Chapter 449 - 416: Fake Princess and Zhu Bajie
Chapter 449: Chapter 416: Fake Princess and Zhu Bajie
Seeing Sun Wukong actually turn around to leave, Xuanzang and the others couldn’t help but feel anxious.
Xuanzang spoke in a low voice, "Are we really just going to leave like this?"
Sun Wukong glanced at Xuanzang, then looked at Zhu Bajie not far away who had transformed into Xuanzang, and said with a smile, "There’s no need to worry, Master. After all, staying here to be the Prince Consort is not like getting your head chopped off. Let him enjoy the wealth and honor here. We’ll fulfill his responsibility of seeking the True Scriptures for him!"
Zhu Bajie had already guessed what Sun Wukong intended to do, so he wasn’t feeling sad at all. After making faces at Sun Wukong for a while, he then said, "I was supposed to accompany you to Mount Meru to meet the Buddha Ancestor and seek the True Scriptures."
"But fate has brought me to the Princess, and such destiny cannot be blocked. Although I will miss you all, the task of seeking Scriptures cannot be delayed. You should set off soon! I will surely pray day and night for you, hoping you’ll reach Mount Meru soon and obtain the True Scriptures."
Sun Wukong waved his hands and said with a smile, "Don’t worry about us, Master. We aren’t far from Mount Meru. I believe it won’t be long before we can return with the Scriptures. With that, we shall take our leave."
Sun Wukong, seeing Xuanzang still appeared to be worried as he looked at Zhu Bajie, grabbed Xuanzang’s arm and said with a chuckle, "Bajie, I know you’re reluctant to leave your master, but your master is a Prince Consort now, which is much better than when he was a Monk. What’s there to worry about? Let’s hurry on our way and not delay the important matter of seeking Scriptures."
With that, he started to lead Xuanzang out of the hall.
The Sand Monk also took one more glance at Zhu Bajie and followed them out.
Once they had left the great hall and saw no one around, Xuanzang hurriedly said, "Are we really just going to leave Bajie here alone?"
Sun Wukong said with a smile, "Don’t worry, Master, the idiot knows what we’re going to do. He will cooperate with us from the inside!"
Upon hearing this, Xuanzang couldn’t help but still be somewhat worried and furrowed his brow, "I’m just concerned that Bajie will be outnumbered and if he’s not a match for that monster, and ends up getting sucked dry by it, wouldn’t that be troublesome."
Sun Wukong burst into laughter, "You can rest easy about that, Master. The monster’s target is you, not that stinky pig. As for the idiot’s Yang Essence, the monster would find it stinky and useless, why would it bother sucking it?"
Talking this way, the group returned to the room in the Imperial Flower Garden, and Sun Wukong instructed the Sand Monk to start packing their belongings.
Xuanzang sighed softly and said, "Are we really just going to leave like this?"
"Master, they’re practically shoving us out the door, how can we have the shame to stay here any longer?"
"We can only return at the time of the bridal chamber."
Sun Wukong said, shrugging helplessly.
The group had stayed in the palace for a few days, taking only a few pieces of personal clothing with them, while the White Dragon Horse and some of their other belongings were still left at the Posthouse.
Sun Wukong led Xuanzang and the others out of the Imperial Palace and made a trip back to the Posthouse.
After returning to the Posthouse, they closed the door.
Sun Wukong said softly, "We don’t need to rush off now, since we can’t really leave. Instead of seeking shelter elsewhere, why not stay here another night? Tomorrow is the wedding day, and early morning, we’ll pretend to leave the city, which should deceive the monster."
The Sand Monk’s eyes darted around, and he furrowed his brow, "But the Fake Princess has been sending people to secretly watch us. Surely, they have people here in the Posthouse, too. If someone asks, what should we say?"
"That’s easy. Just say that the journey to Mount Meru is long, and we need to shop for supplies to use on the way. We’ll start our journey early in the morning. You and Junior Brother Sand go out later and buy as many provisions, clothes, and daily necessities as you can."
Sun Wukong said with a smile.
"Eldest Senior Brother is right."
Sand Monk said with a snicker, "So how will we help Second Senior Brother tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow’s matters will be discussed tomorrow!" Sun Wukong said, looking entirely confident.
After a while, the Posthouse Manager, seeing that Sun Wukong and his companions had returned without packing their luggage, rushed over to ask when they would set off.
Sun Wukong replied with a smile, "The journey to Mount Meru is far, and we need to buy some items to use on the road."
"If we finish shopping early, we’ll leave today; if we finish shopping late, we’ll set off early tomorrow morning. What is it, Manager? Are you eager to get rid of us?"
"Far from it! Far from it! You are all distinguished guests. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t invite such esteemed visitors, let alone drive you away! I was merely inquiring. If the honored guests are staying tonight, I’d like to make the necessary preparations to host you all properly," the Posthouse Manager quickly explained.
"No need for you to trouble yourself, Manager, just prepare some simple vegetarian dishes; there’s no need for extravagance! And don’t prepare too much food, maybe just one hundred and eighty dishes, enough for four or five tables; that should be enough for us to eat. It’s mostly because that fat fellow eats so much," Sun Wukong stated.
The Posthouse Manager couldn’t help but roll his eyes. One hundred and eighty dishes! You sure have the nerve to say it’s not a bother.
But these were the Prince Consort’s people after all, and the Posthouse Manager dared not offend them.
All he could do was answer, "Yes! Yes! I’ll get to it right away."
With that, he quickly rushed off as if fleeing, fearful of any more unreasonable demands from these individuals.
Xuanzang gave Sun Wukong a reproachful look and said with a hint of grievance, "Wukong, I only eat half a bowl of rice per meal, and you really treat me like I’m Bajie, that idiot."
