Chapter 296: Chapter 296: I Don’t Regret It

Li Feier wondered, with a man as outstanding as Chen Wei, probably all women in the world would hurry to share a bed with him, right?

Now that such an opportunity had descended upon her, what should she do?

Chaos! Her mind was in complete turmoil, unable to make a decision.

Chen Wei was equally conflicted.

His mind inexplicably began to wander, flashing back to earlier images of Su Yumei clad in gossamer fabrics.

Then there was the image of the quilt opening, that touch of greyish white...

How could Chen Wei, a vigorous young man, withstand such torment?

If there was someone to blame, it would likely be that both women were simply too charming, each one outshining all others with stunning beauty.

Li Feier was still lost in thought.

He has helped me in so many ways, even pulled me back from Ghost Gate Pass. Even if I truly give myself to him as a reward, that would still make sense, wouldn’t it?

Besides that, how else could I repay him? He has power, influence, talent... in what way isn’t he superior to me?

For the first time, Li Feier was grateful for her own beauty, at least in this situation, she was not completely without leverage.

Whether by coincidence or because of a genuine connection, they turned their heads simultaneously to look at each other.

The moment their eyes met, the atmosphere ignited instantly.

In the bustling metropolis, even at night, the lights shone brightly, allowing clear visibility even without the lights on.

Li Feier slowly leaned in, closed her eyes, awkwardly tilted her head up a little, and pursed her lips.

"..." Chen Wei was not the kind of man who would keep his composure when someone threw themselves at him.

To the woman who had finally resolved to offer her body, and for whom he also had feelings, Chen Wei couldn’t bear to disappoint her.

Rejecting under these circumstances might cause untold emotional damage.

If fate had brought them together, it shouldn’t be rejected.

Their lips met, fingers intertwined...

"I, I’m not very experienced in this area, please, please don’t look down on me," Li Feier said shyly, looking up at Chen Wei above her.

"From now on, I am your teacher, trust me."

"Mhm." Luckily the lights were off, otherwise Li Feier would never dare to look directly into Chen Wei’s eyes like she was now.

She did not want to avert her gaze; this was a night to remember. She wanted to engrave this man deeply into her heart.

...

The furrowed brows gradually relaxed.

Arms raised to embrace, feeling the broad and reassuring shoulders of Chen Wei...

...

Just like Chen Wei had said, he was Li Feier’s teacher, and that night, he taught her many things, not just about music.

Taking a few tissues from the bedside table, Chen Wei reached out to gently wipe the beads of sweat from Li Feier’s face.

He asked with concern, "Tired?"

"Not tired," Li Feier replied with labored breathing, obviously lying.

"It’s late, let’s sleep. Don’t force yourself; your body is still weak."

"Mhm." Li Feier obediently agreed, feeling thoroughly exhausted after the night’s learning and with heavy eyelids.

Within half a minute of agreeing, she entered dreamland.

Waking up the next day to find no one beside her, Li Feier’s first reaction was panic.

Then she heard the sound of the door opening, and saw Chen Wei walking in, one hand holding dry clothes, and the other holding a thermos.

"You’re awake, how are you feeling? I brought your clothes back, and here’s breakfast," Chen Wei said as he placed the insulated box on the nightstand.

"I’ve recovered quite a bit after sleeping all night, though there is still some soreness," Li Feier replied, squeezing her legs together, her face blushing with shyness.

"I’m sorry, I wasn’t considerate last night; I forgot you were new to this."

"Don’t worry about it, I have no regrets. It was my own choice," Li Feier said, unsure why she had done what she did. She felt no regret, only surprise.

So she too had such impulsive sides.

"Get dressed, be careful not to catch a cold," Chen Wei said as he took the clothes out of the dust bag, and then asked, "Do I need to turn around?"

"Please turn around for now." It was dark last night, but now the room was bright, and Li Feier couldn’t bring herself to show her nakedness to Chen Wei again.

"Alright," Chen Wei turned his back.

After a series of rustling sounds.

"I’m dressed now; you can turn back," she said.

"Let’s have breakfast," Chen Wei opened the insulated box, taking out a bowl of porridge, a bamboo steamer of soup dumplings, and two mini youtiao (fried dough sticks).

"Do you need me to feed you?"

"No need! I can manage on my own." Li Feier found that after learning, she dared even less to look into Chen Wei’s eyes.

Shyness was one reason, and another was the fear of falling for him and not being able to extricate herself.

She wasn’t naive enough to expect Chen Wei to take responsibility and make her his wife because of this.

Especially since she was the more proactive one last night...

Li Feier wasn’t young, and more than once she had fantasized about intimacy, but she never had much free time—either writing songs or on the way to write songs.

Most importantly, she hadn’t found a man who could move her heart.

At least until she met Chen Wei, that was certainly the case.

In Li Feier’s eyes, Chen Wei was a suitable person to have a forbidden taste with.

Now, she at least felt like a real woman!

Ideas for a new song were already popping up in her mind.

A beloved man of vastly different status, to love deeply without hope, only able to silently gaze at each other...

"What are you thinking about? Eat quickly or it’ll get cold, and it won’t taste as good," Chen Wei said, seeing Li Feier holding chopsticks and spacing out, he waved his hand in front of her.

"No, nothing; okay, I’ll eat," Li Feier picked up a soup dumpling and shoved it into her mouth.

She tore the youtiao and mixed it with the hot porridge, showing her hearty appetite.

"Don’t you want me to take responsibility?" Chen Wei waited a long time for Li Feier to say those words. When she didn’t, he asked proactively.

"I don’t," Li Feier shook her head. "You, as the Heavenly God of Protecting the Country, have wealth, talent, power... thinking about it, it seems like I’m the one who benefits the most, right? It should be me asking you if you don’t want me to take responsibility instead."

She wanted to crack a joke to lighten the mood.

"That’s quite a cold joke."

"I also think it’s quite cold." They looked at each other and smiled.

"I know I can’t possibly handle a man as powerful as you. Just being able to talk to you about music from time to time makes me more than happy," she said.

Hearing Li Feier’s words, Chen Wei reached out and held her cheek, his thumb gently caressing it: "You don’t have to be so humble. If you want to talk, you can come to me anytime."

"You said it, don’t find me annoying when the time comes," Li Feier said, barely concealing her excitement. This was exactly what she wanted.

"Rest assured, I definitely won’t. How could I find it annoying to keep a date with a beauty?" Chen Wei promised.

"When the time comes, I will make sure to exhaust you thoroughly!" Li Feier clenched her fists, her expression firm.

"Ah! Exhaust me! That sounds terrifying," Chen Wei pretended to be shocked.

At first, Li Feier didn’t catch on, but a few seconds later she realized that Chen Wei had misunderstood her meaning and scolded him with a pout, "Naughty! You’re so bad, you know I was talking about exhausting all your musical knowledge."
