human height. After reassembling, Xu Huo gradually regained control over his body, transforming from paper form back to flesh. He stood before the Magician, grabbed the Black Spike halting inches away, and yanked it forcefully:

"Return!"
