Chapter 484 - 433 Glimpse into the Celestial Secret
Chapter 484: 433 Glimpse into the Celestial Secret
"But, Amitabha Buddha, these scriptures are all flowing out from my Mount Meru!"
Even after hearing Jieyin’s words, Ananda couldn’t help but complain further.
"Back in the day, we created the immense ordeal of the Journey to the West with the intention of ferrying the scriptures to the East to enlighten the multitudes. Xuanzang also came to seek the True Scriptures bearing the Imperial Decree from the King of Tang."
"After Xuanzang returned to the Great Tang, he had completed handing over the scriptures and, at the King of Tang’s request, convened a grand Water and Land Assembly to preach Buddhist Law for forty-nine days."
Before all the Buddhas in the great hall, Zhunti declared, "From this point on, Xuanzang and our saints of the Western Direction are free from mutual commitments!"
"Now Xuanzang has realized the Buddhist Law on his own and established a new doctrine. His teachings do not contain our true scriptures from Mount Meru but are instead authored by himself. Therefore, there is no need for further discussion on this matter."
Of course, Zhunti would not go as far as to say that no matter how Xuanzang altered them, he remains a follower of Buddhism.
After all, the Buddhas of Mount Meru also possess different Buddhist Laws. To be clear on the issue, it’s feared that all Buddhas might descend to establish their own versions of Buddhism.
After hearing Zhunti’s words, the Buddhas in the great hall remained silent, and Zhunti nodded slightly, at least temporarily suppressing the matter.
Afterward, Jieyin sat upon the Lotus Platform, the Bodhisattvas returned to their places, and Dharma was preached in the great hall.
"It’s a pity about Xuanzang. From now on, I fear we won’t know what variables may emerge."
After leaving, Zhunti couldn’t help but sigh deeply. Xuanzang might seem like just a scripture seeker, but in the eyes of Zhunti and Jieyin, his departure was the greatest loss for Mount Meru.
"Mother Buddha Zhunti, how should we respond to the great calamity of the Three Realms?"
Standing beside Zhunti, Ancient Buddha Ran Deng, who was not in the great hall to listen to the preaching, asked.
Upon hearing Ancient Buddha Ran Deng’s words, Zhunti sighed and said, "The great calamity of the Three Realms is actually a calamity of all our doctrines. When the time comes, we can let the second-generation disciples go. It doesn’t concern us too much."
"However, the celestial Dao Will is such that Buddhism is flourishing."
"The great ordeal of the Journey to the West has ended, and with the Heavenly Demon calamity approaching, Buddhism indeed needs to flourish, just as the Human Race had dominated the Fate of Heaven and Earth before. But exactly how it should flourish requires further consideration."
"Now that Heavenly Secrets are unpredictable, has the World-honored One reincarnated early to counter this demonic calamity?"
Ancient Buddha Ran Deng asked.
"It is and it isn’t. The Tathagata’s reincarnation has actually not undergone Reincarnation. Ran Deng, take some of Tathagata’s True Spirit today and go to the Qiao Family Estate in Southern Continent Jambudvipa!"
"You must ensure that the Tathagata reincarnates smoothly!"
Zhunti spoke very seriously about the matter.
As a high-ranking figure within Buddhism, not to mention managing Buddhism for so many years, the Tathagata’s own self is also a rare top-end combat force.
If Buddhism can’t get through this Heavenly Demon calamity, the grand flourishing of Buddhism will become nothing but an empty talk.
Moreover, this demonic calamity differs from the Journey to the West ordeal; that was a farce well-arranged by the celestial Court and Western Direction.
But the Heavenly Demon calamity is full of uncertainties.
With celestial Secrets now unpredictable, any slight change might lead to immeasurable consequences.
"I will follow the Order of Law."
Ran Deng pressed his palms together and bowed to Zhunti.
Gathering Tathagata’s indestructible sliver of True Spirit, Ran Deng left Western Cow Hezhou and headed straight for Southern Continent Jambudvipa in search of the Qiao Family Estate.
And the moment he appeared in Southern Continent Jambudvipa, Wang Yang, who was nearby Xuanzang in Chang’an City, had already felt it.
"Ancient Buddha Ran Deng!"
Wang Yang murmured softly, clearly recognizing the newcomer.
Glancing at Xuanzang, who was still preaching, and after exchanging a word with Sun Wukong, Wang Yang transformed into a rainbow light and flew swiftly toward the direction of Ancient Buddha Ran Deng.
In Qiao Family Village of Southern Continent Jambudvipa, as Ran Deng was about to press down the Auspicious Clouds upon seeing the village sign, he found that Wang Yang had already arrived not far away.
"Patron Wang."
Ancient Buddha Ran Deng greeted Wang Yang upon seeing him.
"Fellow Daoist Ran Deng, what brings you to my Southern Continent Jambudvipa instead of staying at Mount Meru?"
Wang Yang looked at him with a half-smile and spoke.
"Patron Wang, the Tathagata of our Buddhism has reincarnated to face the Heavenly Demon calamity."
Ran Deng didn’t hide anything and directly told Wang Yang.
This surprised Wang Yang a bit, as the Tathagata’s reincarnation had happened several days ago, so why come now?
"I hope for your support, Patron Wang."
Seeing the Hour was near, Ran Deng seemed anxious.
Wang Yang did not obstruct him; he stood quietly to the side, signaling to Ran Deng to proceed as he wished.
Seeing Wang Yang’s response, Ran Deng decided not to descend but instead hovered above the Qiao Residence, waving his hand grandly. Tathagata’s sliver of True Spirit was sent into Lady Qiao’s womb by Ran Deng.
"Wah wah wah..."
Before long, the sound of a baby’s cries could be heard from the residence.
When Ran Deng saw the heavenly signs and the golden lotus emerge, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"My dear, that must have been hard for you."
"The child, the child."
"My lord, it seems like the little young master has a birthmark on his back!"
"Ah? What is this?"
Surprised by the swastika that appeared on his back, Old Master Qiao was puzzled.
"With such spiritual nature, why not name him Ling’er?"
Lady Qiao looked affectionately at her son.
...
As Ran Deng watched the birth of Qiao Ling’er, who indeed had the Buddhist mark on his back, he nodded contentedly,
"My task is done; this humble monk takes his leave."
Ran Deng bowed to Wang Yang again, then returned to Western Cow Hezhou on the Auspicious Clouds.
"With the Tathagata reincarnated, it seems the Three Realms will indeed not know peace."
Looking at the newly born Qiao Ling’er, Wang Yang also couldn’t help but sigh.
This is a great calamity, as Xuanzang said, no one can escape unscathed.
Aside from a few Sect Hierarchs, even Wang Yang might have to sacrifice himself to face the calamity.
As Wang Yang headed back to Chang’an to continue protecting Xuanzang, another presence with the Qi of a Quasi-Saint traveled from afar.
"Such a peculiar presence!"
Wang Yang could feel that the newcomer’s presence was mysterious, something even he had not encountered before.
However, upon sensing the Buddhist Qi on the other party, he already had an inkling of what was happening.
Soon after, a Buddhist Lotus slowly materialized in front of him.
