Chapter 405: Chapter 394 Unfortunately, You Insist on Seeking Death

Zhu Bajie was by no means weak, as soon as he saw these monsters, he immediately transformed into his Nine-toothed Rake.

With the Nine-toothed Rake in hand, he swept around, and after all, this rake was forged by the Grand Elder of the Supreme Way, its power was incomparably mighty.

The little demons had feeble mana; they couldn’t resist at all. More than a dozen little demons couldn’t dodge in time, were struck by the rake, and immediately blood splattered in all directions, followed by piercing, tragic screams.

Not a single one of the dozen or so little demons escaped; they all perished on the spot.

Zhu Bajie, seeing these monsters were so easily beaten, was instantly emboldened and burst out laughing as he declared, "I’ll handle you brazen monsters who dared to capture your pig ancestor. Not one of you will escape; eat my rake first!"

Zhu Bajie cursed as he brandished the Nine-toothed Rake wildly, slaughtering the group of demons as they fled in panic and disarray.

When the Demon King saw how valiant Zhu Bajie was, he quickly asked, "Hold on, pig-headed one, this king does not slay those nameless beneath me. Who exactly are you? State your name at once!"

Zhu Bajie upon hearing this, finally stopped, jabbed the rake into the ground, and shouted fiercely, "What an ignorant demon, to not recognize your pig ancestor. Stand firm and listen as I, old pig, explain slowly."

"I am none other than the Marshal Tianpeng from the Celestial Court, now descended to The Mortal Realm and known as Zhu Bajie."

The Demon King laughed upon hearing this, saying, "So you are Xuanzang’s disciple. I’ve always heard that Xuanzang’s flesh is tasty, and I’ve been wanting to capture you. I never thought you would deliver yourself to my doorstep. Today, there’s no way I can spare you."

Zhu Bajie saw these little demons were not so powerful and still so arrogant, even clamoring to eat Xuanzang’s flesh?

Zhu Bajie became enraged, swung his Nine-toothed Rake and yelled, "What a recklessly audacious demon, thinking about eating my master? Eat my rake first!"

As he spoke, he lifted his rake and charged toward the monster.

The monster showed no fear either, lifting an Iron Rod to meet the charge, and battled with Zhu Bajie into a frenzy. The monster had managed to claim the mountain as his own, showing some skill, and after several exchanges with Zhu Bajie, neither could claim victory.

Seeing Zhu Bajie’s prowess, the monster feared he couldn’t win, so he quickly called his subordinates, intending to rely on their sheer numbers to overcome Zhu Bajie.

Thus a group of little demons shouted as they surrounded him, and Zhu Bajie, facing numerous foes, couldn’t help but panic slightly, thinking of escaping, but the paths were all blocked by the monsters, leaving no chance for escape.

Zhu Bajie was flustered and gradually found himself at a disadvantage.

The monster, seeing this, beamed with joy and shouted loudly, "Minions, work together to capture Zhu Bajie!"

The morale of the group of little demons was greatly boosted, and they all shouted as they attacked Zhu Bajie.

Zhu Bajie swung his rake in a disordered flurry; though he seemed somewhat panicked, these little demons could not advance. The Demon King also had limited skills and, for the moment, couldn’t do much to Zhu Bajie.

Watching Zhu Bajie being pushed back, a smile appeared on his face.

Although he couldn’t do much about Zhu Bajie right now, if things continued this way, even if it was a slow wear down, they could eventually exhaust him to death.

Therefore, the monster was in no hurry, simply surrounding Zhu Bajie and attacking wildly, just waiting for Zhu Bajie’s energy to run out before moving in to capture him.

"Damn that Pilgrim, damned macaque! It actually fooled old Zhu, where’s the supposed family offering alms? Clearly, it’s a group of demons who have set up a pot, ready to feast on monks!"

Zhu Bajie was extremely anxious, and in his heart, he had cursed Sun Wukong’s ancestors for eighteen generations.

While he was bustling with curses, he suddenly heard Sun Wukong’s voice beside his ear, "Idiot, don’t panic, Old Sun is here."

When Zhu Bajie heard Sun Wukong’s voice, he immediately felt overjoyed. Bolstered by the knowledge that he had support, he felt a hundred times more spirited, swinging his rake and striking wildly. Several small demons were unable to dodge in time and were quickly killed.

The old demon saw Zhu Bajie suddenly growing fierce and was frightened into hiding to the side, frowning and saying, "This pig was worthless before, how comes he’s suddenly become so vicious?"

Zhu Bajie sneered and said, "My boy, don’t bully your Grandpa Pig; my family’s reinforcements have arrived."

With those words, he lifted his rake and continued to go after the old demon.

The old demon swung his iron rod to defend a few times, but seeing Zhu Bajie’s strength and gradually unable to guard against it, and hearing Zhu Bajie mention his family had come, he assumed someone had come to help. One Zhu Bajie was already so difficult to handle, and if another person was to join, how would they be able to deal with it?

The monster finally felt fear and with a long howl, led a bunch of little demons in a pathetic retreat. Zhu Bajie, invigorated, charged again, killing a few more little demons.

Sun Wukong, seeing Zhu Bajie’s victory, did not show himself. The idiot, seeing the demons fleeing, did not dare to pursue further and grabbed his rake to run down the mountain.

Zhu Bajie ran to Xuanzang’s side, threw his rake to the ground, plopped down on his behind, and with a mournful expression said, "Master, you must stand up for old Zhu!"

Xuanzang, seeing Zhu Bajie in such a state, was somewhat puzzled and hurriedly asked, "Bajie, weren’t you going to gather grass? Why are you in such a sorry state, could it be that someone on the mountain stopped you from gathering grass?"

Zhu Bajie said crying, "Master! You don’t know, brother made a mock of me. He previously said there were no demons in the mist, that it was a village steaming white rice and white flour buns, preparing to offer meals to monks!"

"Honest old Zhu took it for truth, thinking I was hungry, I was planning to go eat a bit first, to fill up my stomach."

"Who would have known that halfway there, a group of demons jumped out and surrounded me, old Zhu. After a bitter battle, I was nearly captured by the demons, and if not for brother’s morose cudgel coming to aid, old Zhu wouldn’t have made it back."
