Chapter 75: The dream
Chapter 75: The dream
Chris had a dreamless sleep. Or so he thought. He was having a really nice moment, which he felt was only possible in the dream world. His eyes opened faintly to find a pair of eyes staring gently at him. Sky was nestled beside him under the duvet, humming softly to remind Chris that he had a melodious voice. The hum and gentle hair strokes tried to lull him into a peaceful slumber, but then he wondered why he needed to sleep again inside his dream when he could take this chance to enjoy this moment?
His dim eye was greeted by the sight of Sky’s radiant face glowing in the darkness.
For a moment, Chris was disoriented, unsure if he was still dreaming. The warm light that seemed to emanate from Sky’s very being was otherworldly, and he couldn’t help but be captivated by his beauty.
"You... look like an angel," Chris murmured, his voice still heavy with sleep.
Sky chuckled softly, with a hint of bashfulness in his smile. "I should hope so. I wouldn’t want to disappoint you in your dreams."
Ah! Even in his dream, the boy was the same. At least he was better this way than in the vulnerable state he had been in earlier.
Chris continued to stare at him. He looked so much like Rain now, with some strands of hair in his face and the stud in his earlobe and nostril glowing together with him.
But then, as his eyes trailed down and stopped at his lips, he could tell the difference there. Their lips were different. Very different.
While Rain’s lips were pretty to look at as she talked, for Sky, he just wanted to shut him up from talking. With his own lips.
As their eyes locked, Chris felt a sudden surge of courage. He had always wondered what it would be like to kiss Sky, and in this dreamlike moment, it felt like anything was possible. His hands trembled slightly as they reached for Sky’s face to gently brush the hair away, and then he leaned in. He didn’t have to make much effort since they were already that close to each other.
He kissed Sky right on the lips.
It was soft and tender. Just their lips touching.
As their lips met in his dream, time seemed to stand still. Chris could feel the warmth of Sky’s breath mingling with his own, and a rush of emotions washed over him. It was a moment he had imagined countless times but never thought would happen, even if only in a dream. It felt so real and so vivid that it was hard to believe it wasn’t actually happening.
When he pulled away and looked at Sky’s face, he noticed Sky’s eyes held a mix of surprise and curiosity. That was as far as he could remember.
Just as quickly as the dream had begun, it faded away, leaving Chris to face reality when he opened his eyes to the sound of the persistent knock on the door.
The first thing that Chris noticed was the empty bed. But he could not find the time to process anything else since he was already annoyed at the person troubling him when it was still night.
Frowning, Chris got up, trying to shake off the remnants of the dream that still lingered in his mind.
As Chris opened the door, he was taken aback to find that it wasn’t nighttime outside. Instead, the corridor was bathed in a soft morning glow. The smiling hotel manager greeted him, holding a luggage box and accompanied by a room service attendant with a luxurious breakfast tray in his cart.
"Good morning, sir," the manager said cheerfully. "I hope you had a restful night. We’ve prepared a new set of clothes for you and your friend, and breakfast has been delivered as well." He said this, gesturing at the server.
Chris glanced at the luggage box and the breakfast tray, his mind still trying to catch up with the sudden turn of events. "Thank you," he replied, trying to sound composed despite his confusion. "But... why is it morning already?"
The manager was a little confused, but then he chuckled, his eyes lighting up with mischief as he said, "Apologies for any confusion, sir. We had a slight mix-up with the timing, but I assure you, it’s indeed morning now. We wanted to make sure you and your friend had everything you needed for a wonderful day ahead."
Chris nodded, still feeling a bit disoriented. "Oh, I see. Thank you for the clothes and breakfast," he said, taking the luggage box and setting it aside.
"It is my pleasure to serve you, Sir. And for your information, your other friends received the information you wanted the staff to pass on to them. They have already received new clothing and are well looked after."
Other friends?
Other friends!!!!
His eyes widened.
He had totally forgotten about Wilson and Rachel. So much for staying on the same floor to look after them.
As the room service attendant wheeled in the breakfast tray, Chris couldn’t help but be impressed by the spread. The tray was adorned with a variety of fresh fruits, pastries, and an assortment of delicious dishes. The aroma wafted through the room, making his stomach growl in anticipation.
He hadn’t realized how hungry he was until now.
When he heard something falling in the bathroom, his slow brain told him that someone was inside. Sky was inside!
He looked at the manager and server, shooing them out immediately.
"Remember... you don’t know me." He quickly whispered to the confused manager before he shut the door, locking them out, and at the same time, Sky emerged from the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his head and wearing a bathrobe.
It was easy to ignore someone when you felt nothing for them. But the moment you confess to yourself that you liked them even a little and even had a dream about kissing them, it becomes difficult to ignore them, especially when they look sexily fresh out of the shower. Too difficult.
