Chapter 58: Movie night?

Chapter 58: Movie night?

"So now I am petty?" Chris asked in disbelief.

Who was the one who had been acting like a grumpy old lady the entire time?

"You think I do not have any reason to be pissed?" Sky asked him, making Chris properly sit up to look at this guy because it seemed like he had gone cray-cray.

"You almost hurt yourself! And then I hadn’t recovered from that, but you had to further piss me off by making that girl sit in the front seat beside me. And despite knowing I am pissed at you, you couldn’t call or text me for the past few hours." He ranted, and his hand went inside his bag again, and he aggressively threw another bag of chips at Chris, which Chris could not dodge or catch because he was a little taken aback by what Sky had said to him, so it hit him on the chest and fell to his laps.

He had indeed been angry because of Rachel?

And he had been expecting his call or text?

What a drama queen!

Chris wanted to ask him why he was angry about those things. He also wanted to remind him that he could have as well called or texted him if he wanted to instead of waiting for him to call. But something else was more important. He was curious.

"Do you not like Rachel?"

"I don’t." He answered almost immediately.

"What?" Chris exclaimed in surprise. Had she been correct?

"What?" Sky asked him back.

"Why? I mean, she is sweet and lovely and really pretty. Why don’t you like her?"

"I don’t need to have a reason to not like her. But I can tolerate her if she is your friend."

He furrowed his brows. This guy was indeed difficult.

"Then what about Ash? Do you also have a reason for not liking him?"

"Did I tell you I didn’t like him?"

"It was as clear as day. You do not like him."

"Ah! So you were smart enough to notice I didn’t like him, but you were still happily chatting with him after the game?"

Chris could not help the laugh that escaped his lips. Once again, he pitied whoever was going to be his partner.

Now it made sense why he had been very dissatisfied with Mark and Ken, or whatever those guys’ names were, that they met in the mall the other time.

Sky was not the type to share his partner with others. It was obvious.

"If you have something to tell me, go straight to the point and tell me. I don’t want you beating around the bush like this. I’ll ignore you—"

"Do not befriend Ash." Sky spoke in a serious tone.

Chris crossed his legs and asked with a raised brow, "And why shouldn’t I?"

"Nothing."

"That is not an answer." Chris pointed out before he added, "And he already invited me to his pool party."

"You’re going?"

Chris shrugged. "I might."

Sky just stared at him and sighed. "Ash is the kind of person that likes to show off and intimidate people with his family’s wealth. He is fond of that. He is going to make you feel bad, and I don’t want that to happen."

His concern sounded genuine. Chris stared at him. "You must care about me then."

"You know I do. If I didn’t, I’d have kicked your ass out of this room from the first day."

Chris chuckled before he said, "I will be fine. I don’t care about people showing off their wealth to me. It doesn’t bother me."

"Because you have friends from wealthy families? Like that girl, for example?" Sky asked curiously.

"’Rachel’." Chris reminded him of the name. "And you can put it that way."

"Hmm."

Hmm? What did that mean? Chris looked at him suspiciously.

"You are not going to suddenly be mad at me for deciding to go to that pool party later, are you?"

Sky looked at him, and when he saw the suspicion written all over Chris’s face, he laughed. "You make it sound like I am always angry."

"Well, aren’t you?"

"I’m not. I’m only pissed when you make me pissed."

"So now that you are done throwing your chips at me and ranting, are you leaving now?" Chris asked.

"Why? Do you want me to stay?"

Chris looked at Sky, whose intense gaze was on him, and it looked like an amused smile was playing on his lips. There was also a mischievous look in his eyes. He was doing that thing again.

DO NOT LET HIM GET INTO YOUR HEAD, CHRIS!

He decided to play it lightly. He had learned that the best way to not fall for it was to play it off.

"Are you trying to seduce me with that gaze?" Chris asked with a smirk.

A smile split Sky’s face, and he looked away, running his hands through his locs.

Why was he so pretty?

"We’ve not seen that movie yet. Didn’t want to leave you alone." Sky mentioned to him.

"What movie?" Chris asked curiously.

"The one from the other night before I dozed off. We were supposed to see a movie. So I brought snacks." He said this as he dumped a few more packs of chips on his bed that he had taken out of his bag.

"Oh... when you left a note the next morning about how pretty I was in my sleep? Are you a pervert?" Chris asked in a serious tone and received a pretty grin from Sky.

"If you were me, you’d find you pretty too." The demon playboy from hell said to him with sparkling eyes.

Damn! Why was he so smooth?

Sky tapped the space beside him on the bed before he reached to take out his laptop from the bag.

"Turn off the lights and come here." He said casually.

Chris raised his brow.

Was Sky... inviting him to his bed?

He looked at the small bed and then at Sky, who was busy operating his laptop, probably browsing for a movie.

He and Sky. One small bed. Lights off?
